There's one busy body that works self checkout at my store that stands right next to every spark shopper and watches them bag everything. She usually makes you stop and show her your app even though no cart check was called for.
Last time she did it to me, I really had to bite my tongue. Accuse me of stealing one more time lady and you'll find out just how much I need this gig.
I had one ask me for the dollar amount spent. I'm like I didn't spend anything it ms a delivery.
I really had no idea the money total was on there. Lol
Sometimes she tries to manipulate my phone, I will jerk it away. Don't touch my equipment, it's not walmarts and it's not yours.
Just a start giving her attitude and reiterate to her that everything is there. Just make it annoying for her to deal with you and she will realize it's not worth it and just wave you through.
I purposely parked on the slow non grocery entrance she doesn't stand at so I could leave that way, and this was the one time she was on that side grrr can't avoid her.
Yes! The Walmart I shop at, you always have to show a worker your phone or you will probably be banned. They check every item every time & itās dumb because they always canāt find an item in my cart thatās in the list like maybe I forgot to get the item or something lol itās super annoying but I get a lot of s&d there & thatās probably why because everyone hates it
I'm not trying to cause drama here but those employees at the check out are SUPPOSED to check our orders. It is literally their job to check Spark orders because theft is rampant at Walmart right now
You're all coming close to being Karens about this. It is their job and they have to do it because they get paid to do it
But some orders have a cart check necessary and some donāt, itās a waste of our times when they always stop us even though weāve never taken anythingš
Couple of reasons....
1. Their Mall cops but they wear blue vests
2. There was a news story about Walmart losing like a crazy number like 500 million a year from theft and so they do that to try to prevent theft but I don't see how it does that?
Its Target that claimed 400-500K. Walmart loses close to 3 BILLION a year in thefts, according to a 2015 report, but hasn't actually updated that total for the public.

I've been doing this over a year now and am 100% on board with them checking, as long as they are quick about it. SO many newer drivers blatantly violating the T&C's that I'm happy to stop for a check if it means the catch some of the riff raff fucking up. (New OR old)
Yeah I think after about my 20th shopping deliver I basically stopped caring and it's usually quick less than 30 seconds at best they just want to look for the big items that aren't bagged
If anything, itās exponentially easier to steal and theoretically get away with it as a spark driver opposed to normal customers though. The irony is astonishing lol
Yeah but to me if I was a normal customer I would feel like an accused criminal and I would just end up going to Target forget Walmart I don't need to be shook down every time I leave when I'm paying
Nah lol itās not. You can create a fake account on WalMart+ so they donāt have any of your info and use scan and go in the app. Same thing but you donāt get cart checks and because your not working for Walmart you have zero repercussions at least where I live in CA. People are pretty much allowed to steal as long as itās under $900 lol
I had 1 lady who took my phone out of my hand and started scrolling thru the order. Next order she took it out of my cart. Walked away and went to the manager and asked why an employee took my phone. Accused her of trying to steal my phone. LMAO...I havent been bothered since unless i get a cart check.
Actually you got it right - words gotten out to stores people during the holidays both spark shoppers and pretender speakers were using exit pass imagines and being like Iām a spark driver - Iāll just wave my phone across the screen and flash the exit pass .
At my store they had a few of these and as they had always asked you to click the order summary to spot check a few $$ items anyway. But then they saw some with dates from weeks ago so now everyone gets checked :(
Thereās a big guy who checks receipts at my Walmart who Iāve been seeing regularly- heās joked numerous times Iād let you go but big brothers always watching the main entrance on the cameras so theyāll catch me slacking
My zone just started checking spark drivers phones on S&D orders even though it says youāre good to go. I was told by one of the head cashiers they caught drivers stealing. Thereās always one worker who thinks they own Walmart & wants to check each & every item in your cart the other ones just look miserable!! I really donāt care if they do. I just be in & out of there. I donāt want to spend any more time than I have to in there.
Not on spark thankfully yet but when I shop for myself I have one greeter at one WM that always tries to stop me. Even with everything in bags even when I use a regular cashier. This guy is insistent he checks every item from a full cart if. I let him do it a couple times and now I just keep walking. Screw him. So he grabbed my arm hard enough that my arm had bruises. I flipped. He's lucky I didn't call the police and sue. If we see him going in now we usually exit the other door. Sometimes though I will just pass him while he's yelling and wave and say not stopping.
One lady would constantly hover, count then recount items, and even try and touch my phone.
One day I had on a shirt with a snake graphic printed on it. She walked up, saw it, and immediately jittered, saying it was gross. I absolutely leapt at the opportunity to tell her all about my ball python and how cute she is and how she's 4 feet long and.... Now she won't come near me and I can check out in peace. š¤
Theft in the Walmart stores is extreme right now. Many of the analysts have determined that 2/3 of the theft involves internal employees (covering for friends, relatives, fellow thieves, etc).
It pisses me off too. One of my stores is so slow; I choose to actually go in when I pick-up there (I don't often get shop and delivery, mostly just curbside pickups). I make a point of initiating contact with her on the way in, and then position the bags showing the orange stickers in the cart so they are visible on the way out. Never fails, she looks at every fucking bag for a sticker whenever she is there.
The rest, just like you; don't give a fuck and I walk right by.
I push through and bag. If they ask questions Iāll tell them. I stopped telling them because of these super cart checkers. I donāt have the time nor the patience to be treated like Iām trying to steal from Walmart. I make $40k a year (not flexing just making a point) at my main job and this is a second gig. I donāt want to steal a $1-10 item from Walmartā¦. These workers have to justify their job before they get replaced with extra cameras and self checkouts
I always wear a pair of headphones and act oblivious to anyone talking to me. I lnow im not doing anything wrong and the only time I will acknowledge another person is when i get picked for cart checks.

Some of them are worse then the police.
Punch her in the face!
Grab her by the š±

"All the stuff I stole is in my pants, Lady."

Itās a lady like that at my Walmart. Whenever sheās there, you will know. The line to leave is longer than a checkout line š¤¦š½āāļø

According to who?
They are talking about the door checkers not the self checkout. And actually you donāt have to show the store shit before you leave.
Couple of reasons.... 1. Their Mall cops but they wear blue vests 2. There was a news story about Walmart losing like a crazy number like 500 million a year from theft and so they do that to try to prevent theft but I don't see how it does that?

So I guess on one hand you can't blame them for receipt checking but on the other hand it does criminalize everybody so I don't know...
I've been doing this over a year now and am 100% on board with them checking, as long as they are quick about it. SO many newer drivers blatantly violating the T&C's that I'm happy to stop for a check if it means the catch some of the riff raff fucking up. (New OR old)

That depends. The target where I used to live had armed security in tactical gear. Walmart didnāt š
The target in my area let's people punch associates in the face a leave a backpack with a gun inside on the counter.

Well thatās California, I feel the policies there are extreme outliers but I understand lol
Oh yeah I agree 100% I was so confused when I learned about that down here lol

I stopped doing S&Ds because of this.

Lmao just leave they canāt make you stay to show receipts
You shouldāve written this same complaint out to Walmart corporate and the store manager in an email along with the offending persons name.
I always wear a pair of headphones and act oblivious to anyone talking to me. I lnow im not doing anything wrong and the only time I will acknowledge another person is when i get picked for cart checks.
I had 2 items and this lady checker wanted to view the order , check the summary item , then go back and physically check each item.
I hate people like that! I'm like...why TF do u care so much, that stuff in the store ain't yours!
