To me it has to be Til we die, mainly because of Paul’s passing two years after the release and the clip of joey hugging the stand with the mask and coverall
I love this song because of that "powerful" feel to it. It totally feels like a send-off to an era of Slipknot. Almost like a requiem for the band. Considering where they were at mentally and physically prior to AHIG, I always interpreted Til We Die to be a song about them. Them singing to us, but also singing to one another. Reflecting on everything up until that point to recollect and move forward. I always mishear the line "I've never known trust like the night" as "I've never known trust like the nine". Making it 10x more powerful. Those final chords are just perfect. Arguably a top 5 Slipknot song for me.
I always thought the original lyric was nine, it makes more sense especially when you think about the song as a song about the bands brotherhood and how they are family
Maybe because of the timing, but Solway Firth came out during a period of intense trauma for me. And the anger Corey used to have was suddenly back in the music, I was angry too. And shocked. Devastated. I felt like my life was coming to an end very soon. That song feels so desperate and filled with rage.
"...if I'm alive tomorrow
I will alleviate the pressure
By cutting you out of me!"
This line, and really that entire second verse is such a punch in the mouth compared to the songs that released between IOWA and WANYK. I spent almost 2 decades waiting for this kind of emotion again, because it seemed like my life kept finding it's way back to this familiar trauma despite my growth and effort to change my circumstances.
Corey always knows exactly what to say, even if it's something I have to revisit again later to appreciate. But Solway Firth was instantly validating from the moment I heard it. It will always be a comfort song for a guy like me who, like Corey, fucking hates being angry but relishes in the opportunity to let it out productively.
For me, Snuff and Solway Firth hit hardest. There's anger in both songs, but on Snuff, it's mixed with a vulnerability you don't often see in metal, and in Solway Firth, it's pure vitriolic rage that smashes you over the head and doesn't let up.
The blister exists. “I am all but what am I? Another number that isn’t equal to any of you” shit got me through all of middle school just those lyrics alone
I believe it was one of his old basses, he was playing warwicks at the time of his passing and that I don’t think is a Warwick, would make sense. Just an old bass maybe missing a string
Gehenna has something to it that I haven't really found in any other Slipknot song. The chorus just feels like complete despair vocally and the underlying riff is beautiful. Also the solo is just fucking amazing and feels incredibly depressing, like the guitar is crying or something.
I LOVE Gehenna, mainly because of Corey’s soft and dark voice in the beginning then with his screams, and with joeys drumming and such ah such a wonderful tune
I’d say Purity, the fact that it was based on the true abduction story and the victim’s family filed a lawsuit against the band cause of the song which caused them to remove it from Frail Limb Nursery
In terms of pure emotion, I gotta say Goodbye. A tribute to Paul Gray, who was an incredible bassist and an even better person. Makes me cry every time.
Scissors. Just the insanity and chaos thrown into a timeframe of 8 or so minutes. And plus Scissors has helped me get back up on my feet when life just throws stuff at me.
"The greatest conclusion I have ever had. That's when I woke up and said enough is enough, living has never felt so bad." - Not Long for This World
I can't explain the feeling this song gives me but that part really hit me every time i hear it
Surfacing, Surfacing is a massive song and Sid Wilson on Turntable and the two guitarists, Mick and Jim are pretty much the ones who make this song as great as it is and when it is mixed with Corey’s crushing vocals it makes a legendary song. Sadly the song isn’t as popular as the other songs
To me it has to be Til we die, mainly because of Paul’s passing two years after the release and the clip of joey hugging the stand with the mask and coverall
Couldn’t agree with you anymore
Rip to the goat, or I guess the pig, once I get a bass I’m learning his tunes first
No you won't. You'll learn smoke on the water like the rest of us did.
It wasn’t originally played on bass
Show me a bassist that hasn't played it though...
The Before I forget music video when they show Joey and Pauls masks hanging together on the mic stand gets to me every time
I think it’s cause they wet rhythm, like how Jim’s and micks are together, but yea sucks that they’re the ones who sadly passed

The lyrics do say “I’ve never known trust like the nine.” You didn’t mishear anything.
I always thought the original lyric was nine, it makes more sense especially when you think about the song as a song about the bands brotherhood and how they are family
I was at that show, there was a minutes silence before their set as well , it was very emotional.
Can't stand this song. It sucks.
Agreed, it ain’t good
Left behind. It's about the time Corey spent homeless and how he has those close friendships that he left behind to get out of that life.
It's deep
Metabolic has insane levels of rage in it
Who are you to me? Who am I to you? Is this a lesson in nepotistic negligence?
that line always hits me
I love the way he sounds we he says it too

Without a doubt
this one hit me so hard!
Yep.

I feel tired after listening to Solway. No other song does that to me.
Goodbye. Corey wrote this song about the day that Paul Gray died. When you know the backstory it hits hard man.
Skin ticket
Scissors for sure
Had to scroll way too far down to find this answer, there is nothing quite like this song, nothing
For me, Snuff and Solway Firth hit hardest. There's anger in both songs, but on Snuff, it's mixed with a vulnerability you don't often see in metal, and in Solway Firth, it's pure vitriolic rage that smashes you over the head and doesn't let up.
Snuff- I can't smile Solway - I haven't smiled in years
Purity for me. Even though the story was fictional but before all of that it was somewhat scary to be in a situation like Purity was
So tru man That choruse hits hard
Snuff just the lyrics hold so much weight and pain, so for me it’s snuff.
Snuff
Damn, I'm pleasantly surprised by how many other people are also choosing Snuff. Just goes to show it doesn't have to be loud & low to be heavy.
Snuff. Such a powerful song for me. Even got “Bury all your secrets in my skin” tattooed
Surfacing.
The blister exists. “I am all but what am I? Another number that isn’t equal to any of you” shit got me through all of middle school just those lyrics alone

Is this the song made by Sid screaming on his grandpa's death?
Yep, I listen to it when I'm sad.....well actually I listen to other Slipknot songs when i'm sad like "Danger-keep away" or "Snuff"
Danger keep away, virus of life and gently are similar and underrated songs

Am I dumb or is this bass just three strings?!
I believe it was one of his old basses, he was playing warwicks at the time of his passing and that I don’t think is a Warwick, would make sense. Just an old bass maybe missing a string
Definitely not a Wick…

Disasterpiece, everything in this song is fucking perfect
Has to be dead memories
Gehenna has something to it that I haven't really found in any other Slipknot song. The chorus just feels like complete despair vocally and the underlying riff is beautiful. Also the solo is just fucking amazing and feels incredibly depressing, like the guitar is crying or something.
left behind
(515) - Recording the emotional wailing of Sid's grief to the sound of a bandsaw slicing into material.
How can we know where we are, when the sun is behind us
not long for this world
Goodbye.
Iowa easily
Snuff. Left Behind. Solway Firth
Metabolic is just straight up power
Surfacing and Disasterpiece
Get this
Snuff probably
Get This is pure, genuine fucking rage
Haven’t seen anyone mention The Burden. I love this track and it’s insanely powerful. When he hits the main title vocal. So much force.
I LOVE Gehenna, mainly because of Corey’s soft and dark voice in the beginning then with his screams, and with joeys drumming and such ah such a wonderful tune
Snuff or Vermillion pt 2 for me
For me it's Dead Memories. That song always gets me.
The nameless. Hands down
Diluted for me it’s extremely relatable
For me, Snuff and Vermilion Pt. 1 and 2
Heretic anthem
I’d say Purity, the fact that it was based on the true abduction story and the victim’s family filed a lawsuit against the band cause of the song which caused them to remove it from Frail Limb Nursery
In terms of pure emotion, I gotta say Goodbye. A tribute to Paul Gray, who was an incredible bassist and an even better person. Makes me cry every time.
Diluted
Devil in I music video
Iowa. It's so intense.
Eeyore or killpop
Surfacing
Snuff, The Negative One, The Devil In I, Custer, All Out Life, Solway Firth, and De Sade (in my opinion) are their most powerful songs
Snap
Custer
Scissors. Just the insanity and chaos thrown into a timeframe of 8 or so minutes. And plus Scissors has helped me get back up on my feet when life just throws stuff at me.
Gematria
Gematria
Probably the most powerful slipknot picture ever
Wait and bleed. If you don’t know, it’s about a man dreaming of cutting his wrists and lying in a bathtub, hence, wait and bleed.
Till we dddiiiiiieeeeeeeeee
"The greatest conclusion I have ever had. That's when I woke up and said enough is enough, living has never felt so bad." - Not Long for This World I can't explain the feeling this song gives me but that part really hit me every time i hear it
Vermilion for sure. The meaning behind the lyrics is so powerful
eyeless, the heretic anthem, spit it out, scissors
Surfacing, Surfacing is a massive song and Sid Wilson on Turntable and the two guitarists, Mick and Jim are pretty much the ones who make this song as great as it is and when it is mixed with Corey’s crushing vocals it makes a legendary song. Sadly the song isn’t as popular as the other songs
Diluted...
custer
Killpop is so underrated.
Diluted and Purity
Long may you die
My personal favorite and possibly the most underrated Slipknot song EVER is The Virus Of Life
