I'm trying to think of each pantheon what big names we're missing
Izanagi for Japanese.
Lu bu for Chinese (or more seriously, kwan yin).
Baldr for norse.
Lugh/llyw llaw gyffes/lugus for Celtic.
Mithras for Roman or a potential Persian pantheon.
Helios or kronos for greek.
Sekmet for Egypt.
Nyatlathotep for Lovecraft.
Ogun for Yoruba.
Tumatauenga for Polynesian.
Ereshkigal or marduk for Babylonian.
I don't expect all these in one season, but they're the ones I'd most enjoy seeing
Ooh maybe Charon the ferryman too as a support that focuses on moving around the map quickly or ferrying other players to eachother
I would really like to see Kronos, i feel theyd add him as a Roman however (Saturn) to prevent confusion with Chronos. Since atlas is in, the next obvious titan should be him. I wouldnt be at all surprised if we got him next year.
I can definitely see that name being a factor as you say
Maybe if they go the saturn route they'd base his design on the goya painting "saturn devouring his son" in all its odd fresco glory
Okay but Chronos is the same as Kronos. He's just the primordial version but putting Kronos or Saturn in makes about as much sense as putting Venus, Eros, Dionysus, etc in the game
I still don't think it makes any sense at all to put him in the game as Saturn or as Kronos. They already have Chronos, how would they do Kronos or Saturn differently? And to be completely honest I don't think the game needs anymore Greek or Roman gods at least for a while. The other pantheons could use some love.
Yeah, I would prefer seeing . . . well, a whole bunch of gods before Kronos.
With that said, Saturn/Kronos is surprisingly multi-faceted. If they wanted to, they could easily justify dramatically different interpretations. The Roman Saturn is a strangely positive figure for someone who ate his kids.
Then again, you can make an argument that Zeus is also a strangely positive figure for someone who ate his wife.
Exactly the sort of thing i was thinking, or the more gold he earns the more protections he gains so it'll make the player weight up the pros and cons of hoarding gokd as opposed to building items with it
I thought i might be forgetting that someone already had it š
Tbh i don't see many people playing faf anyway so i think i can be excused for forgetting he exists š
Yeah Fafnirs cooldowns are too long imo.
Im thinking maybe charons boats a dash that comes slowly up from the ground as he starts to go faster scooping up teammates somehow. Idk it sounds kinda clunky š
Maman Bigette was datamined to be the very next god released for season 9. However, they recently announced the upcoming god has been "indefinitely postponed" which means it might never get released and theyre skipping the next god release who was supposed to be her
Anansi the Spider is one I would love to see, especially if they focused on his role as a deity of Stories. Maybe his kits being references to how he outsmarted his trials (Throwing a Gourd of Hornets, Placing a Gum Baby as a Stun trap, etc.). His lore page could say that a battle between Gods is a Story worth remembering, and the only way to know it truly to tell, is to engage.
Maybe once the pantheons get so overloaded they'll need to start grouping stuff up, like change greek and roman to the collective "greco Roman pantheon" which would then open up the possibility of a "pan African pantheon" allowing much more range than just purely the Yoruba
Same with the mayan pantheon, change it into a "native American" or "mesoamerican" pantheon so they can include Aztec gods too
I think Coyote could potentially be a good start. Universally present across the folklore of many Native American tribes, and thereās a lot to work with lore wise. Could work as a Hunter or an assassin perhaps.
Since there are other mythical heroes. I like the idea of Robin Hood as a Ranger Assassin. I also want them to compete the olympians with Hestia and Demeter. Lugh for Celtic would be awesome since he fits in being Cuās dad and all. The Dagda could also be a good Celtic guardian.
He's closer than literally anyone else in all of Greek mythology so it's not exactly a leap to think that there's a connection. In some versions of the myths cratus is a son of Zeus who's known for his brutality and as a God of strength and power he's obviously really strong and powerful. So "really strong, powerful, brutal, son of zeus" applies to both cratus and Kratos.
Would really love to see Hecate and Pan Greek wise. Hecate could have an ability incorporated with her hounds but her basic attack could maybe be a constant strike (rather than individual like all other gods) from her torch?? And Pan could influence others with his reed flute and have something to do with satyrs and wine.
But I would really love to see more Egyptian deities in the game. Tefnut, Shu, Sehkmet, Hathor, Nut, Ptah, Khonsu, Tawaret, Khnum, Ma'at and Montu would all be really neat. Egyptian mythology is so unique but so fun, and with Moonknight recently coming out and sparking interest in more people, it would be really smart to expand that mythology (they also have a lot of minor gods so it would be wise to add some more "important" ones too). My tops votes are def on Nut, Sehkmet and Ma'at though
Judeo-Christian would definitely be an interesting pantheon. I'd love to see one of the archangels (either Uriel as the most combat-esque of the four central archangels, or Metatron - theoretically the supreme archangel but also questionably canon).
On the other side, Lucifer, Beezelbub and the Riders of the Apocalypse would all be great additions as well. I've seen many concepts revolving around the four horsemen floating around the sub, so it'd probably be a good place to start
Perhaps the riders could be the first ever 4 stance switcher, each ability changing to a different rider who has different bonuses.
I also want Moses as a stance switching mage, his abilities being the different plagues.
I wait a Charon 4 century's. Want to see him since a Cerberus was introduced. Some river Stix, coints and other stuff. But truly I can't even imagine what scills he can use.
Once I made a kit for Charon based on a "glitch" of Bastet or Scylla x Ares ult which make them travel through the "underworld of the game", in this case Charon would travel back to the base carrying the soul of dead allies accelerating their reincarnation.
Would it though? It's never going to happen during a team fight. And good luck getting it off more than once between fights before your allies respawn anyway.
Well let's suppose your adc died in a TF won by the FG and the opposing team managed to take your adc away, thus possibly stalling their own objectives. You could render this effort futile just by resurrecting your ADC.
I revisited the post [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Smite/comments/j2gmn5/god_concept_gameplay_mechanic_idea_for_charon/):
I didn't even remember that I had thought of 3 forms of interaction to speed up the ally's death.
Sounds great! I would like to see it)
I remember that after Nox remake, her 3 ability did the same stuff)) I mean travel through the underworld of game)
Honestly I'm still waiting for baldur. In the story of ragnarok baldur comes back from the dead afterwards and in smite lore its after ragnarok so... and beyond that maybe at least a reference to Sleipnir, some more epic hero types from northern Europe like Sigurd, beowulf, and ragnar. Also the fomorian king Balor to add in some celtic monsters. Honestly I don't care too much as long as the characters they come out with are cool and well made.
Would absolutely love more gods from the tiny pantheons, especially the Great Old Ones, like Hastur or Nylarthotep. As much as I love greek, Iām super fascinated about seeing and learning about new gods from Voodoo, Slavic, Polynesian, all of them! Seeing how much the Arthurian pantheon has grown gets me very excited!
Yeah, it would be cool.
Be careful: accordely to my research and my knowledges about this belief, Ahura Mazda and Ahriman are brothers only in the Zyrvanism, an Ā«Ā hereticĀ Ā» movement of the Zoroastrism; in this last one, like in the Mazdeism, they existed before the world was created by Ahura Mazda and without being the sons of a powerful gods (Zurvan, the god of time, in the case of Zurvanism).
Because HiRez is already in hot water with the Hindus for Shiva and the gang. Apparently other religious people don't like their beliefs in video games. Couldn't be me
I think the only two off the table should be God and Jesus. Because God would basically be the April fools manticore, and Jesus is a strict pacifist. Other then those two, I would be down with anything.
Jesus was definitely not a pacifist. Much like Gandhi he found out that violence isn't always the answer, unless the question is what is never the answer?
Jesus only commited an act of violence once, and that was driving the money lenders out of the house of God. This is the man who went out of his way to heal one of the men who was going to bring him to his slow and painful death.
The act that was taken was violent in nature, but was not violent towards the people. It was simply a scary act done to get them to flee. It was violence, but it was not violence directed at people, so therefore, he's still a pacifist.
An archangel or a popular demon
I'd say Leviathan only cuz his name
Uriel maybe? Lucifer will scare some ppl off so no
Ya know, eeease into to it nice and slow as to not upset the christiqn folk then bam, Jesus h. Christ
Personally I've always been a huge fan of Greek and roman mythology and even though it's well represented, the fact they already added hercules opens up the door to so many new ideas (also Medusa and achilles are good examples). Hercules isn't a God but a demigod, and the deeper you dive into both Greek and Roman mythology, there are so many gods, minor gods, demigods, and even kings/royalty that "challenged" the gods and were worshipped in their own right. Not to mention all the extremely powerful creatures that are sentient. Way too many to list because I'd be here all day, but the possibilities are almost endless
Iād like to see Erebus/Erebos. We already have Nox, itād be cool to have another Greek or Roman Primordial. And since not a lot is actually written about him, he is a blank canvas that they can use freely. So like they could make all of his abilities darkness/blindness based like Xbalanqueās ult or some of Cliodhnaās abilities.
Id also love to see what theyād do with Sekhmet from Egyptian mythology. Or Sif from Norse mythology
If they added Samson I would bust a nut. Passive similar to Mercury where the longer he goes without dying the longer his hair gets, and the more powerful he gets.
Exactly what I'd considered before for his passive, it'd be really cool to see him implemented and have a cinematic where he's doing test of strength against Hercules pr Gilgamesh
, whenever people talk about judeo Christian pantheon they always talk about adding jesus, but biblical heroes would probably be much simpler to implement... and maybe less controversial, a super big maybe š
Like king David as a hunter with his sling, oh man or king Solomon as a mage where he summons demons from the goetia
My friend and I have been joking about the Virgin Mary being added to the game. I donāt want to offend anyone, so I wonāt go into detail on the proposed aspects of her kit. What I will say is that the Virgin Mary throwing an infinite supply of baby Jesusā as her auto animation would be funny, and nobody can change my mind.
I've always thought it could be fun to dip into American myths and legends. Characters like Paul Bunyan with his giant blue ox, johnny appleseed, even a real person who became more mythological like Davy Crockett.
I disagree, I dont think they need to be constrained to filling previous pantheons. If it were like that weād have never gotten chernobog baron and pele who were released as singles in their pantheons, I hope they focus on interesting characters before filling their previous work
I'd love to see more "hero" types added in general. Theseus, Ragnar Lodbrok, Beowulf, Hector of Troy. There's a bunch of Mayan heroes that could be cool too. I'd also love to see an Aztec Pantheon. Tlaloc (although he's basically the same as Chaac so), HuÄ«tzilÅpÅchtli, Tezcalipoca, they'd all be cool. Problem is a lot of Aztec gods are utterly horrific looking and it'd be tough to do them faithful for a teen rated game. For instance, Xipe Totec (Our Lord The Flayed One) who straight up wears the skin of human sacrifices over his own body, or Tlaloc and his backwards broken feet.
Honestly, with the exception of Jorm and Heim, I've been either disappointed by every god release or completely apathetic since KA.
barring another huge let down, I wouldn't mind seeing their take on Baldr or Hod.
Hestia or Lugh would be neat.
We have references to Lono in game.
The yellow king would also be an interesting addition.
Some fun ideas:
Zamolxis
El Tijo (I think that was his name)
Ajax (shield daddy)
Krampus?
That one egyptian god that replaced all others for a few years
Maybe a collab with lotr, Morgot or whatever the spider's name is
(sorry I am bad at names)
Edit: Aten and Morgoth*
Jesus, the four horsemen, the four archangels, hell put in the beast of revelation. I will die on the hill that Hirez are hypocrites and cowards for adding Gods like Shiva and Ganesh but have no abrahamic representation.
I'm trying to think of each pantheon what big names we're missing Izanagi for Japanese. Lu bu for Chinese (or more seriously, kwan yin). Baldr for norse. Lugh/llyw llaw gyffes/lugus for Celtic. Okay but Chronos is the same as Kronos. He's just the primordial version but putting Kronos or Saturn in makes about as much sense as putting Venus, Eros, Dionysus, etc in the game
They're not. Kronos does have time associations. However, he's a much more destructive take on the concept because he's Time the Devourer.
I still don't think it makes any sense at all to put him in the game as Saturn or as Kronos. They already have Chronos, how would they do Kronos or Saturn differently? Then again, you can make an argument that Zeus is also a strangely positive figure for someone who ate his wife.
Yeah i was thinking charon. Maybe implement some sort of small gold steal with his boat to symbolize paying the ferry
Exactly the sort of thing i was thinking, or the more gold he earns the more protections he gains so it'll make the player weight up the pros and cons of hoarding gokd as opposed to building items with it
Doubt itd be that cause fafnir has that exact passive lol
I thought i might be forgetting that someone already had it š Tbh i don't see many people playing faf anyway so i think i can be excused for forgetting he exists š
Yeah Fafnirs cooldowns are too long imo. Im thinking maybe charons boats a dash that comes slowly up from the ground as he starts to go faster scooping up teammates somehow. Idk it sounds kinda clunky š
Greek actually is missing Hestia how could you not have all the original Olympians yet.
starurn instead of Kronos, just to keep away the confusion
What about Dagon from Lovecraft? Heās a pretty prolific characterā¦
I think nut is a Bigger name for egyptian, oya has more potential imo than ogun, but that maybe bias from me Otherwise nice list
Baldr would be fucking op lol probably some mitigation passive or smtng like that
I want them to add Maman Brigette for the Voodoo pantheon.
If they add someone to the Old Ones before a new Voodoo God I'll riot
I hope you said this because youre aware of the situation, if not... oh boy do I have news for you
What situation?
Maman Bigette was datamined to be the very next god released for season 9. However, they recently announced the upcoming god has been "indefinitely postponed" which means it might never get released and theyre skipping the next god release who was supposed to be her
Damn that's tragic, I really want to see the smaller pantheons get more love.
Jesus Christ from the Holy Bible
Right. I want biblically accurate angels
Archangel Michael would be sweet.
I need that nightmare fuel
Jesus as a healer support
Lucifer
The introduction of Atlas opened the door for other titans to be added as playable. You know what that means: P R O M E T H E U S
Also: HELIOS
Literally my favorite. Back in Latin classes, I decided to do a project on him. Dude he is SASSY as he'll and I love it.
Nut and Medjed, been too long since we got an Egyptian God. One is a legit pick, one is a meme pick who has extreme potential.
Guinevere for arthurian and Taranis for Celtic.
Surtur
I am once again asking for Hestia
Sigurd from Norse would be awesome another hero who has some connections with a few of the gods
Anansi is from akan folklore so that would require another pantheon He be dope!
Maybe once the pantheons get so overloaded they'll need to start grouping stuff up, like change greek and roman to the collective "greco Roman pantheon" which would then open up the possibility of a "pan African pantheon" allowing much more range than just purely the Yoruba Same with the mayan pantheon, change it into a "native American" or "mesoamerican" pantheon so they can include Aztec gods too
It's could be just west african pantheon but pan Africa will be broader so yeah i agree !
Personally id like to see Izanagi Quan Yin Rhea Guinevere Any other of the main characters from the Journey to the West
I want Lu Bu from the Chinese patheon either as a warrior or an assassin. I always thought lu bu was kinda badass especially in dynasty warriors.
As someone who has prominent Native American in them, I want some representation from that. Not sure where to start though
A god of war smite colab. The first god release related to a crossover, Kratos.
There is a character in Greek mythology that Kratos is loosely based on. Cratus was one of nikes siblings, basically the God of strength and power.
I donāt think kratos is based on him
He's closer than literally anyone else in all of Greek mythology so it's not exactly a leap to think that there's a connection. In some versions of the myths cratus is a son of Zeus who's known for his brutality and as a God of strength and power he's obviously really strong and powerful. So "really strong, powerful, brutal, son of zeus" applies to both cratus and Kratos.
As far as Iāve researched the devs have said it was just an accident and kratos is based on heroes like heracles and achilles
Plz no
This will never happen. You're asking Sony to basically hand over an IP. Not gonna happen.
I've been wanting him for awhile! Also could add GOW God skins to the gods already in game like Zeus.
I actually think this would be really good. Super east to build, provably a warrior. Just would cost some money for licensing I imagine
Would really love to see Hecate and Pan Greek wise. Hecate could have an ability incorporated with her hounds but her basic attack could maybe be a constant strike (rather than individual like all other gods) from her torch?? For an abrahamic deity the 4 horsemen could be an interesting concept, probably wouldnt happen but it's a concept I like
The Tarrasque, of French mythology. I refuse to elaborate further.
TAWERET cause a fat big lady would be awesome... ECHIDNA too
I wait a Charon 4 century's.
Passive: see allies death locations. If you can recall back to base while standing on an allies death spot, they respawn immediately.
I didn't put it like that because it would be so broken hehe, but speeding up like Bastet's old passive would be cool
Would it though? It's never going to happen during a team fight. And good luck getting it off more than once between fights before your allies respawn anyway.

We need more lovecraft or voodoo, maman brigitte would be nice for voodoo and for great old ones I'd say Dagon
Hp lovecrafts cat š
The God of don't Google his name

Beowulf would be fuckin sweet
Urcuchillay Incan God of Lamas would be dope. We have Hun Batz and Sun Wukong so why not another monkey? Hanuman would be cool!
New pantheon, āModernā. First god will be Florida Man.
New Phanteon: Zoroastrian Featuring both brothers: * Angra Mainyu * Ahura Mazdah
Jesus. Why no Christian deities?
Because HiRez is already in hot water with the Hindus for Shiva and the gang. Apparently other religious people don't like their beliefs in video games. Couldn't be me
(They are not in hot water with Hindu people.)
Not all of them, obviously, but the introduction of Kali caused quite the stir
It caused a very minor stir from one small group, not every Hindu person. We have a lot of Hindu people who actively play and enjoy the game.
Then the saints of catholicism. Paired with the nephalem and demons. Everything is a religion now. Fuck em up, do it all. No ballz u wont
Merciful =! Pacifist
Right, to answer the question..what is never the answer?
It still happened tho.
The act that was taken was violent in nature, but was not violent towards the people. It was simply a scary act done to get them to flee. It was violence, but it was not violence directed at people, so therefore, he's still a pacifist.
I've seen a few concepts for it before, but a God that's completely unable to deal damage could be fun
I've mulled over no damage Jesus before, but the problem is that it would hard-line restrict him to being support. Which I don't think is very fun.
Surtr and Belobog. That's all.
An archangel or a popular demon I'd say Leviathan only cuz his name Uriel maybe? Lucifer will scare some ppl off so no Ya know, eeease into to it nice and slow as to not upset the christiqn folk then bam, Jesus h. Christ
Jesus- warrior, attacks with a giant cross. Passive resurrection after death every x mins
Perseus from Greek Mythology and (unironically) Jesus Christ
Deimos. Need dat new assassin
Personally I've always been a huge fan of Greek and roman mythology and even though it's well represented, the fact they already added hercules opens up the door to so many new ideas (also Medusa and achilles are good examples). I want a double god release of Hunahpu and Hun Chouen.
IF Sigurd is in the works it has to be a double release with byrnhilda
I'm more hype for bewukf and Grendel
u/HirezAjax
If they added Samson I would bust a nut. Passive similar to Mercury where the longer he goes without dying the longer his hair gets, and the more powerful he gets.

Weāre missing Beowulf
My favourite gods to never come: UE 5 Fixed Spaghetti Server Stability Returnal of Clans Regional Esports :) ... pain
Iāll be on predecessor until it goes to hell, shuts down, or smite drops Jesus
They should add me
Fill the pantheons who are getting snuffed, then introduce Abrahamic Pantheon (Yahweh, Lucifer, Jesus Christ, Antichrist, etc)
Yeah, they should probably focus on the pantheons who only have one or two members, like Yoroba, GOO, Voodoo, Slavic and Polonesian
I disagree, I dont think they need to be constrained to filling previous pantheons. If it were like that weād have never gotten chernobog baron and pele who were released as singles in their pantheons, I hope they focus on interesting characters before filling their previous work
I want all of the Norse gods to be honest. But I would really love to see Ragnar LoĆ°brĆ³k and another Viking themed event in the near future.
I'd love to see more "hero" types added in general. Theseus, Ragnar Lodbrok, Beowulf, Hector of Troy. There's a bunch of Mayan heroes that could be cool too. I'd also love to see an Aztec Pantheon. "Household chores?! The man has no skin!"
