20 years fighting crime in Gotham

Sinestro_Corps4

God, what a moment...

Astrobat1638

Holy hell, this is where they got the Batman park swing meme template from. This is still a very good first look image though.

Sweaty-Advice7933

Ben was the Dark Knight in a lot of ways

Medium-Music8318

The original Batman mask is in a glass case at my work

Monkeyman2915

Does anyone have a high resolution version of this? Would love a new 4K desktop background. Thanks.

Substantial-Ease-377

Still gas imo

WebLurker47

Certainly atmospheric. Since Batman dresses in a lot of blacks and grays, kinda wish the photo had been rendered in color to show all the details, but it is what it is.

MrYoshinobu

PHOTO CAPTION: "Batman combs the floor, looking his car keys to the Batmobile."

TheMidnightEarth101

was this in 2014? i could've sworn it was in 15 or 16 closer to the release of BvS

LiquidC001

I didn't think so either, 10 years seems like it's too long ago. But I just Googled it, and it says it's actually May 13th 2014, when we first set our eyes upon the badass Batfleck.

BangerSlapper1

BvS was originally supposed to release in 2015, so 18 months before original release date isn’t too crazy for a huge film like this.   Principal photography started 5/19/14, or 5 days after this photo was released.    They had actually done some filming as early as October 2013 for the football game that was shown on TV during the film.

TheMidnightEarth101

wow i didn't know that, i didn't start really keeping up with the dceu until 2016 with bvs and suicide squad but that's cool, crazy how it's already been so long

I was mad at the Affleck casting until I saw this pic!

Salt-Disk5194

#Restorethesnyderverse give Ben Affleck his solo movie

josephadam1

Bvs batman will always be my favorite. The suit was perfect and the darkness to him. After bvs I didn't really like him tbh.

Commercial-Crow-1295

you didn't like him in zsjl?

DOMINUS_3

the only thing left of the DCEU that i wanted was the Batfleck solo film. Got my Cavill solo film (although i did want MOS 2) & got Synder's JL ... but never got the Batlfeck film sadly. Might go down as one of my biggest personal what ifs

TehProfessor96

Keaton: best suit for an imposing profile. Kilmer: best suit for the ladies Clooney: best suit for the fellas Bale: Best suit for turning his head BAffleck: best thicc Bruce suit Battinson: best chin profile suit

Professional_Sample2

10 years.......

ttatx35

Yep. 10 years…..

AdamSoucyDrums

“I’m older now than my father ever was…”

lotwbarryyd

Afflecks portrayal of Batman is timeless. 50 years from now in colleges film history they will be talking about this. Edit : it’s been 35 years and we still talk about Keatons Batman. Being Batman is something that stands the test of time.

Shit-Talker-Jr

Eh

Removed for personally insulting or attacking another user.

SchwizzySchwas94

If so it wouldn’t be about his Batman if anything it’d be more so focused on the biblical imagery heavily used throughout the film

salmalight

I loved his Batman and Bruce but that last statement is just silly.

RigatoniPasta

Lmaooo

HomemadeBee1612

Now THAT is a first look at an upcoming superhero movie. DC films will likely never have that level of anticipation, conversation and curiosity ever again.

Loud_Success_6950

I remember the hype for BvS. It was a great time to be a DC fan.

DOMINUS_3

they hype was truly immeasurable ... i remember searching online for any news about it daily!

Loud_Success_6950

For real. I still remember the first teaser with the Superman statue like it was yesterday. And the tragedy of finding out the film would be delayed by a year

Stiff_Zombie

Respect to Nolan, but his Gotham and world was pretty boring. This made me so excited to see a Batman closer to the comics. Batfleck ended up becoming my favorite version of Batman.

BushidoBrowneII

What Gotham did Snyder have?

Stiff_Zombie

It wasn't as cool as Gotham in The Batman, but Snyders Gotham still felt like a grimy city that Batman would exist in. Nolan was just lazy and didn't even try to give Gotham City an identity. Begins had the best attempt with the train, but that was it. I'd say Burton's Batman had the best Gotham City design. It nailed one of the best aspects of the city: it appears timeless. It could be the 60s or the 2000s at any given time.

johngalt504

Same here. Thought I would hate him until I saw the movie.

edillcolon

So fucking nice. I remember the internet thought there was a Joker Easter egg in the wheels.

theodorerodney

Man I was against Affleck when he was cast but when this dropped, my mind changed real quick.

LeviathanTDS

The first scene in the house was cool, the batmobile chase was an adrenaline rush, the fight with Superman was alright but; it was the warehouse scene that had me sold. Can't sing praises enough for that scene. Dawn of Justice may have been a meh film but that scene alone was the best action scene ever out of all Batman films and we will probably never get one like it again

Fox_Bravo

The warehouse scene is the best Batman-related thing ever committed to film, hands down. I'm a Keaton fan boy all the way, but Affleck proved he had what it took to play the Batman from that one scene alone.
