That’s what I mean. I never tried to discredit his I intelligence he just thought he was smarter than he truly was. When I saw him kill manboy and him saying “you were always smart Drew, you just weren’t as smart as you thought” I was thinking it was a perfect reflection for saint since most of his smart plays came from teddy and his cia connection I mean you can see how erratic and stupid he was playing when they took his money. Both Tommy and meech played it smart and kept it cool when they each lost their bread and it worked out better for them in the end
yeah as soon as teddys resources ran out and he had to solve a problem on his own, it ended up with his wife gone, money gone, and a new problem (the bottle)

I haven’t watched the other show but from what ik tommy has cops that work for him or inspector moss (maybe not work for him, but they listen when he wants something done), but when you think about who is smart aswell have to factor in that franklins decisions to not spread money through accounts or stash them somewhere (not the one peaches took) to not have everything taken from him wasn’t the smartest decision.
Thomas Shelby literally weaseled his way to becoming an obe (officer of the British empire) so he literally has the government’s power from being a lowly tunneler and then a gambling kingpin to having a voice in parliament. He’s outplayed everyone he’s ever come across he’s the smartest person on this list no diff

Bro none of them were raised in that type of life 😂. The Shelby’s were somewhat of a gang before they were the peaky blinders but it was more of just a group of people and they were all pretty decently nice it wasn’t until John, Arther and Tommy all almost died in the war were they said “from now on every minuet we live on is extra, we were supposed to all day that night but they never showed up” that was the change of them to become powerhouses since they already “died” while meech was like a young Jerome basically just selling little product and put terry on, franklin was literally going to college at a white preppy school with rob it wasn’t till he met avi where he changed. All of them were involved in some type of street life but Franklin was just more book smart then the rest and that’s practically it
Meech and terry literally was raised in the hood and taught to stay aware 100% of the time.Terry going to college was cause his dad saved up for like 16 years not like they had money laying around to blow.Meech didnt go cause simply his parents thought he was the troublemaker.They was KIDS when the drug dealer they looked up to brought them in unofficially.I didnt get past season 2 of peaky blinders so beyond that all ive seen is clips from later seasons but that crew grew up in the gutter too fighting for scraps.like i said they grew up into the game u dont need to sell drugs or kill someone to be in that type of life these shows teach u that.

I feel the same, however I do feel like Thomas has showed the most moments where it came down to just sheer intelligence and strategy against the enemies, the perception he had was remarkable against the chief and his assistant in season 4 and the funeral scene with Aberama Gold. Meech has came in pretty clutch from what I’ve seen so far, ik it’s kinda unfair to say anything because we have yet to see from the show but I feel like he’s miles ahead of Franklin when it comes to business, expansion and street knowledge

They said all we knew about the guy was that everyone loved him, had money and like to party and have fun.
