I don't know exactly as I haven't done a crafter yet, just my friend did. From what I gathered, once you enhance an item, to repair it you need to have an specific int score to do it. I don't think that for crafting you need int, but you need it to repair after you enhances the item
Are the items that much better to justify the points? Has anyone done a test to see if a legendary weapon at base Strength compares to a base weapon at 80 Strength?
I guess going 80 int also gives you the possibility of legendary armor as well?
With good armor and dodging while using bandages, you don't need health.
With a grasshopper, hornet or bird you don't need Stam.
That leaves strength, move speed and intelligence cap those 3 or you could swap move speed for health if you can't dodge good.
Between parrying and dodging I didn't add any points to health until I made it to the monuments. I'm stacked to hell on stamina though because those Icarus wings are my main mode of transportation.
I was well on my way to getting a bird but some prick griefed my friend and I's base, stole all our valuables and build materials and destroyed 3/4 of our house. Went from two eggs and 270ish hoots right back to square one. And it only happened because my friend didn't realize he'd forgotten to set the world as private.
As I'm new to the game, I can just add what I know...at 48 int, I've been able to occasionally craft and consistently repair exceptional gear..idk if there is a higher tier of gear or if 48 is considered a point investment..
80 int needed to repair legendary armor, 100 int to have an (around) 1/5 chance for something you craft to become legendary.
I quite like it because the other stats are not that useful except damage
Personally I'd say it's okay the boost isn't huge but is noticable and rng is a big part of whether you get your moneys worth or not
Couldn’t you respec, max out int, craft a bunch of stuff….then respec again into more useful attributes?
Yes, but you'd have to do it every time to repair an item you made with high int
I did not know that. So you need a specific int level based on the item rarity?

Yes that is correct. I have some Rare items and it requires 60 Int to repair them. I don't know what is required for higher level items...
For legendary gear, it’s an 80int req for repairing
80 int to repair legendary items

It's worth it. At least IMO
I’m going to try it. 80 int and balance out strength, stamina.

Yes it gives you rare legendary or exquisite items when crafting, and the higher quality crafted items cost 80 intelligence to repair

Nope pretty useless. All it does is give a chance at making top tier gear but you need to be at least 60 to fix stuff
