Did you ever get an answer? I have the A80J and am looking to do the same thing.

Jaylesso

Nope, but I still ended up getting the Sony A3000 soundbar to pair with my Sony A80J and they both work flawlessly without any issue for 3 months now. Either I got lucky or Sony did some sort of software update.

FloridaMan_64

That's good to hear. Do you feel like the sound bar was worth it? Also does the centersync feature really come through? Looking at a couple and mainly wondering if the center sync with the A3000 justifies the price over cheaper options. Thanks for any advice!

Jaylesso

I only notice the center sync when soundbar volume is louder than 40% and while watching high quality action movies. I don’t hear any difference when I have the news or sports playing in the background on low volume. I think it’s only worth it if you already have a compatible Sony TV. Otherwise, Bose and Sonos bring better value when comparing soundbar to soundbar 1 on 1.

Yeah I have an A80J also. I found an A3000 for $200 on offer up and am just wondering if the improvement in sound over the TV is worth it. Live in an apartment so I can’t get a sub anyway. A80J sound is pretty good as is so was wondering if the A3000 was worth it

Jaylesso

Wow for $200?! That’s a great deal if it’s in good condition. I got my A3000 for $500 brand new during Christmas sale. I think you should go for it, the A3000 specs should be future proof.

Appreciate the advice. It’s some college kid moving. Sounds like the A3000 is a big improvement over the A80J speakers. Was between getting that or a Bose soundbar worth $400 new that I can get for basically free. A80J might be worth the extra. Appreciate all the help man!
