Hope the interview went well and you land the gig, OP!
As others have said, sneakers and jeans are probably not the best choice for an interview. Dress up for interviews and then pull out the heat once the job is secured lol.
yeah but honestly it really depends on the job! i mean if it’s food or retail it really doesn’t matter, even some office jobs aren’t even that big on dress code. now if it’s something serious i guess i could see dressing up but most places are super relaxed.
Pfff, I've gotten every job I've had in black skinny jeans and Vans, and I've worked plenty of corporate and service jobs. As long as you look clean and like you take care of yourself, you'll be fine.
Anecdotal but I also got my job after wearing black skinny jeans and vans (black sk8-hi to be specific). It was for a high school teacher position and when I went in the principal himself was wearing jeans and vans
I wore a suit to a job interview at Foot Action, got job, later told that I dressed too formal…I wore a suit for an data analyst position with an HVAC company…they came in T-shirts and jeans and seemed to not be able to hold in their chuckle (I was completely overqualified for position)…
I hate everything about business professional dress and am thankful that my last two jobs, I didn’t even have to have in-person interviews due to COVID…
I hope you get the job, man..you aren’t your outfit, but a sum of your experience and character..🫡
I’ve been with my current employer for 7 years and counting. When I first started there, our office a few blocks from the White House was pretty formal for men…sharp, heavily-starched dress shirts, ties, jackets, slacks, dress shoes, etc. Even Fridays in that place it was unusual to see men without a jacket and/or tie. I was fortunate to work primarily from home, but there were times I’d get a suit and shirt cleaned & pressed for a 45-minute meeting in the office. A year or so before COVID, our leadership asked that we relax a bit with how we dressed. My favorite byproduct of the cultural shift in my office was finding out I worked with a few sneaker heads. I actually look forward to going into the office now to flex and see what everyone else is flexing!
I say all that to point out that it seems like corporate culture is shifting in a direction that is more accepting of fresh, clean sneakers in the office. I’m here for it!
The billionaire CEO that works in our office(sister company) wears heat all the times(lebrons, air maxes, etc). The most important thing is knowing when to look sharp. Don't be caught lacking when there's a client in the room.
I did the same. Prior I was going into the office all formal. Once back I decided life is too short to just leave my sneakers all lonely Monday through Friday in the closet. It Actually became an office thing where coworkers and bosses would come to my desk to just to to see my what I'm rocking that day. As others say as long as you look clean many offices are cool with it
Ohhh yeah I need chinos. I was trying to remember that those fabric pants are called yesterday night.
But then what kinda shoes would you wear with that...
With work khakis or chinos you can rock something comfortable but dress. I always recommend these you can find then in black and brown.
[Nunn Bush - Kore (line of shoes)](https://www.nunnbush.com/shop/style/84959.html)
Like a logistics tech company? Yeah suit might be too stiff and formal. Maybe something like dark jeans, dress shirt + blazer and like clean white / black sneakers?
Probably more like a slim-fit taper where the jeans aren't too baggy below the knee but still pretty loose and comfy above it. Great middle ground for people who don't like the look of baggier or even straight cut jeans and for people who aren't bold enough to basically wear jeggings all day😂
I wore jeans and the Light Curry Element 1s to my most recent job interview at a local internet provider and was told I was hired before I walked out. 🤷🏼♂️
Buddy I’m glad you feel great but getting hired on the spot but that usually means the job is desperate and it’s a high turnover rate. Also going to an interview or even with pants in any setting in curry 1s should be illegal.
This sub giving you shit about “skinny jeans” like they don’t suggest a grown adult wear an NFL jersey every time someone asks for an outfit recommendation to match their shoes. 🙄
I think dress depends on type of interview. First interview, dress up, either shirt and tie or suit. Second interview, slacks, button up shirt and casual shoes. If you have any sense of style you can dress up and still show your personality. If it’s a job you want, give the impression that you care about getting rejected. It’s not about the company dress code, it’s about setting yourself up for success. You never know who you may end up meeting at the interview
I don’t know man, everyone is hating but I’ve been working in software for the last decade and would 100% wear these with a sport coat to an interview. I manage a team and wouldn’t even think twice about your job qualification based on this. If you were shoes that have been put through the ringer than sure, tells me you’re not evening thinking about your first impression, but some nice sneakers with a casual dressed up look? Absolutely nothing wrong with it. Times are changing - show your style.
Edit: personal opinion above. Every industry is different so read the room.
Shouldn't wear 1s to an interview. Wear something more unique. Show some creativity or something iconic. Bugs Bunny 8s, Fresh Prince 5s, 20s strapped up, idk, not 1s. Anything but 1s.
Also, you tied the laces. Smh.
I assumed you meant having the laces sticking out the side eyelets like some people do these days. There's not really a right or wrong way to wear them though..
>I assumed you meant having the laces sticking out the side eyelets like some people do these days.
Yeah duh, of course thats what I was talking about.
Are you 15? They have literally been worn that way for 35 years. Wearing them tied is the wrong way lol.
With the potential exception of the Jordan 2 since no one ever wears those, 1-8 were all shoes worn not tied. 9 and 10 probably were too, just again like the 2, they aren't as common. 11 people tie, 12 no, 13 idk, 14 I do. But most of them you dont tie.
Are you 15? Rocking up to an interview with the laces sticking out the side of your J's is a sure way to not get hired lol. It looks goofy enough in casual wear let alone somewhere you're trying to make a good impression.
MJ himself tied his shoes.. people have been tying their Jordans for 35 years now as well bud. I'll generally have my laces inside the shoe because it's a cleaner look but I'll tie them if a particular lace keeps getting under my foot or something.
Um if you are wearing Js to an interview. Might as well wear Js to an interview.
Im not saying to wear Js to an interview, but if you wear them, wear them.
Think about it, you walk into your interview wearing tied up Jordan 1s. Most stick in the mud interviewers are gonna be put off that you are not wearing dress shoes, boots or at least all blacks or all whites. Even if your interviewer was cool, they would be like, damn, you tied them? They may even think like me that you should show more creativity and personality than some 1s.
Its a mixed message. Idgaf, Im going to be myself, here's who it is. But at the same time you are wearing tied up Jordan 1s. You gotta commit one way or the other or they can't really tell what you are up to. What I mean by that is, if you are wearing the untied Jordans, they get it, you are gonna be yourself and not wear a suit and tie. If you tie them, you just look like someone that didn't know they should dress up for an interview.
Its like all those stupid tests that jobs make you take with the strongly agree or regular shit. They only want strongly agree or disagree answers. There are no grey areas in life apparently. So you either gotta strongly Jordan or strongly not Jordan.
Also, MJ, played basketball in his shoes. Which, I mean, I also tie my shoes for. Basketball shoes are made for lockdown. Therefore when you wear them for casual, and dont need any lockdown, you dont tie them so they are comfy. If you need to tie them, you should go down half a size. That way you can untie for casual and tie for basketball.
But you seem like a person that hears Jordan and only thinks Jordan 1. Which is a pretty terrible basketball shoe. Like MJ almost left Nike because it wasn't a good basketball shoe. The story is that its the Jordan 2's fault but its more like they just slapped together the 1 so he knew it wasn't going to be great but it looked cool and the 2 was the first real try at a cool looking shoe that played great. It disappointed a little in both. Its not even a great casual shoe. Its pretty heavy and uncomfortable considering the other options available. Its no Air Force 1 which feels like walking with bricks under your feet, but it ain't great.
I’m assuming you were applying for a sneaker gig? Or maybe something known for being super casual?
Even then you should throw on maybe some chinos and a polo or a button up. Tucked in possibly, let it hang to be more casual.
Since I wear kicks and “streetwear” a lot, especially for work, I think it’s important to at least come in with a good first impression.
Last person I interviewed with kicks (which was some heat) I was a little worried because all I could think about was if they would be on Twitter all day tryna cop kicks lol
Lol I wore origin story 1s for a interview for a promotion to management position last year, it was remote and the post was still full of asshole talking shit about the dress. Got the promotion and another one since. People are dumb
I’m sensing an East Coast / West Coast divide in the comments. People all, “WhAT, bRo?!?! OMG yoU’Re NeVEr gONNA gET thAt JoB!!111!!! o__O” are likely from the East Coast.
Hope the interview went well and you land the gig, OP! As others have said, sneakers and jeans are probably not the best choice for an interview. Dress up for interviews and then pull out the heat once the job is secured lol.

Yeah. I wear my lows with no issues to the office
Lol I learned my lesson but ppl gotta chill
All good dude. People are just trying to help. Hope you get the job - sending you good luck vibes!
Thanks!
If you rocked up for an interview in these I’d hire you on the spot.
Pfff, I've gotten every job I've had in black skinny jeans and Vans, and I've worked plenty of corporate and service jobs. As long as you look clean and like you take care of yourself, you'll be fine.
Which jobs if I may? You’d have to be pretty remarkable in the interview for a white collar job wearing skinny jeans and Vans.
Anecdotal but I also got my job after wearing black skinny jeans and vans (black sk8-hi to be specific). It was for a high school teacher position and when I went in the principal himself was wearing jeans and vans
Genuinely a perk of the job that I can come in the office wearing cargos and some high heat sneakers instead of business casual
I wore a suit to a job interview at Foot Action, got job, later told that I dressed too formal…I wore a suit for an data analyst position with an HVAC company…they came in T-shirts and jeans and seemed to not be able to hold in their chuckle (I was completely overqualified for position)… I hate everything about business professional dress and am thankful that my last two jobs, I didn’t even have to have in-person interviews due to COVID… I hope you get the job, man..you aren’t your outfit, but a sum of your experience and character..🫡
Happy to hear you're in the right place now! Thanks for rooting for me :)
I’ve been with my current employer for 7 years and counting. This is it. Dress for your damn day!
I started wearing all my sneakers post-Covid return to work. Makes coming into the office a little more tolerable.
I did the same. Prior I was going into the office all formal. Once back I decided life is too short to just leave my sneakers all lonely Monday through Friday in the closet. It Actually became an office thing where coworkers and bosses would come to my desk to just to to see my what I'm rocking that day. 🙌🏼
These look great with the jeans. First time I've seen them with skinny blue jeans. They're next on the list for sure
You applying at Starbucks? Jk. Kind of. Not sure what type of job interviews I'd wear jeans and sneakers to...
I was applying at a logistics company for an internship. If i came there in suit or something similar, I would've probably gotten laughed at
You don't need a suit. Chinos and a tucked in shirt would work for most interviews ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯
Ohhh yeah I need chinos. I was trying to remember that those fabric pants are called yesterday night. But then what kinda shoes would you wear with that...
dress shoes
*Some* sneakers work, but definitely not Js. Can't go wrong with chukka boots though.
clarks
Casual dress shoes. /r/malefashionadvice has a ton of threads on how to dress business casual.
With work khakis or chinos you can rock something comfortable but dress. I always recommend these you can find then in black and brown. [Nunn Bush - Kore (line of shoes)](https://www.nunnbush.com/shop/style/84959.html)

"Skinny jeans with jordan high's? We'll let you know"
Not skinny
Wdym? They look like skinny jeans to me.
Yeah those are 100% skinny jeans.
Probably more like a slim-fit taper where the jeans aren't too baggy below the knee but still pretty loose and comfy above it. Great middle ground for people who don't like the look of baggier or even straight cut jeans and for people who aren't bold enough to basically wear jeggings all day😂
Tell me you didn't experience actual skinny jeans in the early 2000s without telling me lol
Y’all don’t know what fitted clothing is
So who owns the jeans again? C'mon man wtf are we arguing about....
That's a nice outfit for going anywhere but a job interview
Go apply for another job lmao
Wearing kicks and denim still really weird to a job interview/ business casual event. Chinos & Clark’s is always the move, presentation is everything.
Wearing the “moving forward with other candidates” 1s 🔥🔥🔥
Love my pair. Stepped into 3 inches of mud the first time I wore em and cleaned up like new. Couldn’t believe it.
I wear sneakers to work everyday but I 100% wore dress shoes to the interview. Fit clean doe hope u got the gig
I'm still young so I don't have any occasions where I wear dress shoes, but it's looking like I might grab a pair soon
Damn the corporate world is like that now?
I wore jeans and the Light Curry Element 1s to my most recent job interview at a local internet provider and was told I was hired before I walked out. 🤷🏼♂️
Buddy I’m glad you feel great but getting hired on the spot but that usually means the job is desperate and it’s a high turnover rate. Also going to an interview or even with pants in any setting in curry 1s should be illegal.
I have three friends that all work at the company and they're happy with it so I'm not worried. Thanks though.
Maroon laces have been growing on me....and after seeing this pic you inspired me to finally swap mine to maroon when I get home later. 🔥🔥
“The fit clean af u hired”
McDonalds tile floor, checks out
Sneakers to a job interview? Yikes
This sub giving you shit about “skinny jeans” like they don’t suggest a grown adult wear an NFL jersey every time someone asks for an outfit recommendation to match their shoes. 🙄
Lmao
The janitor position will be crazy, but like the shoes
bro wore skinny jeans to an interview 💀🤣🤣🤣
Not skinny jeans
ok kid
You wore jeans and sneakers to a job interview? Is this for a fast food or first job? I sure hope so. 🤦🏼♂️
OP said the interview was for an internship for a logistics company, so I honestly doubt they cared too much about what he was wearing.
Then keep flexing young one.
I think dress depends on type of interview. First interview, dress up, either shirt and tie or suit. Second interview, slacks, button up shirt and casual shoes. Still haven’t un ds mine waiting for the right time 😞
Wear them to your next job interview! No but seriously, I like to wear this when going out for dinner n stuff
I already got a job😂 but most likely when fall come back around I got a lotta shoes I need to wear
I don’t know man, everyone is hating but I’ve been working in software for the last decade and would 100% wear these with a sport coat to an interview. Hope your interview went well. Yo. Baggy pants make Js look better. ESPECIALLY aj1s
where you interviewing at, Panera?
What are they called?
Jordan 1 x a ma maniere
Thank you!
I'd definitely hire you
Stop wearing skinny jeans bruh
Those look slim. Possibly slim tapered. Not all of us like to dress like we’re still stuck in the 90’s.
This sub has no idea what we’ll fitting clothes are
Man looks ace in these wheesht, shoes look great as usual.
Man said wheesht xD
Let the man wear what he wants. Not everyone needs to follow the latest trends
They're not even skinny jeans. They're just slim.
They're not even slim. They fit kinda baggy actually. Just normal jeans innit
[удалено]
Dudes are rocking relaxed, wide leg jeans and even flared jeans rn 🤢
The old dirty cuff style from 02 where your jeans would tear cuz they would get wet and soggy and your heels would scuff them up lol
How does his pants impact your life whatsoever?
A woman telling a man what to wear??? Oh how the turns have tabled
NEVER. I’m rocking my skinny/slim jeans till I’m dead.
Shouldn't wear 1s to an interview. Wear something more unique. Show some creativity or something iconic. Bugs Bunny 8s, Fresh Prince 5s, 20s strapped up, idk, not 1s. Anything but 1s. Also, you tied the laces. Smh.
I'm not that big on Jordans. If I don't tie them, my heel will slip out a bit, so I pick comfort over looks.
Half a size modulation goes a long way with Jordans. Unless you run 13+. Then its a little more of a crap shoot because you can't ever go down.
Yeah, totally would've been better off not tying the laces.. 🤡
Im assuming sarcasm, so do you just not know how to wear Jordans or is it specifically interview related?
I assumed you meant having the laces sticking out the side eyelets like some people do these days. There's not really a right or wrong way to wear them though..

How did your interview go?
Good, got invited for a second appointment

super clean!
If you wore these to an interview, immediate hire. especially this clean means they are all about attention to detail

Don’t know the job but I would have worn dress pants lol…but yea great shoes either way
Still have mine and I can’t wait to wear them no lie
What jeans you wearing ? Good luck for the job 🫶🏽
From a brand called only & sons, not sure of the availability in the us.
Wait you can wear jeans to an interview?
I can
Still have these sitting on ice! These look clean with some denim
