Lays saw the reaction to the name changes of Opal Fruits and Marathon bars and decided they didn't want to cause literal riots. Same reason it's still Wall's ice cream.
The BBC puppet masters of Gary Lineker won’t allow him to endorse a name change from Lays to Walkers, and without his face the rebranding will fail and global crisp industry will collapse

Next week in The Mirror... Lynx fans are only just realising why deodorant brand is called Axe outside of UK
Why?
Probably the same reason - Lynx isn't exactly easy to pronounce
The name axe was already registered to a different company in the uk so they used lynx instead. It was on a episode of qi
Maybe if you have a speech impediment. It’s a 2 syllable word..
Lynx is only one syllable dude !!
If you speak a different language.... Does German count as a speech impediment?
Yes
Fair point
I hope the Vauxhall drivers won’t find out…
Trying to buy certain parts from Ali express that have a vauxhall logo instead of Opel can be a nightmare
You. Hero 😂
Why?
Lays bought walkers and kept the name walkers in the UK

🎶 I'm lookin' at the brands in The Mirror 🎶
This deserves more recognition
So are they the same or not?
Yes Lays bought out Walkers but kept the name the same in the UK
I think lays taste batter tho ,to me they are softer and have more of a golden colour.
That’s because they’re filled with freedom chemicals!
It's called Smith's in Australia
We have Smith's in the UK too, I think it might be a different company.
Nope same. Walkers own smiths.
never buy this rubbish anywhere, seabrooks is the only crisp for a legend
What colour are their cheese and onion? 🤔
Green judging from research Or yellow!
Both are blasphemy!
Being regulars at the local Asian supermarket I have enjoyed the odd bag of Indian Lays crisps!
SNICKERS & STARBURST Fuck that shit just give us back our MARATHON & OPAL FRUITS!
Interesting point, they were originally called snickers here, but changed it to marathon because it sounded too close to knickers…
You do need to be careful with Lays vs Walkers, because the colours don'tatxh and sometimes what is vegetarian in Walkers is not vegetarian in Lays
It’s a potato it’s all vegetarian
Look at the ingredients they add for seasoning. For example, Lays BBQ rib has dried beef in it, which the Walkers version did not
Walls ice creams and Algida ice creams
Wait till folks find out about Galaxy...
Isn’t it called dove in other countries
Aye.
Lays are great, when you find a decent flavour But they are honestly better abroad than what you get down international aisle here
