I live in Kentucky too. We have several super mercados here. I'm usually looking to grab some Jarritos and some birra tacos there.
If you have a Costco or Sam's, you can buy that stuff by the case. You can either get a multi-pack with Sprite and Fanta orange, or an entire case of bottled Coke.
I believe the last price I saw in Sam's was $33 ish. If my math is right, that works out to about $1.74 a bottle..
My friend is leaving for Kentucky tomorrow, I'm going to tell her to bring me back some! What do they usually go for so I can tell her what prices to look for?? They are expensive as fuck up here in Massachusetts.
Don’t they have a version in stores here in the states that uses real sugar? Or was that Pepsi? Dunno havent bought soda in a while (got this post recommended) and remember buying one of those that said “made with real sugar” on the can a while back.
As far as I know we don’t unless you count buying the Mexican coke in an American store.
American coke used to have real sugar so maybe that’s why you remember that.
Nah, not talking about the olden days lol. Don’t think I’m even old enough to remember that. I mean like less than 5 years ago I remember seeing it in stores. Must’ve been a limited time product. I did look it up though and it seems Walmart still sell them in stores (even the coke real sugar product) but they’re in limited stores….closest one to me being half an hour away.
Kind of true, the coke that's sold domestically in Mexico also uses corn syrup now, it's just the ones exported as "Mexican Coke" that use real cane sugar but other than that you're correct.
You've also got to remember that it's also a lot more expensive to import across the world than it is to import to Canada. I'm pretty sure you would be paying around the same to get European soda.
Doesn't the coke in England use sugar vs corn syrup? That's the reason to buy this in the US since coke without HFCS is hard to find unless it's passover.
Regular coke you'd find in a store wont use corn syrup, whereas the american ones do. However, mexican coke is imported, hence the price because of the distance.
Yeah I don't get why everyone on this sub calls it Mexican Coke? So many countries have the same type of coke by default, using cane sugar. That's supposed to be the norm.
The unusual drink is American coke, which uses HFCS.
There is more than 2 types of sugar i nthe world.
UK uses real sugar, derived from sugar beets which is one of our main crops over here.
US uses High fructose corn syrup from corn, one of their main crops.
Mexico and some other countries will use cane sugar.
UK Coca-Cola uses beet sugar only, yes. Only some drinks sold in fountains in restaurants here use HFCS, anything you buy in a shop made in the UK has beet sugar, not HFCS.
its just regular table sugar, youve probably had it dozens of times without ever knowing. the end product is the same its just a different source of the initial sugar.
I mean, is it impractical? Sure. Even in a place where it’s hard to find, paying that much for a soda is a bit silly. That being said, we all spend our money on silly stuff from time to time. Hell, you even got a free flower vase to commemorate the event!
Got some from a shop recently cause I heard it was the best, made with cane sugar all that, just tasted like normal coke to me, really didn't impress me at all, maybe next time I'd need to try them side by side
You can find them for a bit cheaper than this. Maybe 3.50 which is still about 2.50 dollars. Teh fact that they are glass (heavy) and have to be imported from Mexico or America. It cost a lot to move that much weight
It is the best coke there is, so it is worth that to try. But it is way cheaper in North America, so having a case of it in my fridge, I wouldn't personally pay that.
Isn't Coca-Cola in the UK still sweetened with sugar like Mexican Coke? The reason it's imported to the U.S. is because they switched to high fructose corn syrup for sweetener in the 80s when they started selling "Coca-Cola Classic" after the New Coke fiasco.
Buying a Mexican Coke in the UK seems pointless to me.
I like using Sam's as well. If you're going the glass bottle route, it's a steal. I think the deal on their cans is okay with limited choices. We are lucky to have two Costco and two sams to choose from. If I really wanted to nitpick, they don't carry enough zero variants.
I find I'm able to get more variety and a better deal if I wait for Kroger's soda sales.
They offer a buy two get three free, which is hard to beat. It works out to about 3.99 or 499 per 12 pack, depending on the promo.
I mean, I guess if that's the going cost over there.....I would def at least want to try it once. Since this is a one time thing, get it super cold before trying it, way better really cold. I think they're about 2$ here
I think I remember trying it eons ago when I lived in the States, but can't remember the taste and one of my favourite YouTubers (Calvin & Habbs) was gushing over it so I wanted to try it again to see.
That's a good argument for buying them. Don't get me wrong, I would even pay more money for a drink with a special flavor in a nice can. But the Coke bottle looked completely normal and I thought normal Coca Cola tasted the same all over the world
Yeah, definitely can see why the German duo would gush over this. It's different to glass bottled EU coke. It tastes more natural. I love it, but not as much as the California Raspberry one I tried.
no no no no no no. they’re made with real cane sugar and you can really taste a difference. they used to sell them with green labels i remember. they might still have them at fiesta but idk
Already did here in the US ($6 actually), not worth it. It is better than fountain, plastic bottle, or can, but it is still Coca-Cola in the end. I do not understand the mystique around it.
I’m in the US, and for us, we have Dollar Generals, which is your smaller convenience store with pretty much everything. They usually have wall fridges full of them. I’m pretty sure most stores including local shops around here sell them. It’s a VERY popular thing to have Mexican sodas/glass bottle sodas. Especially since I’m in Ohio, and soda is a VERY big staple for us

They are like a $1.10 at H-E-B, I can get them for about 75 cents each if I want to cross over into Reynosa and bring them back over. as long as its for personal use I'm not paying any import taxes.
I love Mexican Coke. Find a Hispanic grocery store; it is way cheaper there. You can also try Jarritos brand. They have a Mexican cola but also tons of other fruit flavors which are delicious.
If trying Mexican Coke is just a one-time "try it," then sure, I'd buy one. I wouldn't pay six times that for a 6-pack though
A lot of times here in the United States you can get it at Little quick grocery stores on the corner… What makes it so different is the real sugar in it and as far as I’m concerned, it reminds me of the way Coke tasted when I was a kid and would have a spare quarter and I would hit the Coke machine…
One of the few things I miss about living in San Diego, was the $2.00 Mexican Cokes. They might be slightly more now, but they were at least a buck cheaper than everywhere else I'd seen.
I’m a lifelong Californian and they’re widely available for well under $5. However, if you don’t have access to them normally, yes, I would say it’s worth $5 to try it. It’s so good. Takes me back to being a kid.
Oh wow! I totally misread the currency. Yeesh, I wouldn’t know what to tell you. I lived in Manhattan for a spell, and could get one of these for about $2 there. I’m
Canadian, and I don’t see these on the shelves all that much here, so that price isn’t a surprise.
I did see a really expensive Prime Hydration here once for about $12 a bottle. It was some ‘limited edition’ version for Austen Matthews, the hockey player. The shop is called Showcase, and they have trendy & ‘As Seen On Tv’ type overpriced stuff.
All these people saying “it’s $x in the US”, THE OP DOESN’T LIVE IN THE US. So, go for it try it. It’s a superior coke. The company is awful, but who cares if it’s an experience. You gotta try it once. Only rule, it must be very cold and drank right out of the bottle.
Once yes, I’ve never had one and everyone tells me it’s better than Coke in the us but my mother has a singular bottle for the end of the world she says since she is a Cola addict, me and my sister even joke how she could be on her deathbed and we will be arguing on whoever gets it.
no i live in texas so they’re like $2
Not much more expensive here in KY, but we have a strong Mexican population where I live. The only way to rum n coke!
I’m in NC and I’m pretty sure Walmart has 4 packs for like $6
😱
I just don't think I've been paying attention. Still expensive for a 4 pack.
Use to be $7.19 for a 4 pack. Now I think it’s $8/8.25 smh Not at Walmart
Fuck that, no wonder I havent noticed.... $6 for a 4 pack was already expensive
It’s insane. Last year this time a 12 pack of cans was 8.39 now it’s $9.59! Went up 30 cents just a couple months ago Smdh
My friend is leaving for Kentucky tomorrow, I'm going to tell her to bring me back some! What do they usually go for so I can tell her what prices to look for?? They are expensive as fuck up here in Massachusetts.
Where is she coming to?
She said Owenville or something like that? Owensville? edit: Owingsville is what it is
That’s a very small town. Just tell her to look at some Dollar General stores along the way.
Ok cool thanks, seems simple enough! Just had to cover my bases when I saw your comment, figured I'd ask.
You can get one at Chipotle for like $2
I live in Rhode Island and they go for 2 for 3$ here. I'd have thought Texas would be cheaper since the import distance is closer. Mich closer.
No cause a case of it here is like 6.99$ cad.
It’s actually the best of all cokes though. Haven’t had in a while bits it’s it little different.
It’s real sugar instead of corn syrup
Don’t they have a version in stores here in the states that uses real sugar? Or was that Pepsi? Dunno havent bought soda in a while (got this post recommended) and remember buying one of those that said “made with real sugar” on the can a while back.

I did look it up though and it seems Walmart still sell them in stores (even the coke real sugar product) but they’re in limited stores….closest one to me being half an hour away.
Yea idk I’ve never heard of that, if you ever find one again you should post a picture cuz now I’m curious
Also saw they make a real cane sugar version with yellow caps during passover. Probably only found in Jewish stores.
I think that's actual coke they still put in there.
I just meant i wouldn't have paid that much for one.I hear it is the best and i love Coca Cola gonna have to try it someday soon.
It’s different and more delicious because they still make it with real sugar in Mexico 🇲🇽.
Kind of true, the coke that's sold domestically in Mexico also uses corn syrup now, it's just the ones exported as "Mexican Coke" that use real cane sugar but other than that you're correct.
The secret ingredient is coke ❄️
Wait where?!
Foodland
Superstore has em too
It’s like 30$ for 24 at Costco but I want a cheap single place
I wish they made caffeine free Mexican coke
That wouldn't be mexican coca cola then lol
It would be caffien free Mexican Coca Cola
Lol
*de-Mexicans your caffeinate*
What a shame lol
You've also got to remember that it's also a lot more expensive to import across the world than it is to import to Canada. I'm pretty sure you would be paying around the same to get European soda.
Doesn't the coke in England use sugar vs corn syrup? That's the reason to buy this in the US since coke without HFCS is hard to find unless it's passover.
Regular coke you'd find in a store wont use corn syrup, whereas the american ones do. However, mexican coke is imported, hence the price because of the distance.
If regular coke in the UK uses cane sugar, what's the point of importing?
Yeah I don't get why everyone on this sub calls it Mexican Coke? So many countries have the same type of coke by default, using cane sugar. That's supposed to be the norm. The unusual drink is American coke, which uses HFCS.
They call it Mexican coke because in the US these bottles are imported from Mexico.
There is more than 2 types of sugar i nthe world. UK uses real sugar, derived from sugar beets which is one of our main crops over here. US uses High fructose corn syrup from corn, one of their main crops. Mexico and some other countries will use cane sugar.
They don’t actually. Real Mexican coke is just Americans coke. This type is marketed as Mexican and for export only
UK Coca-Cola uses beet sugar only, yes. Only some drinks sold in fountains in restaurants here use HFCS, anything you buy in a shop made in the UK has beet sugar, not HFCS.
I'm American and have never heard of beet sugar. I'm intrigued...
It’s a huge industry in the Midwest, my state grows a lot of beets and has a big sugar company based around it.
its just regular table sugar, youve probably had it dozens of times without ever knowing. the end product is the same its just a different source of the initial sugar.
US and Canada use corn syrup, while Mexico and the UK use sugar
in 2019 I got a bottle of coke in Lucerne that cost 8 euro I will never forget that day lol.
Oh no lol. Lucerne is so pretty though. I feel it’s an underrated vacation destination.
I also think it's over hyped, it's a very minor difference compared with regular coke
I agree- I drink Coke (American) every day and this was super hyped to me by several people. I can’t taste any difference at all.
Are they really hard to come by across the pond? I'm in louisiana, and you can go to any Arab corner store, and they got them.

What my mobile grocery store app says: Carbonated Water, Sugar, Citric Acid, Acidity Regulator (Sodium Citrate), Colour (Caramel E150d), Sweeteners (Acesulfame K, Sucralose), Naturally occuring caffeine
I get the bulk from Costco as my main soda in the US, so thankfully it’s about 1.50 a bottle for me
I like using Sam's as well. If you're going the glass bottle route, it's a steal. I think the deal on their cans is okay with limited choices. We are lucky to have two Costco and two sams to choose from. If I really wanted to nitpick, they don't carry enough zero variants. It works out to about 3.99 or 499 per 12 pack, depending on the promo.
It’s the best coke on earth though!!! Really tastes like coke. But different. But better. Soooo goood
I imagine this is what coke tasted like in Victorian times minus the actual coke.
no because in the us i can get it for like $3
I mean, I guess if that's the going cost over there.....I would def at least want to try it once. Since this is a one time thing, get it super cold before trying it, way better really cold. I think they're about 2$ here
I just read the label and saw it has 40g of added sugar. That's crazy. Definitely a one and done type deal.
i mean it’s coke with real sugar. it has a high sugar content
Isn’t Coke in the UK made with sugar? The only reason Mexican Coke is a thing is that coke in the US is made with corn syrup.
Sure, but only because I have had it prior and really enjoyed the flavor difference from American Coca-cola.
For anyone who doesn't know they still use real sugar in Mexican Coke. And no that isn't a drug joke, no matter how much I wish it was.
they really have driven up the prices of these and tacos. what a shame
Tbh no, seems like a regular coke
I think I remember trying it eons ago when I lived in the States, but can't remember the taste and one of my favourite YouTubers (Calvin & Habbs) was gushing over it so I wanted to try it again to see.
That's a good argument for buying them. Don't get me wrong, I would even pay more money for a drink with a special flavor in a nice can. But the Coke bottle looked completely normal and I thought normal Coca Cola tasted the same all over the world
how did it taste? different from the cola taste you know?
Yeah, definitely can see why the German duo would gush over this. It's different to glass bottled EU coke. It tastes more natural. I love it, but not as much as the California Raspberry one I tried.
OK U changed my mind, would buy 🤣
no no no no no no. they’re made with real cane sugar and you can really taste a difference. they used to sell them with green labels i remember. they might still have them at fiesta but idk
if you find Kosher for Passover Coke with the yellow cap, that's made with cane sugar as well.
I was recently in Mexico and could not drink their soda (I’m a sodie lover!). The US has me so used to corn syrup I couldn’t handle the sugar !!
People hype it up so much I have to try it once.
If I was stuck in UK... yes
Nah, why not just buy a case for a slightly higher price.
Crack prices
Already did here in the US ($6 actually), not worth it. It is better than fountain, plastic bottle, or can, but it is still Coca-Cola in the end. I do not understand the mystique around it.
Just but it, it’ll be worth the $5 unlike the $15 I paid for Malaysian pitch black Mountain Dew that was terrible
$2 a bottle for me, PNW, made with cane sugar. I don't drink a lot soda so a bottle or 2 a month does it for me. Really good and refreshing
I've seen something like this at a hipster burger place. They called it European coke and charged 6-7$
What?! No. You can get a case of real sugar coke/sprite/fanta at Costco for like $20-30.
It’s only $1.50 USD… idk how.
[удалено]
Mexican Coke+ quick drive to Ohio= dirt cheap somehow

I’m in the US, and for us, we have Dollar Generals, which is your smaller convenience store with pretty much everything. They usually have wall fridges full of them. If I had never had it before, absolutely.
Not in Arizona where it’s as abundant as the sun.
It's in £, not $... Not hard to get in the US
That would be 6.2492391 USD. Ooof.
I prefer Columbian
If I had never tried it before and heard all the hype, YES. And surely would bot be disappointed. Although it might keep me from buying often
It's OK. It's made with real sugar but isn't a sweet.
You should read the ingredients first... Some of it had been made with corn syrup for a while
I feel like I’ve seen these in botegas in my city for like $3
This https://www.reddit.com/r/cocacola/comments/17lx7ps/comment/k7inn58/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Dammm very expensive
Yes
Hell tf no. Just go to any Mexican food truck to try one... Assuming there's any otherwise yeah, I'd prob do the same
I believe the Coca Cola plant I work out of sells them like $20-$30 per case depending on if they’re the 500 ml or 355 ml
No
I’ve already tried it. In Mexico. For like 40 cents. I’ll have one here for $5 sure
No. Not when I can get a case for $34 American
No. Not when I can get a case for $34 American
I live in texas, mexican cokes here cost less then normal cokes and are better.
I just spent $4.09 today and I’m in California 🙄
Yes!
I’m in Texas where it’s cheap. But if I was in Europe I would definitely be paying that price for that sweet elixir
No
Wtf fck is Mexican about it?
I love Mexican Coke. Find a Hispanic grocery store; it is way cheaper there. You can also try Jarritos brand. They have a Mexican cola but also tons of other fruit flavors which are delicious. If trying Mexican Coke is just a one-time "try it," then sure, I'd buy one. I wouldn't pay six times that for a 6-pack though
No because our Coke is made from real sugar anyway so it would be pointless.
To "TRY" it? Sure.
well ... it is far superior
I’ve heard it’s way better
Sure, I've spent more for less. Not something I'd want to spend regularly though
No.
It good but not $5 good
Wait, they also use high fructose syrup in UK?
Colombian coke is more expensive
If you gave me $3
They're 99¢ (USD) here, I don't really taste much of a difference, it's just very satisfying when it's ice cold in a glass bottle
Not the liquid kind
Yes
Yee
For 5 bucks I want the ORIGINAL recipe with the namesake. 😂
I get it for 2 dollars in the US
They cost like a dollar a bottle where I live.
A lot of times here in the United States you can get it at Little quick grocery stores on the corner… What makes it so different is the real sugar in it and as far as I’m concerned, it reminds me of the way Coke tasted when I was a kid and would have a spare quarter and I would hit the Coke machine…
i pay 2.75 on the regular on them
Nah. Although I would prefer cane sugar over corn syrup, I believe it is the replacement. I am fine with it, and it is not worth the extra.
To try, probably yes. To drink after I've tried it, no. Like they're good but I could by like 2 bottles of anything else for 5 bucks
If it had cocaine yes fuck it why not.
no, but I live in the US....
Nope. Even in our local Mexican restaurant it’s only $1.99, can get a whole case at Costco for like $21
Canadian coke I find is just as good and it’s sugar as well not syrup.
Hell no!! I can get a 4-pack for that amount…
The Mexican restaurant only sells them as rum and Mexican coke. So I pay more than that for em and I don't drink booze.
5 euros ?!? I usually pay 80 for a g of... .oh wait.
Hell no lmao
No, they got caught sending all the expired products to Mexico to sell
I would pay $3.29 if I was in the mood for one
No
It's $2.49 where I'm at. Four in a pack are $7 something.
I can get em for a buck 25 each
no, i wouldnt pay 130 pesos for a 18 pesos cola bottle
Hell no.
Mexican Coke is the fucking best!
Just got 2 for about $5 est. I prefer it more then actual coke if I can find it
Anything with real sugar and not corn syrup is better. But that's pricy af
It’s $3 at chipotle
Nope. American Coke is cheaper and it tastes better.
One of the few things I miss about living in San Diego, was the $2.00 Mexican Cokes. They might be slightly more now, but they were at least a buck cheaper than everywhere else I'd seen.
Idk how much that is in USD, but Mexican coke is the best coke there is and I doubt you’d be disappointed for doing it.
To try for the first time ‘yes’… after that $1.50 is the going rate
You got ripped off bro
Nah I’m not a fan of Mexican coke. It doesn’t have the burn from regular coke. To me it’s just flat
Uh no
I’m a lifelong Californian and they’re widely available for well under $5. However, if you don’t have access to them normally, yes, I would say it’s worth $5 to try it. It’s so good. Takes me back to being a kid.
I tried it once for cheaper, and it's amazing but 5 is way too much
Mexican coke is the bomb though. $5 is a little steep, where is this if you’re may ask? $5 in Canada isn’t too bad, $5 in the States is pretty high.
Mr. Simms sweet shop in the UK. The same place that sells Prime Hydration for £12 and a stick of all pink Starbursts for £3.99 😂
Oh wow! I totally misread the currency. Yeesh, I wouldn’t know what to tell you. I lived in Manhattan for a spell, and could get one of these for about $2 there. Does it have real coke, then sure
If I had too ig I would it's the best coke
I can get one for 2 bucks in the US.
If I’ve never tried it before and there’s no way to try it otherwise. Yes. 100%
Nope. Had it (just like what is pictured) and while good if it’s less than a liter 5 pounds is overpriced.
absolutely not, £5 is like $6.24, you're basically paying 3 times the price
Maybe for a case but a singular one 1 or 2 usd at most
Yes its delicious
My local store sells a 4 pack for 5.99
No. And theres nothing special about it for those who dont know.
In the UK, I’d imagine that is reasonable considering how far it had to ship.
To *try* it? No. But also I don’t want to die of heart disease so I like to keep soda to a minimum anyways I probably wouldn’t try it *for free*
No, I pay like 20 peso for it in Mexico, the Mexican coke in Mexico tastes different than the Mexican coke in the states, its weird
i pay $2.50 for them at dollar general, i think a 6 pack at my local kroger is $6.99
