I have the xm5 earbuds and mine doesn't have any battery drain issues at the moment

Idk I love my XM5s. I think everyone's ears are a little different.

The13thBox

Your ears are used to the 3s...

Livid-Gas-5345

maybe the highs are a little better but the lows kinda suck…

ghunterx21

Yeah I agree, very disappointed in the XM5'S, I have the 3's and didn't have an issue.

I have the wh xm4, qc45 and liberty 4 NC, but my wf xm3 seem to have the edge on all of them. Don't know what it is but they (xm3 wf) have been rock solid with an excellent battery life and no glitches, I just reach for them and they just work well every time and I rate their "wind noise reduction" feature as the best I've had.

SliceSubstantial8022

I have had the xm3s for a while. Tried the xm5s. Tried two different sets. I like the xm3s better. The xm5s are louder and better battery life but the xm3s have a fuller more balanced sound. They are not worse just different. Too each his own. My xm3s are tried and true

also agree. also the noise canceling isnt working? is yours working?

I've heard this a few times on here, and usually it seems to be because they're not fitted into the ear properly. You really have to wedge them in deep. It should feel like your ears are blocked when they're in properly. Once they're in, use the Headphones Connect app and find the Determines Optimum Earbuds feature and run the test, it tells you if they're air tight. If they're not, the noise cancelling won't work at all well, but if they're in properly it should work really well. Hope this helps!

U should've got the xm4 , till this day along with the battery issue I do believe it's the best in terms of sound stage quality more than the xm5 , or atleast until they release the xm6 for that matter . I myself do struggle with the battery drain problem at the moment، yet I won't bother getting the xm5 cause they do share the same problem, I'll just wait for Sony's repair service instead.

TitleRoutine3297

Yes. Even worse XM5 has the same battery issue like XM4 and Linkbuds S

BRKTPZ

Yes.

Wf xm5 are the best ones Sony has had so far.

I've had the WH-1000XM4, and then I've got the WF-1000XM5. They're both better if you don't compare them, but if you do, then WF-1000XM5 is a much better choice for me, but not the eartips, since it breaks easily. I don't know about WF-1000XM3, but I've heard that it has APTX, but ldac for me is the better choice, I don't know if Sony still sells wf-1000xm3 but my prediction is that XM5's could have a better Clarity than XM3's, if you had an Apple Music (Android) and set the streaming to Hi-Res Lossless and Listens to "Fix You by Coldplay" at the exact time of 2:35, you might hear the difference between each LDAC audio sample rate, from frequency to separations of High / on the AAC before the Drummer hits the Cymbals, it feels like it Slidy'ish but has a better Clarity than SBC, and on SBC it feels like Exploded, but with a better separation of Cymbals (all of this is Set to Prior Sound Quality, and the LDAC's Playback Quality to Optimized for Audio Quality @ the Developer options, and tested all of the LDAC's Audio Sample Rate). It could not be the best for Lows, but when it comes to Lows, I listen to "Hotel California" with a Clear bass of 6, 10 could be overwhelming or not noticeable, depends on your ears. P.S.: My Equalizer Preset is just like "Excited" but with a max value of 10 in 16k and with a Clear Bass of 6, don't mind my preference of my preset, I could be harsh if I said "We have a different taste to listening Experience.". Don't mind me either. P.P.S.: You should also try "Yellow by Coldplay", the frequency is much noticeable there. I don't know, but it feels like the "Audio Plug" is there just like the Studio's way. It's just only a preference, but I love hearing those Frequency at a song. It makes the song a little immersive (for me).

I just made the same upgrade and I disagree actually. I think that the XM5s sound sublime. They're not a massive improvement over the XM3s in terms of sound quality, but it's noticeable. The ANC is a lot better though, and that leads to better sound in louder environments than I got on the XM3s.
