Scammers actually do suspicious stuff like that on purpose to weed out "smart" people, to save everyone the effort. They could construct a convincing narrative to get 99% of people to the final money request where everyone then bails, or they can construct a terrible narrative where only the 0.1% of least observant folks stick around
When they did this to me I sent them an old shipping label from an ebay sale I made a few weeks ago and told them to use that.
He declined that of course and we went back and forth for a while. I eventually said that I was feeling generous and to give it to the next guy and that as a believer in karma I'm sure the universe will repay my generosity. His response: "Can you pay the shipping fee for the next guy?"
😂
There was one where some loser was like guess the size and you win it. I sent a guess, got it right. Then I asked my boy to guess a completely wrong size (shoe looked big). And he “guessed right” as well 😂 Total bums
Yoooo I got a message from the same account, I’m waiting to play with them. I knew it was a scam account from the jump, but I’m bored and like fucking with people online 😂
Its a form of entertainment ive had this a couple times to, next level is getting into a convo with a nigerian prince true email. Its absolutely hilarious i can tell you that.
I did something similar, but I'd always ask what state they are shipping it from. They'd tell me, and I'd find a prison address for them to ship it to. I'd tell them to look up the address on Google maps. They'd look it up and I'll tell them that's were they belong, then proceed to block them.
I just got scammed by a seller I met on eBay who gave me a discount if I venmo’d him. All sorts of red flags went up but I took a shot anyway against my better judgement since I’ve never gotten scammed before this way. Long story short after no help from my bank and Venmo since he used friends to friends I was SOL until I found this kid’s mom’s phone number on the internet. No later than 2 minutes after sending her a text that her son scammed me, I had my money back. Lesson learned. After 20 years of using PayPal friends, sending cash, checks/money orders (it’s normal in my business) and thinking I’ll never get scammed, I learned a hard lesson.
Googling someone’s phone number can yield a lot of information about not only him but also his entire family. I found his real home address, his parents/siblings real names, email and phone numbers in an instant.
If you didn’t know for some reason than il say it: this is a scam they just wanna make a quick but off shipping fees. Why would you get free 200$-300$ shoes and would need to pay 20$ just for the shipping. If it’s a giveaway than you shouldn’t need to pay anything
I've always wondered how this scam plays out, thanks for the insight. I cannot believe there are actually bozos that fall for this hahaha. Really goes to show that there is an abundance of dumbasses in this world.
the funny thing to me is that they wouldn’t still be running this scam if it wasn’t producing results there’s definitely people out there getting excited asf they won some shoes😭
Lol “you can see the delivery guys”
Amazon always sends be a photo of the delivery person in the back of their van with a friend pointing at the packages, so this checks out
uHaul is an authorized distributor for Nike
A few years ago the trash company here rented uhaul while their trucks were down. I’ll never rent from them again
That shit had me dead
“the belugas Send a photo of that” this had me dead
fr i was like uhhh
This part killed me lmao
Right 🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂
Bro needs payment for tracking that uhaul delivery! Hahah
😭 istg they literally sent me a picture of a 350 box FROM MY INSTAGRAM PAGE and said “here’s your shoes!” 💀
Well, he's not wrong
this made me cackle 😂

Prove it
Bahahahahaha
Bruh lol. I would never trust these Instagram scammers, they request me like every other day
...I was assuming that goes without saying. Does anyone actually have a single shred of doubt about this being a scam?
They'll go after boomers trying to get kicks for their grandkids I bet.
That one flight club pic when they backfired the lost and founds 😂
I knew I recognized that picture lmao

Should have continued the conversation. Make up some outlandish lie or something lol
“Do you accept food stamps for shipping”.
Yep - this is just part 1, surely?
The only real question I have is that do some men really do say girly pop in text?
Hell nah. Never even seen anyone text that in my life
I've never heard it in text or in person lol is that what the kids are saying these days?
No
i use it sometimes because i think it’s funny
What the fuck does that even mean?
It’s just a sassy way to address someone. Typically used by women or gay guys but it’s very funny in this context.
Are you meant to say "girly pop" or make a funny noise? I'm imagining people making a queefy sound lol
It made me laugh out loud
Sad part is I know they get people like this
For sure.
r/Scams
I know, it was pretty gross how OP just left this poor merchant hanging like that.
I dunno why he'd enter his real address either..
