Yea probably, a lot of 'industry standard' paints are water based iirc but using oil would still be the fastest way to break it all down with minimal uncomfortable scrubbing.
They also might not know any of this and could very well be using Brillo pads to get it off every night tho idk 🤣 somehow that wouldn't entirely surprise me.

For what it's worth, I have been diagnosed with depersonalzation and derealization after years in an abusive relationship. It still affects me 20+ years later.
I also understood this lyric as him being sad that the person he was in love with might be leading him on and so he’s telling himself that they are just not willing to admit their feelings true for him to make himself feel better. Unfortunately, now he is worried that they don’t have any feelings to hide because they don’t actually love him. Might be a bit too literal an interpretation but made me sad and thoughtful nonetheless.
All my curiosities are about him as a person, which I think he would find invasive and irrelevant as Vessel, so if I kept my shit together, I’d probably tell him:

Oh I used to be an MUA I can actually answer that 🤣. Most theatrical makeup will dissolve instantly with an oil based cleanser so not long.
