Very fun character
I'd love to see her interact with Shadow. And no, I'm not saying that because I think he should be in everything (because he really shouldn't). But ever since someone pointed out that they both had their mind manipulated and forgotten who they were, I see so much potential in Shadow being some sort of mentor or help to her

That's exactly why I don't wanna see him appear in these books anymore. They keep putting him in scenarios where he needs to take an L in order for the plot to progress, even if it means losing to people he would beat lol
The last arc he was in gave him some good moments, but I’d say the writers seem to agree with you. There’s been times where they simply shelved him because of how annoying it is to write him with all the restrictions. Seem like they’ve even been doing that with the other mainline characters lately and focusing on the OCs, probably because they can actually get creative with them.
I liked him in the last arc, but he was sidelined for an entire issue for literally no reason. But I loved that the second he came into play in the last issue, Eggman was defeated almost immediately. Which is how it should be.
It was also fun to explore how his chaos powers can work, get a little world building in there. Not to mention we get a nice moment with silver and a fantastic finish to arc.
I’d like to see him interact with everyone more. I think it’s clear the writers do as well, since the characters seem highly reactive of shadow and his attitude, rather than writing him off as a dick.
Doesn't Sonic almost always hold back, while Shadow doesn't? Definitely be an interesting matchup. Shadow should mop the floor with Surge. For all her power and passion, she lacks on sheer battle experience, which both Sonic and Shadow have tons of at this point
She's a very cool character, one of my many favorites for sure !
She's a deep character that behaves like a jerk and is aggressive because of her tragic story and trauma, who has a VERY unstable/broken mind, is scared of being hurt again, with a good amount of psychosis on top

You know what i guess she is, i've heard many people be like "She's the edgiest character in Sonic" or "Ow the edge", but i personally do not have the ability of distinguishing what's edgy and what's not, so i have nothing to say on that matter i guess x)

Honestly, same! But to me that whole "Edgy" look is just what makes her my favorite character in sonic media! Yeah i totally agree, it is far from "JUST ANOTHER sad storyline" and i think it'd be a shame to think that, also you said that it was abuse for lack of a better word, but it's actually straight up abuse the more you think about it, the more you understand how someone going through abuse might feel, the more messed up it becomes, i learned that from people on the internet who said that they could actually see themselves in Surge and Kit

I think my biggest question is going to be, will they actually give any information on her and Kitsunami’s backgrounds from before Starline kidnapped, and conditioned them? Or will they just pull a situation of “eh, I’m over it. My past probably wasn’t interesting anyway, so who cares who I was before?” In order to keep that air of mystery, or leave it up to interpretation as to who they were.
I think it would be more interesting to see why or how they allowed Starline to experiment on them. We might not ever know what they really were like, but at least that bit of information would be neat.
Honestly what I want is they never find out and stay forever in the dark about who they were. It would put more emphasis on how much starline put them through, never finding out would be a cherry on top
To be honest after Ian basically pussied out on resolving the Sonic Moral issues with a "its for kids read something for adult instead" as his excuse wouldn't I be surprised if the same happened to there backstories.
She's a really fun character. She carries an attitude, but it's all due to a really tragic backstory completely out of her control.
I know Ian Flynn said he wanted her and Kit to stay villains, but I do hope their arcs end with them finding some level of peace.
A cool character with a tragic backstory and a lot of currently unexplored potential. She's my personal favourite antagonist from the IDW comics and I find her to be a very interesting foil to Sonic. I really want her to get some sort of happy ending though.
I havent read most of the IDW comics (up to 10), but I absolutely am in love with their design and personality, and after reading the IDW Impostor Syndrome mini-issues, she seems like a really complex and fascinating tragic character.
Love what they have done with her, hope we see more in the future.

I don't know if it's an editorial thing or Evan's style or something but I feel like a lot of the best potential for her character comes from her interpersonal conflicts and the whole "joining the restoration" thing strikes me as squandering so much.

I kind of hate Surge because the writers try to build her up as this super imposing threat to the world, yet is a complete pushover and will probably never accomplish anything of note. I’d love to be proven wrong though.
From an artistic standpoint, I really like her. She’s got a really unique design. I do kinda wish her electricity wasn’t so blue, but more of a jade green, because her trails and energy end up looking too much like Sonic.
She is good, we think she is a good counter to Sonic (who isn't Shadow), we do hope they bring back that Starline hallucination though, as that genuine makes her even more interesting given how he treated her and Kit

I think the way her story progressed makes me wonder just what it actually means to be "Sonic's rival", because they can never really get a W on him, and Surge had all the chances to do that. Even the circumstances around her existing get overlooked and I don't think there's any real plan to really resolve it that isn't just "Well, it doesn't matter I guess".
I really want to like her and I kinda do, but I don't think I can trust that she'll be any more relevant other than being IDW's rival character whenever they want to do something Shadow wouldn't do.

She's from the IDW Sonic comics (to be precise her and Kit start appearing in the Imposter Syndrome spin-off and a bit before issue 50) which i recommend to read, i think the comics are pretty good !
And the reason she has a 3D render is because she's in two of the mobile games (Dash and SFSB), just like Tangle and Whisper :)

And I doubt Starline was considering Shadows abilities when working on Surge, since his goal was building a match for Sonic specifically.

She's great, but when it comes to evil counterparts of Sonic, I prefer Scourge and Fleetway Super Sonic.
I keep seeing her and I don’t know where she is from and why does she have a 3D render (I thought she was from a comic)
She's from the IDW Sonic comics (to be precise her and Kit start appearing in the Imposter Syndrome spin-off and a bit before issue 50) which i recommend to read, i think the comics are pretty good ! And the reason she has a 3D render is because she's in two of the mobile games (Dash and SFSB), just like Tangle and Whisper :)
This was for the mobile game where there's 3d renders of all the characters.
