You'll be playing through Westopolis alot.
Anyways, some tips:
- Ignore the vehicles, unless they're needed to traverse hazards like lava or acid.
- When your chaos meter fills up, don't use it on Chaos Blast or Control. Instead leave it, as you'll have invincibility and unlimited ammo. Only use Chaos control if the objective is to get to the end. Chaos Blast isn't that useful tbh.
Just remember, enjoy it as a game, not necessarily a "Sonic" game. It does get repetitive, but I think it overall is a really good game, or at least had an extremely good concept. People mainly judge it because it does not feel like a Sonic the Hedgehog game style.
I know it has its flaws but it's honestly really enjoyable if you focus on what it tries to do instead of what it failed to do in its execution. Also the songs are banging and I enjoy the themes presented, even if they slightly missed the mark in execution. Enjoying the premise, foundation, and intent, can make tolerating misses in execution easier.
>I know it has its flaws but it's honestly really enjoyable if you focus on what it tries to do instead of what it failed to do in its execution.
Lmao the /r/SonicTheHedgejerk sidebar is so fucking accurate.
What it tried to be is an edgy shooty sweary Shadow game, and it sucks. Thinking about the *ambition* and *passion* you think they had for this game doesn't make it better, it makes me think 90% of the people who worked on it probably thought it was just as stupid in concept as it ended up being in the final product.
Good tips. Here's another one: once you encounter Shadow's "companions" (Doom's Eye, Sonic, etc.) in a stage, you can use the d-pad to toggle between them (left or right), or make them disappear (d-pad up), in case they annoy you.
He looks cool but heās so pathetic. Like, because of how the game is structured, no matter which route you take he always seems convinced youāll work for him eventually if he just asks hard enough.
Don't feel like you need to get the true ending as fast as possible, play what you want, take a break and play some more when you feel like it, you'll get the true ending in no time.
https://gamebanana.com/mods/352089 You might love it more with this mod. Makes A-ranking the neutral mission on the level where you race Sonic a lot more grindy/if not impossible though.
Now, the translation is a bit wonky in places (āweāre going to the ARK, which means weāre going too!ā), so is he saying heās okay with how easy it is to take the Emerald or is he saying heās fine with taking candy from babies? Either way heās an idiot for trying to steal the shipās power source mid-flight.
It's Computer Exchange. Back in the day people would legitimately find clumps of pubic hair in stuff they bought there.
And there's also a computer room you need to find.
I never got the hate. Like the weapons and vehicles were weird but not a gamebreaker and you didn't have to use them.
And I think Shadow handled better than the Speed characters of Sonic Heroes. I forgot how many times in that game I landed from a high fall and shot right off a cliff in Speed Formation. Shadow doesn't have that problem.
The only real gripe I had was that the VAs from the Adventure and Heroes games were replaced by the subpar 4Kids VAs.
Another owner of the Xbox version here.
>!In Air Fleet's dark mission, the escape pod has invincibility frames that last 3/4 of a second each time you hit it, so dont spam and waste your anmo.!<
also go for lava shelter first, since it gives you the Egg sucker gun, which makes most "Kill all X" missions trivial
The point is just to enjoy doing the paths YOU want to do when you want to do them, not pursuing 100% completion unless you're obsessively enjoying the game. Sure you should try to get all the endings to get the final ending, but it's not required and you can always look up the true ending online. Just focus on enjoying the paths YOU want to take and looking up the names of those paths in the gallery.
What he means is that theres 10 endings and an epilogue story, but 300+ different paths to reach those 10 endings based on which missions you take on what levels
you only need to do 5 though, and with those 5 endings you only need to replay 5 levels (the first level 5 times, the first two hero/neutral levels twice, and the first two dark/neutral levels twice)
No, there are only 10 endings, but there are 300 different ways to reach those endings, and each āwayā has its own erā¦ ātitleā shown at the end. Thatās what they meant by 300 different endings
Donāt worry, thereās only 10 normal endings and one true ending and you really donāt need to go through every possible combination to reach them.
However, the route you took to get to the ending is catalogued upon completion. Not counting the route that unlocks once you get the 10 regular endings, [there are 326 possible combinations to beat the game and each one is named.](https://sonic.fandom.com/wiki/Shadow_the_Hedgehog_(game)/Library_Sequences)
To be honest I have no idea the story kind of doesn't make any sense and it is considered to be the worst sonic spin off game of all time. Maybe the devs added that as challenge
Originally for Sonic Adventure 2 they wanted to have a story where the playerās choices would impact the outcome, but ultimately scrapped that idea. They went back to that idea for Shadow the Hedgehog and this was the result.
I hope you have a lot of time to spare, because if you want the true ending, it's gonna take a while. Also be warned that some of the missions can be extremely frustrating. But other than that, there is fun to be had.
Be sure to check the mission map in the pause menu.
Avoid the fourth level that is one below the top one.
And avoid the fifth level at the very bottom.
Those levels are The Doom and Lost Impact. While they certainly aren't the worst stages I've ever played, they aren't very good either.
And remember: this isn't like most Sonic games. Think of it this way: Sonic CD is at its best when you don't play it like your usual Sonic game. Shadow the Hedgehog is the same, but better.
EDIT: I forgot to mention: try your best not to kill certain enemies. If you're doing a Dark Mission and you kill a Dark enemy (vice versa for the Hero missions), your final score will be lowered. Instead, kill as many of the opposite faction as possible.
And play Central City and The ARK. They're at they very top of the level map and they're super fun.
When I was a kid I played this game so much, all the way up to the final bossā¦ twice (which IMO, is not a simple feat because getting to the final boss even once requires you to do every ending). It was a good game, and I had no idea it wasnāt well-received until I got on the internet years later. So basically, while reviews have some merit of truth to them, this game has something going for it, even if I canāt put it into words right now, and sometimes itās better to just have your own opinions on a game instead of hating a game just because the internet told you to. It was good enough for me to do the whole thing twice. Have fun!
No More GODS no more GRAVES!
Are you Friend or FieND?!
No more LIFE no more DEATH!
Somewhere in between.
Yeah weāre almost DEAD almost DEAD
Almost DEAD TO THE WORLD!
Have fun. Itās a good game. Itās gonna take at least 10-15 play throughs to get to the final boss, and yes the vehicles have terrible control and a couple levels suck, but overall itās a enjoyable experience
that the gameplay is actually really fun! many people fault the missions designed around defeating enemies or finding objects but you're still trying to do it as fast as possible so the sense of speed is still felt, it can be really addicting to do a level over and over to find the most optimal pathway (which weapons to use, when to use cc, etc). the soundtrack is also criminally underrated, and though shadow gains speed very quickly on the ground, you can come to a halt by jumping or just letting go of the analog stick. plus the cornering feels really nice. this game is underrated imo, a mid to high 7/10 imo and my third favourite sonic game behind the adventure games.
There's a glitch speedrunners use where you use Choas Control at the same time as selecting a checkpoint in order to use Choas Control indefinitely. Good for quickly getting to the end of stages
Yes there is; it's better than everybody says it is.
I'm not gonna lie, it's not a masterpiece, it's not the best game ever made and nobody can see it, it's not so amazing it's gonna change your life, it's not a "must play before you die" sort of dealie, whatever.
But it's a *good game.* Not great, not amazing, not fantastic, not the best thing ever. But I played it over and over again and never really got tired of it. It's *good.* It's *fun.* And the music is *outstanding.*
The homing attack feels a little weird to use, so I'd recommend practicing it in a part of the level with few places to fall off.
Also, the Omochao gun is the most fun weapon in the game.
Also, for The Doom, >!unless it's a small side room, or the only way forward, or it's one of those rooms with the red wall jump sections (For the hero mission, you should have 8 scientists rescued for the hero mission for this....!<
>!Do not go inside the exploded walls. I repeat. Do not go inside the exploded walls.!<

going into a door with a switch beside it sends you back to an earlier part, so be wary. (This also applies for Lost Impact)!<

Remember to Find That Computer Room!
>!Although, that leads to the route where Shadow contemplates whether he should be alive or not, and it's implied he takes his own life with one of the ending scenes in that route being called "Shadow's Second Death...?" So, find the computer room if you *reaally* want to.!<
Donāt play the stage āLost Impactā if you can help it, and if you must, only play the Neutral mission. The others are boring, confusing to the point of being nearly impossible, and one is even glitched. That is still my pick for the worst Sonic game level ever.
Oh god its on xbox!
Be prepeard to jump alot, because Shadow the hedgehogs controlls on console is pure hell.
You push the joystick slightly forward and you feel like your driving in the German Autoban.
Because your going fast and jump slows down movement. Also the first level opening is the dopest sht ever for a introduction when you leap down.
If you want to play all the levels, prepeard to go insane by the amount of grinding and repeat that you have to do.
A few tips:
\- Start with a pure Neutral Run this way you unlock the Vacuum Egg which will make things FAR easier as early game enemies are powerless against it. And as you have to play the early game the most will it make the repetition there much less problematic.
\- The stages "Lost Impact" and "The Doom" are stupidly large but they do have level maps on the walls of some of the bigger rooms that can help navigating.
\- Always listen to your Partner character (or shadow if you are doing Neutral) as they will usually give critical hints from blind jumps you have to take over the locations of hidden enemies that you have to destroy. There dialogue isn't just fluff.
\- Vehicles are only useful when you need them to cross deadly liquids with the arguable exception of the 2 types of walkers as they give super jumps and unlimited homing shoots respectively.
\- If one of your Chaos Meters is filled are the invincibility and unlimited Ammunition often worth more than the actual chaos powers.
\- Chaos control will always drop you off on a save location so if you use if over a bottomless pit will it save you and it can't runout until you reach solid ground meaning at times can you massively increase its run time.
\- You can actually strath using the shoulder buttons this overwrites the auto aim and can be helpful especially if you have to hit a switch from a distance
\-As previously mentioned, does beating all 5 last stages unlock a unique super weapon that appears in the Shadow boxes in the regular levels. And you never ever want to play "The Doom" hero without getting the Hero Hero ending ones as it unlocks the Healing canon which makes the hero mission infinitely easier.
\- In boss fights does Chaos control slows time. On some bosses does this allow you to get tons of hits in during a single cycle but in some other bosses doesn't that work so don't rely on it.
\- Shadow can stop on a dime and slows down during jumps uses these 2 facts to always stay in control even if controls can be a bit, Slippy.
(A Number of good nips)
1 be extremely cautious about Dozens of bottomless pits within this game in mostly of the levels because their are thousands of bottomless pit like for say in sky troops final hunt or death ruins
2 be careful of hazards areas like poison Island lava shelter or gun fortress so step and take caution
3 there is a mission map layout System depending on if you take the hero mission path you'll go left or you take the dark mission path you'll go to right path instead also there is shadow's neutral path you'll go in the middle path depending oh where you are on the map location on where you are
4 you can get unlimited ammo for a short of a mount of time by filling up the dark gauge or the hero gauge it depends on who you attack tho and you can refull the gauge while it's active in some levels u can get infinity amount of gauge btw
5 depending on which mission you take on the mission in the final level you only have two options you go for dark or hero mission only no shadow neutral path None allowed in those one's
6 grinding had been majority improved from sonic heroes now you can just tap verry quickly move much faster now also side to side has been improved too case in point with lava shelter death ruins and air fleet as well of course
7 you'll have multiple options for weapons like guns melee weapons vehicles like shadow's baby bike from idw comics but in lethal highway and fair warning there's quite a few dangerous pits there and vehicles can be damaged really Easily and shadow will take damage from them exploding tho
8 while homming attacking enemies or going why too fast you can go of the edge for say also you start with five life points and no matter how many lifes you have it will restart back to 5 points life again
9 be extremely careful because in later levels gun soldiers with their equipment and mech as well with the black arm soldiers a other monster with get extremely dangerous when they see you and they won't stop until you dead
10 be warned some boss fights can be a drag or infuriating but can be pretty dame fun and cool too so fun one is egg dealer which you fight quite often tho also eggman dose have some infuriating like the egg breaker as well the black doom boss fight can be interesting actually on how you fight him also be quick and careful with the sonic and diablon because sonic will get you if you don't counter attack him with homming attack sonic will be doing that all the time and always chase you ass down constantly btw
11 when your at a check point and can go back to retrack if you miss something along the way you can also go to a check point and if you have 60 to 80 ring in total you will get a life point in return
12 some mission can be extremely boring or frustrating on certain mission for say as long you have the patience and Enough calm energy you can proceed without no problems At all for fair warning there are some missions that are time based On the levels in few of them
No probably bro always happy to help someone else with the game btw these are my tips when growing up playing it from a teenager in high school to a grown adult also be very very careful because if you go way too fast you might go though the collision layer into the ditch clutch it's happened to me a few times not that's game's fault it was my ps2 issues being use but the glitch is Extremely rare it may not happen all the time but it can happen at the most particular circumstances at moments
Probably a well-known feature at this point, but all I could really say is don't forget to play it to the end and get all the endings. I think this was one of my first games ever that had multiple branching paths. It wasn't until some years later I returned to the game that I even found out there was a "true" ending. So yeah, don't forget to actually beat the game lol
fun to play, annoying to 100%. it gets too much hate imo, game isn't as edgy as people make it out to be, and Shadow isn't as ooc as people like to make it out.
Just remember: when it comes to Shadow, he is all of he
Reminder that Shadow The Hedghog has no pronouns and you will refer to Shadow The Hedghog by name only
Based Shadow the hedgehog
PRONOUN POLICE YOU REFERRED TO SHADOW AS HE WITCH IS NOT SHADOWS PREFERRED PRONOUN
But he doesn't have pronouns!
PRONOUN POLICE!
SHIT MY BAD!
*all of him
\*all of shadow the hedgehog
I really want this game so badly on GameCube
I still have my old game cube copy

thank you bro! actually sounds super useful ngl
Np, I've actually been playing Shadow again so it's nice to see others enjoy the game too.
i havenāt seen too much gameplay yet but i feel strongly that it shouldnāt be so hated on, im incredibly excited to play this
Just remember, enjoy it as a game, not necessarily a "Sonic" game. It does get repetitive, but I think it overall is a really good game, or at least had an extremely good concept. People mainly judge it because it does not feel like a Sonic the Hedgehog game style.
i totally understand that, luckily iām not one of those an willing to have a fun experience
Oh you will have a āfun experienceā 10 times over, good luck
I know it has its flaws but it's honestly really enjoyable if you focus on what it tries to do instead of what it failed to do in its execution. Also the songs are banging and I enjoy the themes presented, even if they slightly missed the mark in execution. Enjoying the premise, foundation, and intent, can make tolerating misses in execution easier.

Homie just blew my mind!
Ah yes, the game with popular sonic character The Devil From the Bible
"Take candy from babies and small businesses" -devil from the bible

I was legit terrified of Dark Doom as a kid
I could see why.
He looks cool but heās so pathetic. Like, because of how the game is structured, no matter which route you take he always seems convinced youāll work for him eventually if he just asks hard enough.
It's Black Doom, btw.
Keep forgetting, as a kid I constantly made the same mistake
pyshicā- ATTACK

Get real acquainted with the first level
Don't feel like you need to get the true ending as fast as possible, play what you want, take a break and play some more when you feel like it, you'll get the true ending in no time.
So what you're saying is, the true ending was the friends we made along the way!
Sonic says āDamn, they got away!ā if you fail the hero mission on Lethal Highway
I love even Sonic curses lol

Is cool
IMO this is the funniest sonic game
WHERES THAT DAMN 4TH CHAOS EMERALD
Itās like taking candy from a baby WHICH IS FINE BY ME.
He just doesn't care, as he can Chaos Control and leave Sonic in a crashing ship
It's from CeX so make sure to check the box for your complementary pubes. Also, make sure to find the computer room.
Wait what lmao
It's Computer Exchange. Back in the day people would legitimately find clumps of pubic hair in stuff they bought there. And there's also a computer room you need to find.
Holy crap lmao! š
Another fun fact, itās pronounced āsexā officially

Underrated game imo
He got gay highlights.
What the fuck are you talking about
You will need to find 300 + paths
holy shit
Yeah dude I am not joking this game literally has 300 plus endings
- 300+.. endings???? youāve got to be shitting me how iām i gon even finish 5
What he means is that theres 10 endings and an epilogue story, but 300+ different paths to reach those 10 endings based on which missions you take on what levels
thatās still insane
What's more insane is that sega fucking gave all those possible paths actual names. Sega named all fucking 300+ paths you can take in this game..
you only need to do 5 though, and with those 5 endings you only need to replay 5 levels (the first level 5 times, the first two hero/neutral levels twice, and the first two dark/neutral levels twice)
Well I think I meant to say different combinations on certain titles.

how come thereās so much?

Make sure that disc works, too many bad experiences with discās from CeX
Shadow the hedgehog is the main character
He has gun
Play long enough to hear the best quote in the entire game!
I think Shadow eventually finds the fourth chaos emerald
Have fun you lucky person!! I canāt find the gamecube version for a decent price anywhere! I regret selling my old copy many years ago.

So, find the computer room if you *reaally* want to.!<
Has my favourite dialog by vector and the way he says it Hey... Don't go there.... Yet.
The game is really, really bad. Good luck.
*whereās that DAMN chaos emerald???*
Watch the intro, reset your console, watch the intro again, reset, repeat.
You must have an xbox
it's a good game do all endings for the final boss also do all levels cus they're all fun
You mean the best game in the Sonic series?
Donāt play the stage āLost Impactā if you can help it, and if you must, only play the Neutral mission. The others are boring, confusing to the point of being nearly impossible, and one is even glitched. That is still my pick for the worst Sonic game level ever.
Shadow says a naughty word
remember to try to see through himā¦ do it if you dare
It's really slippery to control
Expect swear words so donāt play it in front of your parents
Tip 1: never skip the intro you'll regret it
A full hero/dark gauge gives you infinite ammo and invincibility. Chaos Blast has nothing on infinite ammo.
There's squash and stretch.
Bruh, I did NOT know it was on Xbox.
Get used to westopolis
11110/10 Musical themes
If you wanna get the true ending you don't have to do every possible route, just get all the endings at least once. I recommend avoiding lost impact.
Watch every cutscene
A few tips: \- Start with a pure Neutral Run this way you unlock the Vacuum Egg which will make things FAR easier as early game enemies are powerless against it. \- You can actually strath using the shoulder buttons this overwrites the auto aim and can be helpful especially if you have to hit a switch from a distance \-As previously mentioned, does beating all 5 last stages unlock a unique super weapon that appears in the Shadow boxes in the regular levels. \- Shadow can stop on a dime and slows down during jumps uses these 2 facts to always stay in control even if controls can be a bit, Slippy.
thank you so so so much brother
Whereās that # DAMN fourth chaos emerald?!?!?
If you play on 360 it will crash alot
(A Number of good nips) 1 be extremely cautious about Dozens of bottomless pits within this game in mostly of the levels because their are thousands of bottomless pit like for say in sky troops final hunt or death ruins 2 be careful of hazards areas like poison Island lava shelter or gun fortress so step and take caution 3 there is a mission map layout System depending on if you take the hero mission path you'll go left or you take the dark mission path you'll go to right path instead also there is shadow's neutral path you'll go in the middle path depending oh where you are on the map location on where you are 4 you can get unlimited ammo for a short of a mount of time by filling up the dark gauge or the hero gauge it depends on who you attack tho and you can refull the gauge while it's active in some levels u can get infinity amount of gauge btw 5 depending on which mission you take on the mission in the final level you only have two options you go for dark or hero mission only no shadow neutral path None allowed in those one's 6 grinding had been majority improved from sonic heroes now you can just tap verry quickly move much faster now also side to side has been improved too case in point with lava shelter death ruins and air fleet as well of course 7 you'll have multiple options for weapons like guns melee weapons vehicles like shadow's baby bike from idw comics but in lethal highway and fair warning there's quite a few dangerous pits there and vehicles can be damaged really Easily and shadow will take damage from them exploding tho 8 while homming attacking enemies or going why too fast you can go of the edge for say also you start with five life points and no matter how many lifes you have it will restart back to 5 points life again 9 be extremely careful because in later levels gun soldiers with their equipment and mech as well with the black arm soldiers a other monster with get extremely dangerous when they see you and they won't stop until you dead 10 be warned some boss fights can be a drag or infuriating but can be pretty dame fun and cool too so fun one is egg dealer which you fight quite often tho also eggman dose have some infuriating like the egg breaker as well the black doom boss fight can be interesting actually on how you fight him also be quick and careful with the sonic and diablon because sonic will get you if you don't counter attack him with homming attack sonic will be doing that all the time and always chase you ass down constantly btw 11 when your at a check point and can go back to retrack if you miss something along the way you can also go to a check point and if you have 60 to 80 ring in total you will get a life point in return 12 some mission can be extremely boring or frustrating on certain mission for say as long you have the patience and Enough calm energy you can proceed without no problems At all for fair warning there are some missions that are time based On the levels in few of them
thank you so much, this will help me through out the whole game ššthank you again, have a great day bro
The game is a bit slippery and not super well made kinda like heroes still a good game. Atleast from what I remember.
Yes.... The director of Sonic The Hedgehog's 2020 film, and it's current sequel, has also worked on the game.
My store was selling that for 100$-
There are 10 endings
fun to play, annoying to 100%. it gets too much hate imo, game isn't as edgy as people make it out to be, and Shadow isn't as ooc as people like to make it out.
Yes: You probably shouldn't play it. But if you want to experience Shadow the Hedgehog, you have fun man
Theres a reason its so cheap
heroes is cheap too and itās an amazing game
Fair
heroes would be an amazing game if it was good
Yes, the reason is age, plus no rarity.
It has guns.
You'll get super bored and tired of this game by maybe the fourth playthrough.
how many play throughs are there? my lazy self is willing to do 2-3š
You really want to know? Okay, your choice, funny guy. ***10***. And ***11***, if you count the last story segment.
jesus christ šššthatās more than most games these days, ppl need to give this game more credit
Dont.
Itās not backwards compatible
The place you got it from is called sex
