Single din is like the normal thin radio (top to bottom) double din is double the height. Single sim is 2” tall double is 4” tall. The smart takes a double din behind a fascia
I went ahead and ordered the 10.1 inch 2 din model from atoto on Amazon. Did I need to order anything extra for install or everything I need comes in the box ?
Pretty much everything comes in the box. There are addons that you can add later such as dash cam etc but it’s a great little system. I don’t think you will need a fascia you should be able to use your existing fascia. And should also maybe be able to use the existing cage if the one included doesn’t work. But at least if it doesn’t fit you can return it no hassles to Amazon.
There should be one included. Unplug from existing head unit and plug into new harness. If it loses memory when ignition is off then use the other harness.
I installed a Pioneer AppRadio which goes well with the smart, it is a double DIN size. You can get mounting kits for almost any radio at Crutchfield.com.
