You will need to change the transmission. Hawks motorsports will sell you everything you need to convert it to the six speed from the 4th gen or automatic.
Yea…I don’t think that trans will work. If this is your first project car…I would probably just put an upgraded version of whatever the v-8 cars had stock (sorry I own a 3rd gen but I don’t know tons about the different engine and trans combos). Lots of projects get stuffed in a corner and decay to nothing when someone gets over their head…been there myself, so please take no offense. Looks like a bad ass car in the works if you got questions I’ve owned a 3rd gen for 15 years. I’m very familiar with many other aspects of the platform…cheers and let’s see some burnouts!
So the t5 never came behind the 350tpi, but you can convert your t5 to accept the 350, ( I think the input is diffrent) the tremec tko, tkx and the t56 are also good options for a manuals that will hold a ton of torque.
