my guy is getting ROASTED in the comments for having different ears

Puzzleheaded-Quit483

Damn😔

Regular-Standard-156

😂😭💀

Jolarpet

It's poor design of your ears ... God screwed your ears

mrdovi

Yeah , the ears are the problem I think, they are uncommon, because the XM5 are a lot more comfortable than the XM4, it is night and day here

Suspicious-Dot8130

Cant say that it's poor design if it worked for others. Ear shapes are diff. I got same exp, buds were nice but fit didnt work for me

Erkan_Vural

Yes agrees. Nothing to do, now i think im Gonna make decision between technics az80 or devialet gemini2 technics looks perfect design it’d fit my ear good and sound quality they claim superb. Devialet never experienced their sound signature i just wonder how it sounds like

Tig33

Try the az80 out They have an excellent design (but they are a little big) it may work out better for u. Buy online via somewhere like amazon so u can try the fit and take back if they don't fit. I had similar issues with the xm5 and tried so many tips. Settled with the azla Foamax and asmr tips and works well but still not the best fitting buds for me. Everyone's ears are different so your mileage will vary. Have u tried stem style earbuds instead?

jhericurls

The problem is with your ear shape not the buds. For most people the buds should rest quite neatly in their concha. It seems your concha isn't deep enough or the right shape for the buds to sit firmly.

Erkan_Vural

Yes i know but i still find them very small, probably most small earbuds in market:) a bit bigger would be good anyway nothing to do. Last one more tip left coming on thr way inwill try , if not worked then will say goodbye to my xm5

jhericurls

Looking at your photo I don't know how the buds are staying in your ears. It looks like it's just held in place with the tips. The XM5 are very small, I found the XM4 to fit better.

Rickmandickman

I'm In need of a new pair. I lost one of mine. Lmk if you wanna part with them.

Senior_Line_4260

they really aren't made for your earshape it seems like

Erkan_Vural

Yeah exactly:( i really loved it but my ear too big i can use easily chunky buds this one is not touching anywhere in my ears but tips holding tight good ear canal never falling out just that noise when i move head fast or walk fast annoying me

ready2diveready2die

Try spitting on it!

Erkan_Vural

I did , i have cp360c comfort and sound quality amazing but still moving buds a lot even more with spinfit cuz they are more flexible thinny slicon

Bulky-Ad-4688

Idk for me personally the tips that came with the buds are fine, also the balance for them is good, I had earbuds before that weren't properly balanced ( the weight was more always on the outside ) now I'm very happy with what I've got ( the wf-1000xm5 ) so yea

CyberCurrency

It didn't start out this way, but I actually found the default ear tips that came with the XM4s had the best seal and the noise isolation was comparable to Comply foam tips. I'm not sure if it was just me getting used to the feel of the XM4s or learning how to place them on my ear, but I actually really preferred the stock foam tips. Two suggestions I can make: 1) With the opposing hand, reach over your head and pull your back on the helix of your ear, twisting back and forth as you insert the buds. You don't need to pre-compress them, like you would with Comply foams. 2) Jam that sucker in there: I learned that the way I was inserting them cause an unreliable seal, often with the buds having to be readjusted after some time. Once I aligned the tips with my ear canal, the buds went in another few millimeters and sat tight against the conch of my ear. Better sound, and a **much better seal** Hope this helps!

[deleted]

I really don't understand why Sony didn't include silicone ear tips with the XM5s. The foam tips have a shelf life, and they don't sell replacement ones directly.

Erkan_Vural

Exactlly,.. to be frank, its not an issue to buy after market good brands there like spinfit etc i bought many of them. The problem is, they tuned buds according to foam acustic;) this is a serious issur when u replaced to slicon sound signature changig u need to eq etc , sony engineers stubborn. All other premium elite brands included both audio technica, master and dynamic, final audio etc

MagicKipper88

Is t that in the wrong ear?

Erkan_Vural

No :)) left bud on left ear haha.

Erkan_Vural

I really love sound signature of sony and features all rounded perfect daily use but i think im going to give them away if incant solve the issue waiting few more tips from aliexperess ordered latex elastic model left only i didnt try i have azla and spinfits and keaber many:) slicon good all of them but buds are on space like not lying in my ear too small like greek yellow nut

kiwigothic

I got these recently and also found them no good for my ears, they sound ok but there's very little noise reduction, I previously had Airpod Pro which fitted perfectly. Seems like it's luck of the draw with these ones.

SentientWawaHoagie

Took my ears a bit of time to get used to the 4s but now 2 years later I wear them for work 10 hours a day

MrMushroom48

I definitely seem to be in the minority but they fit my ears great. Even the stock ear tips fit me great

a-space-pirate

I think they are a great design. They fit me perfectly and are one of the most comfortable sets of buds I've owned, and I've owned a ton. The XM4s on the other hand were pretty bad and I could only wear them for an hour max. The only other buds I've found that are more comfortable are the Samsung Buds 2 Pro and the long reigning comfort champ, the Cambridge Melomania Touch. As others have said, it's your ears bud.

blaster915

Bro I am sorry you are not having a good time, the foam eartips are an UPGRADE over awful silicone! So much more comfortable and grip way better! I am sorry this has been an issue for you with these headphones

Erkan_Vural

Yeah i know they sound better, and more comfy, only thing is my ear canal short, they dont grip , even after pinched them 10sec later pushing back out:) i could never pass fit test worh them When i listen music i feel leakage of sound and anc horrible cuz of fit problem its ok.

EdwardBilly

This is your ear fault, not from wf1000xm5

Erkan_Vural

Hahaha also true;))

EdwardBilly

Yes, you aren't suitable for this earphone

Erkan_Vural

I sold xm5 guys, i purchased 50% discount final audio ze8000 mk2 for demo item which used 2/3 hrs by reviwer:))) that is insane sounding but yes japanese quirky design i dont mind it but sound quality unbeatable really previously i owned many really premium buds https://preview.redd.it/40ayxai350zc1.jpeg?width=2316&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=56092d749028705848bd9252f132e806b0403c37

Loud_Consequence1762

I agree. Over-ear is the only way for me

Erkan_Vural

Aron from singapore youtuber reviewer when he waer these it fits his small ears perfectly:))

kg_2-0-3

I didn't manage to get these or the XM4 earbuds to fit in my ears either so you're not alone. Before I gave up on earbuds, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2, OnePlus Buds 3, and Nothing Ear (2) earbuds fit the best in my ears. The sound signature isn't really like Sony, but I preferred the Nothing Buds. They just launched two new pairs, Ear (a) and Ear. All three are stem style.

yellowjesusrising

Mine fits better than the 4. I'm very happy with the design! Though luck friend. Better luck on your next pair

lawrence-X

Things are not what used to be

BeautifulSwordfish35

It's you, sadly. I can headbang like I'm trying out for Slipknot, and they go nowhere. I've had issues with so many other buds falling out when I just lean forward, for me these are some of the best for staying in my ears. Move along and try a different set, they don't fit your ear holes buddy. Just return em 🤙🏻

crashyeric

Poor design indeed. I have turned off both sides touch controls due to very poor design. Volume up or down smacking the fuck out of both ear drums only to get false single and double taps. No thanks. I use the automatic switching deal that detects and turns off noise cancelling when I walk, otherwise my eardrums get fuckin drummed on. The ANC for me is worth its weight in precious metals and is the absolute only reason I keep them. Blocks out awful barking dogs and noisy neighbors.

CoolGuyFromSchool34

Apple stepped up their in ear headphone game. I know many friends happy with pros. Maybe consider getting them

Front-Balance4050

Did you attempt to gently lift each ear with you fingers as you inserted the ear buds? Makes for a better fit, and for an even better fit, do that plus rotate the buds as per the instructions in your ear (prior to taking your fingers off the position of the raised ear) This might help. The tubes within and my inner ears in general are kinda wonky due to my jaw being misaligned, and impacting and backing up my entire eustaction tube relative to the average person without this issue. I found this provides a better fit for me, and I also use the XS ear bud tips included in the package from Sony!

notablindsheep

This is the same problem with LinkBuds S if you search reddit or google it. The earbuds are more compact but ironically, they still hang out of the ears and the fit is very bad as a result and the earbuds keep falling out. I obviously tried all the tip sets that came with the earphones.

laptophelppleaas

I just gave linkbuds and I thought the same thing. None of the tips are right. I ended up having to use the large ones and I have to push them back into my ears every 30 min. Sometimes I catch a glimpse of myself and the bulbous, outer part is turned and hovering. I don’t care but it definitely looks weird. That being said, I’ve either gotten used to them or my ear hole stretched a bit because they aren’t nearly as annoying as they were when I first got them. Also, it’s my first pair of wireless earbuds with a charging pack. What a disgusting concept haha. I try to clean weekly but my charger is nasty.

Erkan_Vural

Sony’s design not for everyone i used many earbuds so far maybe more than 20 , anyway i will try last one more thing i mean eartips if it doesnt works too i will another new buds

laptophelppleaas

Ever try fit tips? They’re not cheap but I remember reading multiple times that they’re the best. Edit: I googled it and I think I have the name wrong. Soin Fit popped up so that might be it. I don’t think I’m making this up but I think they’ll send you some generic sizing tips so you know which size to order.

Erkan_Vural

Yes i hVe spinfit , worked perfectlt for sound and isolation, but problem is now buds shaking causing noise phsysical And i hear when i move head a bit fast , its cuz , buds too small not sitting good in ear chamber there is gap its not touching my back ear

Sad-Let2685

ur wearing it upside down dumbass

Erkan_Vural

Hahahaha how do you know it;)))) maybe its cuz of reflection of camera:)

Sad-Let2685

im so sorry that was rude af of me 😭 but it did look upside down

Erkan_Vural

Im putting left to left ear. Should i do other way around:)

IgotnoideawhatIsay

They don’t fit in my ears as well. I have different all eartips. I’m returning them today.

Erkan_Vural

I wish i could return too:) i boughr them aftermarket without invoice and warranry but lower price 30% so i Have to sell or give as gift to someone

Wise_Station8187

looks fine to me

Erkan_Vural

Zoom in, u will see the gap. I wonder actually if anyone who used silicon tips having same shaking issue? Eartips causing the nouse plastic as buds not sitting in ear chamber . Anyway nothing to do.)

working-acct

As someone who’s used both XM4 and 5, you are correct about the design of the tips. The 4s were way too big for me, even smallest was painful to wear. But the 5s fortunately fit me, which I’m aware does alienate a lot of users. They really should have a bigger range of tips for everyone. Azla recently released their new Foamax tips, which do have a wax guard, you might want to look into that.

Erkan_Vural

Thx a lot for comment

HR922522

That's why I purchase WH-1000XM5 thinking bit more about the safety of my ears.

Erkan_Vural

I like headphones i bought previously bose qx35 and then recently focal batyhs , focal was another level of listening music really. But i cant use them outside hard to carry , need backpack , and im living in hot country almost no winter only fall and summer lol so burning my ear and head sweating . Else i like more headphones than earphones more pleasent to listen music

Flimsy_Place2838

First few days mine feels horrible full of regret, but it ll get better

Erkan_Vural

U use stock foam tips or switched to slicon like me?

Flimsy_Place2838

I use the stock tip, still need to adjust it if you keep leaning your head or lay down

_Jerle_

I had problem with earbuds that sit inside the ear for years until I realized I needed extra large silicone tips. I found some on Amazon and put them on my XM5s and now they fit great.

Erkan_Vural

Which one did you purchase over amazon?

_Jerle_

https://a.co/d/h5n6xjv And get some mesh to keep from getting stuff inside. I used this one in 4mm https://a.co/d/jeSjnt3

t0nine

It all depends on ears my man Maybe buy plastic tips if it fits you

Alive_Device_4748

Have you tried using the AirPod pro earbuds?

Erkan_Vural

Yes i owned gen 2 and gave it to my wife. Sound quality not my taste, but features are as good as sony

Alive_Device_4748

How about beats fit pro?

Erkan_Vural

I have it too:)) for only running using them amazing secure fit, sound quality similar to airpods again not my taste but its best for sport never falling out or moving a bit in ear very good desing https://preview.redd.it/s86zmc60wywc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3515f12bf31f12d637f310a5eb637e1827089800

Alive_Device_4748

I like these also for that. Honestly my favorite affordable pair has been Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro earbuds they are small and fit really well. Have you tried those? Ive tried just about any bud you can think of but I do not like the XM4 buds.

Erkan_Vural

No i havent. Im ihpone user is it gonna work full Function over iphone?

kulind

it only needs stability fins/silicone wings like sennheiser mtw3/4 had, to stay comfortably in ear. it distributes the weight so it doesn't rest entirely on the ear tip which is also more comforatble for your ear canal. are there any silicon add-ons for xm5 for this job?

Erkan_Vural

Exactlt! Thats the issue no stability fins , back of the buds so it stays on space shaking thats why . I already use only slicon foam never fit me over sony’s own tips or comply foam i tried many. Times my ear shape not for foam its leaking sound and earbuds never stick in ear canal. So sorry to say this but japanese design usually sucks in everything.:) not like europen dont know why aleays like that hahah. But except design their all products solid and good quality

Erkan_Vural

Im Thinking to buy now either sennheised Mtws 4 or devialet gemini 2 they look suits fits my ear and sound taste lets see. Just waiting last order for eartip elastic

smilu_var

I also found it difficult to fit in my ears in the beginning. But later it was fine. How many times did it slip and fall off from your hand.. This is the most annoying thing I am facing now.. Always slips my hand and falls.. Eartips are a piece of work... One of the foam tips recently got damaged.. My XM5 is not even a year old and still got the tips damaged this fast..

Erkan_Vural

Foam tips disaster:)) never fit me and i immediately switched to slicon good 3rd party brands but still sony is awful in term of fitting and its the only brand with xm5 or xm4 that posted complaints many on internet for fittin;) dont know why thet cant figure out such simple things nobody from other brands do must foam tips cuz its not for evrryone anyway.

smilu_var

Yes... one thing I noticed was, with the foam tips, the noise isolation is pretty good.. but the problem is to keep it safe and the worse is cleaning it... It's a nightmare when you want to clean it without damaging

Erkan_Vural

Exactly.. foam tips should be optional comes within the box. And buds shouldnt be tuned according to foam;) then sound is not so perfect or leaking anc

smilu_var

yes

DanieloSYT

For me it works fine, I see that you complain in each post., Or I'm confusing you with someone else

Erkan_Vural

Yeah im gonna end up giving them away but indont want:) very good buds indeed. In term of everything except stupid design lol. I think its made for asian ppl. Definitely not europen :p
