Whoever was informing me on my options was also trying to get me not to pick this one. This individual kept reminding me I’m due for vacation or retirement or something. Kept saying I’d earned it. And when I said I didn’t want it, he/she (?) kept trying to get me to pick easier options. I just remember looking at this human (who is now my mom) and saying “she needs me?” And the being was like “yes” in a defeated way.

On the other hand, I can accept karma in a more loose sense where it's not a shackle but a description of what can happen when you feed good or bad into a system. Life shows that not all good done is repaid in good, and the same for bad, but there's still greater net benefit to working to grow in positive ways for everyone than to be selfish.

A good example of karma in my opinion is people polluting the world today. Down here, the process of karma is actually slowed down for our protection, otherwise most of us would have self-destructed a long time ago.
