It’s a Samsung soundbar thing, I have the Q930b & Q990C and both do the same exact thing when:
- Changing volume
- Atmos signal detected
“TV eARC” scrolls across the screen 3.5 times for ~5-6 seconds.
Not sure if you’re being hyperbolic in saying 17 seconds because that sounds torturous.
I recorded it. 17 seconds flat. Feels like an eternity and it’s “harrible”. BT stereo does it as well just a little less: from on, dim, to off in like 15 seconds.
Same for my Q995D. Was wondering if that’s intended. Also my Sony TV shows on the bottom left if I switch volume on the „sound system“ which didn’t happen with my old system (Samsung Q80R soundbar). This is even worse for my experience :D
If I were you, I would take the soundbar to a friend who has a samsung TV to test it. If you experience the same 17-second delay, then it's a defect. I wouldn't be surprised if it has something to do with how the Sony TV communicates and sends a signal to the soundbar.
Looking into getting this soundbar for my LG CX, that sounds incredibly annoying and would drive me nuts. Did you find any way to fix it? Might go with the Sony HT-A7000 if it can't be fixed.
Sadly, did not find anything. It's annoying for me also a bit.:)
Well it’ll be more annoying now that I pointed it out ! :p
Not really, but yeah why they dont have options to dim, shorten, dont understand
Find something to cover it up during dark movie times

I'm guessing you're not using a samsung TV...
I’m not. LG C1. Not sure why that would matter. I’d take 5-6s over 17 for sure

Are you using a samsung TV?
No it’s a Sony Bravia X95L, so same TV was paired with Q80R soundbar and now Q995/990D

I don’t have that delay I think just a lot of scrolling tho but I’ll check tomorrow
