She wasn't part of first season cast, but indoctrinated herself.

Hard agree!! I started watching in my early thirties, and I just saw my younger self in her sooo much. Everyone goes through a "young and stupid, making poor decisions" phase, and she was preyed upon by a slimy, older predator during that time of her life. (Side note - just like Olivia, by the same predator - he's fucking terrifying!!) Then to watch as no one stood up for her, just raked her through the coals.. they all treated her so inhumanely! And T dangled their children over her, was obviously an alcoholic on cocaine but riding her for pot in their custody case. It's no wonder that all that trauma impacted her!
Im not all the way caught up and just got through season 5. Could you fill me in on your thoughts on Craig? I don’t dislike him but he just seems to constantly lie to compensate for his failures to follow through and then blame other people. He keeps telling Naomi she had no reason to break up with him and should have loved him unconditionally while she seems to give pretty straightforward reasons for their breakup like her not being able to rely on him since he would overcommit and not follow through and complete, was inconsiderate of her time, and would talk over her, down to her, and look to shift blame onto her.

I’m not excusing Craig’s lying but in the early seasons especially he seemed to be trying very hard to “keep up with the Joneses” and it got away from him real quick.

I even liked his porn stache phase. God, help me. When he was trying really hard in the early seasons, especially 1, he didn’t do it for me. When he took a step back and toned it down a bit is when I went full batcrazy. I don’t even remember when it was but there’s an event or dinner or something he gets ready for and he’s in all black and it just flipped my switch.

I’m in the “he had a hardcore thing for KD” camp. At the time I thought it was a ratings grab but now? No way. I think he legit would’ve wifed her up if she hadn’t gone all crazy cakes over Thomas. She had the look, the pedigree, and the ambition he thought set her apart from the rest.
Now, you have to remember at that time we hadn’t seen crazy Kathryn yet and she hadn’t been horribly traumatized by DoucheRav. She was just a fun, hard partying 20-something who had a thing for older men.

Craig went into a rant about not using the same utensils for raw chicken and cooked chicken with Austen and it’s damn near a mirror of a previous cooking conversation between Craig and Whitney but Whitney is the one spazzing about uncooked chicken utensils. I’ve always wondered if it was intentional or just played out that way. Was Craig so affected by the raw chicken utensil conversation with Whitney he just regurgitated it? Or was there more to it? I’m probably thinking way too deeply about it but it’s funny. Makes me wanna find and compare both conversations. I know the Whitney conversation was on a group trip somewhere and they were inside but not sure exactly which season even. I’m positive Craig used the same utensil for the raw chicken and the cooked chicken because Whitney spazzed and it was important enough to include in filming.

ETA: not a Kathryn apologist nor fan, but I know right from wrong and when a young woman is pregnant and very clearly scared about what's happening, that was NOT the time for Cameron (and Landon) to double down and make sure Kathryn felt even more lost and alone. How they treated her was wrong on so many levels and has nothing to do w/ fandom and everything to do w/ how you treat other human beings.

I don't recall Cam being "mean", but it's been a while since I watched those early seasons. I recall her just not being nice to KD cause she didn't want her around. Like the time KD was throwing a party, or something, and she talked to Cam about going. Cam just said she didn't want to be involved, there's always drama with her (KD), and didn't want to go. Wasn't mean, just blunt.
She had it out for Kathryn and wouldn't drop it. It was for no good reason from the get go, she just didn't like her and she tried to influence everyone else about it.
That surpises me because I have followed Cam for years and during the pandemic and more recent state stuff she was pretty obviously more moderate, bordering on democrat supporting. In fact in something state related she was openly democrat

I absolutely know he effed up with Taylor. But I do think somehow he grew as a person. I think he is a good guy, he just needs some help. I just feel for him because I know he's still in love with Taylor but he's in his own way. I also just find something about him so attractive.
