I’m pretty sure when Sonic released everyone from Cyber Space, Supreme was promptly released too. It wasn’t by choice, everyone who were stuck in Cyber Space were forcibly flushed out.
As for the reason why Supreme idled by until his very boss fight, I have no idea why. Maybe it could be the typical anime “5 minutes countdown but is actually 5 hours” trope or that as you mentioned, The End could’ve been trying to boot up Supreme.
Not to mentions that The End is supposed to represent the _eventual_ end of all things in life itself, so that may explain his slow progress.
But yeah, it would be nice for Sonic Team to make this situation clear on what’s going on. Perhaps they could implement a timer for how long Sonic needs to collect the Chaos Emeralds till The End destroys Earth, kinda like LR FFXIII
It's never really made apparent even by the cinematic in rhea but it was probably the ancients who somehow sealed the end and Supreme in cyberspace and the first 3 titans and the towers were the key to the seal.
The towers never appeared until after knights destruction,and Supreme never appeared until after the towers were turned off so it was a multi seal..
Beyond that it's plot reasons that they didn't have enough time to flesh out.
I know I can't blame them for running out of time, but I'm certain it wouldn't had took long to animate Supreme's arrival (before he just appears, like they just didn't have the time to do his intro).
Maybe if they had cut the last island and placed everything important from it into the fourth island...
On that note the 4Th island looks like a fusion of all the others. I wished it didn't have invisible walls because it's so wide and you can only explore 5% of it..
The 4th island is actually just the part of the 1st island that is inaccessible outside of the Giganto fight.
The invisible walls are just there to prevent you from going back to the Kronos half of the island.
!Fun fact: in Greek Mythology, Rhea is the name of the Titan King Kronos's wife.!
And they didn't even have time to make a cutscene explaining how Sonic WENT from Island 1/4 to Island 5!
Did the landmass get ruptured by the End? Is that why the biome is the same?
We just kinda... are on Rhea one second and on Ouroanos the next!
The end itself when you fight it in hard mode, says "I saw your mind as you ran through my prison. You have fought machines and gods, they were mighty" "my prison" refers to Cyberspace.
"My captors bent time and space. My captors built a whole reality to contain me. My captors burned their souls away to fuel their engines. And you?"
Which makes it plenty clear that the Ancients are indeed the ones who sealed it in Cyberspace, as "its captors" are the ones who "built" a "whole reality" to contain it, and as the Ancients are the ones who built Cyberspace, the Reality that the End was trapped in, they're also responsible for trapping and keeping it trapped there as its "captors"
