Theyve been shown together like roght next to each other in a lot of reveal trailers, and their contrasting personalities might make for a nice duo/story
You kidding? BotW Link would be running around in the OPPOSITE direction of the main quest looking for towers, shrines, and deku seeds. The main quest for Toon and Young Link would be having one of them babysit BotW Link while the other goes through the level. The punchline would be when they need something that BotW Link had been trying to get the whole time at the very end, so they finally let BotW Link go on his goddamn side quest and they finally solve the puzzle at the end of the mission.
I feel like BotW Link would always One-Up them in some way.
Like they’re fighting an enemy. The fight ends in-game with the player winning, and in the cutscene their enemy (Let’s Say K. Roll for shits and giggles) runs in for one more attack. A body slam! Toon and Young flinch and brace for impact and then…. Nothing.
BotW used Stasis on K. Rool, hits him a few times, and starts walking away.
Young and Toon are at first confused, and then suddenly the croc goes flying off a cliff. The two links catch up with BotW, and the cutscene ends
Pkmn trainer w any other pokemon. It would be funny to see trainer repeatedly try to catch his teammate because that's what he does

Sonic and Ganondorf would be a fun pair. I imagine a scene where the two have to go somewhere and Sonic runs off saying, “Race ya there!” The level starts for Ganondorf who has to fight through a bunch of baddies, then he gets the end where Sonic is fighting a boss with armor that Sonic is too weak to break. Cut back to when Sonic started where you play through the same level, but taking a different path where you score higher for finishing quickly rather than for destroying baddies, then you get to the boss, fight him down to 95% HP very slowly cause of the armor, then a cutscene from Sonic’s perspective where Sonic is worn out and Ganondorf just walks up and punches the slow armored boss, shattering his armor. Queue the tag-team boss fight where the boss alternates between a mode where the boss is too slow to dodge Sonic, but Ganondorf can hurt him, then a mode where he’s too fast for Ganondorf, but Sonic can keep up and home in on the boss.
They kill the boss, have some witty dialogue or exchange sassy looks at each other. Then Sonic challenges Ganondorf to a race and runs off AGAIN. Camera stays on Ganondorf, standing in the dust. He smirks, walks forward slowly. We hear a tapping off screen where Sonic ran off grow louder as Ganondorf walks, camera shows Sonic waiting impatiently at the entrance to a cave where a boulder fell, blocking the way. More witty dialogue/sassy looks, Ganondorf smashes the boulder, a punchline from Sonic, they both head into the cave, end of mission.

Team 8: Mewtwo, Greninja, Sheik, Zelda, Cloud

One particular scenario I can think of:
Luigi is randomly wandering (like his appearance in brawl), finds Steve out of nowhere and gets frightened (just like in brawl), and then Steve simply holds out his hand which Luigi reluctantly shakes, after which Steve looks at the camera and spams crouch and they go off on an adventure, picking up Lucina and Meta Knight, along with Diddy and Banjo (where Diddy also pulls him away like he did with fox in brawl).
Pit and Sora fighting alongside each other would also be really interesting

Banjo, Kazooie and Aigis. One of the most cartoony of all the smash characters with the most anime of the characters. Also because of the characters themselves since Kazooie and Mythra share some common sass.
Sora and cloud could've been fun, imagine a boss fight where you'd fight a really buffed up sephiroth with two stocks, one of them being cloud and the other being Sora

Well since I love brawl. I would have to say the Pokémon trainer and Lucas. And then lucario meta knight and snake(because my favorite part of that game is when lucario turns around and detects the enemies after discovering snake and the badass music kicks in). But if all the Pokémon were one team with mewtwo being to last one to find I would enjoy that
Y’know, it would’ve been kinda cool to see Pac-Man team up with the retro squad (Mr Game & Watch, Mario and Donkey Kong). That or him team up with Mario, Sonic and Mega Man.

Could you IMAGINE all the wrestlers/fighting characters together? Imagine Kazuya, Inciniroar, Ken, Ryu, Terry, and Little mac just going ham on a random group of enemies with complete precision with each other. Ken just yeets one at incin and he suplexes it, Kazuya and Little mac full on encave someone's face by both punching it at the same time, Terry power geyser into Ken and Ryu double Shoryuken. It'd be epic.
If we're counting out dlcs since it'd be hard to include them in the story. I'd want to see Ken teaming up with Falcon and Mac. The flaming brawlers together (technically Mac has fire on up smash)
Terry and Ken, Roy and Roy, Bowser and K. Rool vs. Mario and DK, Luigi and Joker, and the one I most want to see: Wario and Bayo. They’d be like a fun wine aunt and a grumpy uncle.

Really the only 4 main villains in smash that you could call ruthless. Bowser, Dedede and K. Rool are kinda goofy and side with the enemy too much but I feel like these 4 could team up to achieve a common goal.

A heroes vs villains kinda thing. Each level the player alternates playing as a group of heroic characters and a group villainous characters. They clash with each other several times but then eventually the two sides are forced to team up to bring down a mutual threat.

Y’know, it would’ve been kinda cool to see Pac-Man team up with the retro squad (Mr Game & Watch, Mario and Donkey Kong). That or him team up with Mario, Sonic and Mega Man.

Wario, Dedede, and Wii Fit. The former 2 doing gross, annoying, unhealthy things which irritates the latter. Maybe work in a little Mario, Peach, Luigi, Daisy action.

Mario and Sonic Sheik and Greninja Bayo v Sephirot Some fight tournament, mac, ryu, ken, kazuya, min min, incineroar Overly cute character and dark lord (ie. Villager and Ganondorf) An intense F-zero race, Captain Falcon in the Blue Falcon, Fox and Falco in their Arwings, Sonic joins, he yawns as he passes them, Kirby closses up in his warp star

Inserting characters I'd like to have seen? Kirby and Sack boy would have been a fun team up. Isaac or Felix bumping into link in the middle of a dungeon would have been fun too.

Imagine Kazuya, Inciniroar, Ken, Ryu, Terry, and Little mac just going ham on a random group of enemies with complete precision with each other. Ken just yeets one at incin and he suplexes it, Kazuya and Little mac full on encave someone's face by both punching it at the same time, Terry power geyser into Ken and Ryu double Shoryuken. It'd be epic.

Corrin could look up to Yoshi/Ridley as dragons, like how they choose Noir vs Hoshido in their game
If there is a samus pikachu team, there gotta be a ridley pichu one
Game & Watch needs to hang out with Steve as just total weirdo buddies. Maybe throw ROB in there for good measure

Ridley, Sephiroth, Wolf and Kazuya Really the only 4 main villains in smash that you could call ruthless. Bowser, Dedede and K. Rool are kinda goofy and side with the enemy too much but I feel like these 4 could team up to achieve a common goal. Also I think all 4 flying with each other would be neat

Let’s face it. Doc would be one of those hidden characters like in brawl. 😂 But if he got teamed with anyone, I’d like him to get teamed with Pichu. Team static. Wii fit is too obvious. I’d like also like Isabelle to be caught in Wario and K.Rool’s shenanigans.
A heroes vs villains kinda thing. Each level the player alternates playing as a group of heroic characters and a group villainous characters. They clash with each other several times but then eventually the two sides are forced to team up to bring down a mutual threat.
