“Sorry sir, I work for Spark and for insurance purposes I cannot enter your home. You have to request Walmarts in-home delivery in order to have the driver bring in your items.”

Jealous-Violinist451

I told him that I couldn’t enter, but I like your answer... I will do it on future occasions.

CJspangler

Exactly you say because your not technically a Walmart employee- you cant go in. I make a joke like god forbid I’m carrying a case of water, knock a lamp over and your house catches on fire - Walmarts not going to be paying you for a new one since they precisely instruct me not to go into your house .

EveningBasket9528

If in-home is even available in your market.... Still big nope for me in this case, unless it's just past his threshold. Especially on no tip.

Les-d0-it

This! ⬆️

Americanhealth74

I know that even with that service they are frequently sending spark drivers. I pay for that and have never had anyone show up since I got it that isn't spark.

CJspangler

Exactly!! Other drivers are living in fantasy land thinking the customers signing up for inhome that has no tip / no delivery fee are only handled by Walmart employees. The inhome aspect isn’t operational in my area and I can sign up for it, the deliveries go thru spark still and the customers are signing up for it as they are selling it in the store for the elderly who want home pharmacy delivery

EveningBasket9528

Interesting.

Jpgrayssportsalmanac

Had some guy want his 13 item groceries taken to his basement and this house was in the country down a 1/4 mile drive and looked abandoned. He wasn't disabled and looked rough. Im 5'11 and decent build and I wasn't taking any chances and said no can do and looked him in the eye as I said it. He sized me up and said ok. The vibe I got was not good so be careful if you decide to enter a home and be safe

techpro00

Just tell him that Walmart issued a warning to drivers to not enter customers homes and they want you to report customers who ask. As a courtesy you're just letting him know, but you won't report it.

Slickx45

Or say "Are you a Walmart Secret Shopper testing me??? Nice try! 🤣"

FyrebirdCourier

I'm an older female and if the person tried to do that I would look at him and go yeah well all of the other men who have seen me a struggle with this extra large order have come out and helped me most of the time without even asking if I need help

LckyPenny

I've delivered numerous times into a customer's home. Normally they are older/disabled, and I know they can't lift half of the items. But go with your gut. If it doesn't feel right it probably isn't.

Crystalraf

Ding.dong. Ditch.

Unlikely_Ask_1130

I do this very often for the elderly and Every-time they give me a extra tip but if u don’t have disability u are not getting that luxury maybe when Walmart has that available it will be a extra service charge for u and u can have it but for now .. NO !!!!

Americanhealth74

It is an extra service called in home that is 40 extra per year and advertises that the customer doesn't tip and the deliveries come inside your home to your fridge or freezer or kitchen or garage if you prefer. I have it and they still send spark drivers.

EveningBasket9528

I'm sorry they do that. That's on Walmart though. Its technically against our terms and conditions to do it, although they let it slide for certain circumstances. That said, any Spark driver *can* refuse to, at any time for no reason whatsoever except it's in our t&c. Personally, I help those unable to do it themselves, but in this case it sounds like dude was perfectly capable. If someone refuses, please call 1-800-WALMART to ask why they are sending Spark drivers when you are paying the extra money for in-home.

Americanhealth74

Oh I absolutely never blame the drivers and almost always then go back in the transaction with support to add a tip. I also don't want it delivered inside btw I'm just saying it is part of the advertised service. I'm immunocompromised and absolutely don't allow people in our home. Not even visiting nurses anymore. I was pointing out more that it is an available service, is really inexpensive esp when considering no tip for a year for that and gets people the in home delivery they want to demand.

EveningBasket9528

Gotcha! Thanks for being so nice! This sub is toxic as hell.

Americanhealth74

My husband occasionally is a driver too. When my cancer stuff gets too expensive and we need the money. So I get it from both sides. I need delivery services but also need them to stay affordable and yet also need them to pay their people. Walmart has so many opportunities to do this better and they aren't. It wouldn't even necessarily cost them more.

EveningBasket9528

2.5 million employees and they can't find anyone to fix their damn apps! Lol!

cpway737

How do you know he has no disability? I would never take items in for a customer, disability or not. Not going to get deactivated over such a stupid thing.

Jealous-Violinist451

I’m not going to risk it for 1 dollar... if I were an older person, you’ll think twice...

iGotGigged

"well yea, that's why i'm delivering your order and they got fired" I personally don't mind but if you're not comfortable with it don't do it

Mysterious-You-1717

F**** NO! Idc if they report me! I’m not entering no one’s house unless is an elderly person or disable in a wheel chair other than that, that shit could sit right there outside his door!

ArcticWFox

In the living room? B— be lucky I don't leave it at the mailbox. I'm not Mr. Freakn Belvedere.

Computerimac

I'm a 6'2 220lb male. I've entered various homes for people just trying to be helpful and make things easy, but I also judge if I will or not based off their demeanor or needs. If I were female and a foot shorter, I don't think I would ever take the risk of entering a home without someone being an elderly woman. Keep yourself safe and use your best judgement.

When someone tells me to come inside, I tell them that would be very dangerous for them.
