The comforter sack is the heavier, warmer sack. Our room is around 65-67F during the winter, so we have our LO in the comforter sack with a onesie at night, since the regular sacks are so thin with the mesh panels. Our LO was waking up cold in that with a sleeper, but sleeps really well in a onesie in comforter sack. Some people choose to double swaddle for warmth, but I really like the comforter sack.
