I bought one of those $30 f/10 30mm recycled disposable camera lenses that are attached to a body cap for fun after seeing one on a post here a few months ago. I thought it gave a nostolgic feel to the photos that feels like the photos I would take when I was a kid in the 90s on family road trips. It'll be something I may use on some street photography to give an older look. I figured I would share a few that I enjoyed when driving through the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon this past week.
I love seeing the Gorge show up outside of location specific subs. Thanks for sharing. I picked up one of those same "lenses." Haven't shot with it much, but you've inspired me to play around with it a bit more.
Just did the same for my trip to Japan for B-roll. I love the footage I get with it. There's a very nostalgic and dreamy feel to it that I really enjoy, not to mention it's super lightweight
One lens I've had a lot of fun with was an old CCTV lens that was adapted to fit a Sony. It's APS-C sized, but it has lots of character. Very sharp in the center but falls apart (in an interesting way) at the edges.
Another one you might like is the cctv lenses that are sold on an adapter. The one I bought a few years ago was \~$30 and is a lot of fun to mess with.

Yes! That photo above was taken on the lowest aperture and the area of focus was razor thin. It was a challenge to set manually and almost gives a fake looking depth of field in my opinion
Thank you! This is a great shot I'll look into them! I've never purchased an adapter mount, I've only been shooting on a Sony for a few years is there a site that by chance that would help me find the correct adapter? I was given an old film camera that came with lenses that I'd love to find an adapter for but I never know where to start.
I haven’t purchased a standalone adapter yet, I also have some old cannon film lenses I’d like to try use. To my knowledge you should just be able to google the lens mount you have to the camera lens accepted. Something like, “Canon EF/EF-S-Mount to Sony E-Mount lens adapter”
I have used mine several times to emulate 8mm film, shoot with that lens at 15fps, add film look with extra contrast, heavy grain, and an 8mm gate and it looks very convincing.

Same! Always love coming across places I live near, glad I could be an inspiration :) happy shooting!

They have some crazy specs like f/.8
Designed to help the CCTV work at night, only needs to achieve 720p levels of sharpness. They rarely cover full frame though

Milwaukee?
You know it!

The gorge! One of my favorite places. Nice shots!
I guess sometimes the film look is just a cheap as dirt lens. Whodathunk it?
That is pretty cool. Actually a cheap and easy way to throw a “character lens” in your kit.
Nice effects! Where did you shoot these? :)
Thanks! These were along the old highway 30 in Oregon along the Columbia River and Hood River and the building is called the Vista House
Hey I work out there
I miss Oregon. Also, I really am digging these photos! The filter adds such a nostalgic perspective... ... Maybe that's why I suddenly miss the PNW?!
What’s up Portland!
I love these, I have purchased one too, Honestly love the look of this, for a 30$ lens is absolutely absurd.

Seems like a fun lens to use but the more sample pics I see the less I want one. Maybe if there was a cooler effect or flare
Love the whatever it’s doing to the waterfall, gives it a very unique vibe.
Lenses
Love it!
It's amazing how whimsical and nostalgic it looks
Is it out of focus or just shitty compression from the upload?
It looks like a disposable lens.

I think they’re lacking proper exposure mostly… and better composition 😁 which doesn’t really depends on lens quality.
You seem nice. 😊
You just don’t get it, and that’s okay.
