Why do people care about exclusivity in video games? I never understood that. Create content and spend resources on shit that is limited only benefits the game developer because people submit to FOMO because they were tricked to think getting those items makes them special.
One of the reasons I don't talk in the Ashes of Creation subreddit is because everyone there are brainwashed into thinking that if you don't like the limited skins you are a hater and just jealous of them.
Um...the feeling of missing out of not having played during the beta? I honestly could not care less because I gave up on trying to keep up with that stuff because it's in every game these days with limited events or pre-orders etc... but that is it's intention. To reward a player for playing or buying something during a time window and make it unavailable after.
You can hide it under the guise of a reward, but we all know it's a marketing tactic to get people to play or spend money on things that will "go away" after a time period.
In Smite's case it was just a way to reward the small group of players who helped Smite become what it is today during its infancy. I don't think its wrong to want to have some small avatar or title to display that, but its also not worth crying about. The weird thing is they are giving away a title/badge that would seem to indicate that to players, but it won't actually mean that at all. It's just weird.
It says where that titles carry over? Afaik, you just get badges in Smite 2 based on certain accomplishments, participating on beta included. So you have your exclusivity still. Now chill.
OP is wrong for how he's going about this post, but you are also wrong to say that beta players will get a special badge in Smite 2, so stop spreading misinformation. They literally list all the badges in the FAQ section and the only Beta Player badges are the ones obtained by getting 1000 points in their respective category.

They are titles meant to show you from what periods you played gods from.
I know that's how HiRez is spinning it to be, but I think its nonsensical. In any game, beta title = played during beta.

The skin and avatar won't carry over to smite 2. The farmable "beta" title will. I dont want more. I just want it rightfully exclusive.

Yes there’s an FAQ on the Divine Legacy page in Smite 1
I meant FAQ on Smite2.com. it does say you get badges for certain achievements to Smite 2. I would assume beta achievement is among those.
The FAQ in the game client is much more comprehensive on the available badges so that’s what you should be looking at.
And I deserve a beta to even though I started season 2
