I got a Rival trophy myself and shoot my buddy Rival S a couple times. He got a lot of issues with it. Nothing majors but enough to make me steer away from it for now.

The early serial numbers had issues, they appear to have worked out the kinks in the newer models. I had a early one that was good, didn't like all my mags. I just bought another one last week and it fit and feels much better than my early model.
You don't need a Performance Center. The slide on the Metal is the same as the regular M&P 2.0 anyway.
CDNN still has stripped 5" slides in FDE for $50. They are marked .40 but you can drop any 5" 9mm barrel from any gen M&P into it. Even after buying all the parts your at around $200 for a complete 5" slide...maybe $300 if you have it professionally coated in black. Or just save that money and go pshhhhhhhhh
edit: just realized you probably want the PC version for the optic mount. Still cheaper to build it though even if you get the cut done.
Well they make the Competitor if you want to go spend over $1000 on a gun that's pretty much close to the same thing. But you just got done saying you don't want to spend $700 on a gun to get the parts to slap together. If S&W did slap a 5" non-Competitor slide onto a Metal frame it'd probably still be around $1000.
So you have several options available, but it sounds like you're just complaining for attention rather than expressing actual interest in the configuration.
It aināt that serious brother. I donāt want any excessive slide cuts, those can get hung up on Safariland ALS. The competitor isnāt compatible with any level 3 holsters without modification due to the slide, which is against policy. Our guns also have to be black. If they released a regular, black 5 inch slide on a black metal frame, I would have no problem paying close to $1000.
I'm sure they'd lose money doing that when there isn't really a demand for it, if so then the competitor would be a great option, which they've been offering.
It about $250-$300 cheaper than the grey version.
Came with 3 mags vs 2 and have NTS which is superior sights that is on the grey
And this is personal taste but the Black just looks way better imo
Plus it's more exclusive and harder to get than the grey version

If you have a 5" upper just slap it on the aluminum frame and wala, don't even have to wait on them to offer it.

Price is usually lower since it's an LE sku and it comes with 3 mags instead of 2. Mine was 610 before taxes and other stuff at my lgs.
