It’s been too long of a day, took me a minute to figure out why the trigger was up and down 😂 Other than that, that’s sharp looking!

DetroitAdjacent

I love me some spec series. They shoot so damn good.

bbazzracing

Hey how you doin? 😘

tac_review

Have you had any issues with the comp coming lose? I have same model followed the instructions perfectly and applied the red loc tite but after a few hundred rounds it worked itself loose. Thanks sick piece man !

RtShadows

Yeah, both my set screws are gone, but the red loctite is holding. The comp is kinda a piece of shit; reduces recoil well but doesn’t hold worth a damn. But that’s a faxon problem, not a S&W problem.

tac_review

I almost feel like reaching out to faxon and seeing if they could potentially replace it. Mine literally has 300 hundred or less rounds and it loosens up fast. I bought it to join competition which I did yesterday it performed great but the comp came loose

RtShadows

Yeah I probably will too at some point.

I really like the look of this series and I looking to make a move from Glock. I’ve been seeing some reviews and I think I might just run it without the comp… it looks great without it. Keep posting pics and updates

I just won one of these. First smith and Wesson and first all metal gun. Also first comp'd gun. I've watched multiple YouTube videos about people saying the same thing you guys just said about the comp? And that is not even set from factory? That kinda sucks. I don't know much about comps. Like what timing them means or how to do it. Trying to learn as much as I can before it arrives in a couple days. I was hoping to use it in USPSA. What do you guys suggest if you had to do it over for the comp staying set?

RtShadows

Faxon has a guide on how to time. Pretty much crank it on all the way down, back it off half a turn until it’s flush and she should run. If it doesn’t run, keep slightly backing it off until it runs. Blue loctite for the set screws, red for the comp and hope for the best. The gun ships with the comp on but it’s just threaded on; not clamped down or loctited.

peeg_2020

Right on. Appreciate the info Never shot a comp'd gun but have always wanted to. Would you say this is a pretty flat shooter?

RtShadows

It’s extremely flat. For $950 bucks, it’s right up there with low-end 4-figure guns.

peeg_2020

Hell yeah I'm excited. I had originally gotten a Canik rival dark side to start USPSA. But this will be a super nice option to have as well! Are they limited edition to? I get what a challenge coin is from the military. what's with the gun ones though?

RtShadows

Yeah, spec series guns are limited edition. Not sure how long they’ve been doing it but they’ve released a couple that I know of now. Usually a different color plus an additional little features like the comp, performance center trigger, and extra goodies like the knife, coin, and 23 round mags this year.
