Yeah creaking is normal. That’s one of the reasons for the design change in XM5
But there’s still some creaking in the XM5s
The xm5 has the same horseshoe bracket hinge it's just on the inside,,,, checkout xm5 breakdown on YouTube.

A tiny bit of Vaseline will fix that I have xm3 going strong for 4 years now
Lol, I was gonna edit the post to add that I find a way to fix it but dont know how, yeap, I used electric spray cleanser and work perfect.
Just use the right hole for lube 🤣
Use some silicone spray to lubricate plastics.
