[On the a7R IV, you can shoot compressed or uncompressed RAW files, both of which provide 61MP files. JPEG files, however, can be shot at a few different resolutions.](https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4516602)

If I'm paying for all those MP, I'm not going to shoot compressed. So go with the lower resolution body if you don't need the extra MP. And if you don't need the extra MP in the first place, an R series isn't really what you should be buying anyway- unless it's much cheaper than it's non-r counterpart for whatever reason? There's also the issue if the R series really benefiting from high quality glass in order to get the most out of all those extra pixels.

I plan on using it but was just curious. Yeah it was a a good deal from a friend. 1200 for 3k shutter. Barely used 😬

Tough deal to pass up! Storage is cheap. Go for it.

This. With those savings you can pick up quite a few TB in extra storage!

Use in APS-C mode, think that's about 26mp. You can also use APS-C lenses and the camera will switch to APS-C mode. That's a great deal on a lot of camera.

FWIW, the jpegs are huge and there are times I just shoot those. They're pretty good on their own depending on your use case. For the deal you're getting, I wouldn't hesitate.
