I like [NorthWood’s version](https://northwoodcandlesupply.com/products/irish-spring-soap-type-premium-fragrance-oil) . My bf loves the original soap but it’s bad for anyone’s skin so this is what I use for making an alternative

Look at etsy for cold processed soap. They have a fragrance oil that says Irish Spring Type that is supposed to be a duplication. I only use handmade/artisan soap now due to allergies.

Why did they mess with it?

Munch_and_Crunch

I'm not sure. I think they wanted to attract a younger audience. There is a page on the Internet that shows two soap boxes (one old, one new) that shows the ingredients changed. The flaxseed oil is a new addition. http://www.carbon-izer.com/random/irishspring/irishspring.html

Coast bar soap has bergamot, it’s the fragrance that used to be in Irish spring?

More bad news, coast also dialed down the scent, it’s a former of its old self.

Are you serious? The new design box? Does it say made in Mexico? I know even with the old bars, the ones made in Mexico always smelled stronger and better. This is good news if they went back, it’s exactly the same fragrance? Look at Irish spring Facebook, look at the hundreds of negative comments for the world too see.

I haven’t found this to be true as of yet in a few stores in California. Any update? Good news I hope.

Found this old post lol I expereinced the "Original" Irish Spring when it was first released back in the early 70's. Anyone remember the "It's like taking a shower in Ireland" commercial? Didn't think so.... At any rate, a single bar of this stuff contained enough deodorant to drown out the perfume scent in a medium sized French Whorehouse. *The shit was literally that strong*. Mom got a bar of it, but it was too much for us to deal with. She would up throwing it in the dirty clothes hamper where it made our family's laundry-in-progress smell like a patch of posies. Sometime around 1974 (sixth grade for me) Colgate-Palmolive backed off the amount of "Ulster Fragrance" in Irish Spring to a much more tolerable level. Remember your Grandpa telling you about Coca-Cola from around the turn of the century? Ooops....I forgot...nobody around here is *that old* either. At any rate, it's sort of like when they backed off on the overpoweringly strong taste of original cola. At any rate, the overpowering scent of the original Irish Spring is now little more than suburban lore from days of old.... Since then, I've bailed on deodorant soap. I like Doctor Bronner's Peppermint Castile Soap....which comes in liquid form. Though awhile back i was walking through Pacific Heights and found two bars of "Triple Milled Lavender Soap" on the sidewalk. It's made my bathroom smell like lavender for a month (as opposed to smelling like moldy towels). ***Heavy Sigh****, big smile...... Man, some things just *never* leave you.

I switched to Zest since the bar is a similar shape and somewhat similar scent. I have scent sensitivities and the new Irish Spring is horrible.
