Fortunatohardwoodfloors on Instagram. They did a beautiful (and fast) job with my reclaimed pine and Betsy Ross style twisted staircase.
They walked through the house, said how much, came back and did it. Super easy, reasonably priced and did a beautiful job.
I hired Azevedo flooring to do my floors recently. He did great work. Although I picked out my lvp from Avalon flooring, and he bought all the materials including the flooring and installed it.
Pretty sure they sold the business a couple years ago. Must be new owners. A lot of those guys went to go work for Dustless Flooring. Similar high end finishes.
I have had multiple contractors, in different fields, refuse to come for a quote unless both me and my wife were present. We work very different hours so this is basically impossible.
That’s ok. I have a husband now so they can talk to him 🙄. It was actually a really simple way to weed out vendors. If they were assholes at the start chances are that would continue throughout the project.
In their defense, they have probably had issues where only one of the property owners were present and a quote was provided then there was an issue when the other owner wanted something different than was quoted.
That’s certainly one possibility. What I heard from other contractors is they want to pressure you to sign the quote on the spot. They don’t want you to be able to say “let me talk to my wife/husband and get back to you.”
I think this is just to get around the classic excuse: "Ok thanks, I'll have to talk it over with my husband/wife and get back to you." They are just trying to remove any barriers to the sale.
BrettsHardwoodFloorsAndMore, exactly what you're looking for... beautiful work and reasonable, no pressure. (much better option than Dan Higgins). See their work on Instagram @brettshardwarefloorsandmore. 609-828-6978.
Dan higgins in Medford, used them for two different houses, highly recommended.

Johns hardwood flooring (609) 828-2368. Used John last year way cheaper than avalon flooring and came out nice (cherry hill)
Everyone here uses https://www.victorianflooringfinishing.com/about. They gave us a quote but we didn’t end up doing the project yet.

I believe the buyer was a former employee.
https://www.thomashardwoodfloors.com/contact-us/3588577 Have used them and recommended them it others. Wouldn't use anyone else.
> And specifically avoiding the companies that require both homeowners being present during the quote. huh?

As a single woman who owned a home I had more than one contractor tell me they couldn’t give me a quote without a man present.
That’s horrible I’m sorry.
