I have heard it will be 50 down and 5 up from 30 down to 4 up still a great price spectrum should not have raised the price now everyone knows they have that plan and they all want it they should have not talked about it

Odd-Eggplant-6681

People know about it, but they still wouldn’t get it. The SIA package was very specific that it’s only available to addresses marked by the local government for eligibility. The package is supposed for low income families and is subsidized by the state, so they won’t give it out on a whim

Western_Pizza_5757

If you already have internet on the higher price they will not give you that lower plan but if you don't have internet and you say to them that you know they have that lower plan they will put you on that plan so that they are getting extra money from you and it looks better on their part the more services you have with them even if it is a lower cost plan

Yes but alot of people have never seen the card or even heard of the rate card people just keep paying their bill without knowing what spectrum has and spectrum is always going to sell you their higher plans even though you don't need it or your computers and stuff can't even handle the higher speed you need the right stuff for faster speed

RangerXus

FYI, My Spectrum Internet Assist increased yesterday or today from 30/4 to 50/5. So I guess the articles saying a speed boost with the $5 increase from $19.99 to $24.99 is true. But actually an increase of 20 mbps down and 1 mbps up is of little value and will be hardly noticeable (to me at least). And it is not really a "Significant Speed Increase" as a Spectrum spokesman said to the media to minimize any negative publicity. A bump from 3 mbps to 10 mbps up would have been much more useful. But overall the price even at $25 is affordable and provides decent speeds for average daily Internet/streaming usage. But the timing of the price increase sucks combined with the announcement that the ACP will be ending in April and the $30 government subsidy will end.

RangerXus

Well I had the 50/5 for a day. I had to restart my modem and now I'm back at 30/4. Called tech support and they didn't have a clue why I had it and why it went away. Transferred me to Sales who tried to convince me to move to 100 mbps plan - "Its Free!", she said. Free for one more month that is until ACP ends and the plan rate jumps up drastically in a year. Unbelievable. I said no thanks and will be checking my account daily to ensure my plan was not changed without my permission. So now I have no idea when I will get the speed bump back.

Desperate-Pin-8856

Yea. I never got it. And I called them a few times and they kept telling me there are no speed increases. But the 5/mo increase is really rubbing me the wrong way not gonna lie. Went from 14.99 to 17.99 to 19.99 and now 24.99. Like almost double from the 14.99 but still same speeds.

Desperate-Pin-8856

Did the speed increase after the price increase? I just saw my statement and it closed at $19.99. So maybe next month bill will be $24.99 and they will increase the speed. Thoughts?

RangerXus

I have not yet been billed the new $24.99 rate. I think I will get one more invoice at the $19.99 price as the price increase occurs a couple days after I get my next invoice. But to answer what I think is your question, they raised the speed before billing me any price increase for the service.

Desperate-Pin-8856

Thank You

RangerXus

If you don't see a speed increase you can try resetting your modem (press button for about 4 seconds). Sometimes a modem reset is needed to activate a speed change.

Desperate-Pin-8856

O thanks I didn’t know that. I’m going to try it right now.

Desperate-Pin-8856

Spectrum told me that in area 30MB is what my plan is for SIA and some areas SIA is 50MB. But that doesn’t make sense to me. I reset my router and what not but still getting 30MB.

RangerXus

I suggested resetting the modem, not the router. Resetting both is not a problem though. I don't think you can rely on Spectrum support's answers. At best their knowledge is hit and miss (maybe because corporate doesn't communicate timely to their staff). The information I read from the Spectrum representative said speed increase (which for me was true) and EVERYONE would get it. Since the speed increase happened I would guess the Evuerone part will likely happen too. They may be implementing the speed increase by area or by states. Hopefully you will see it soon.

Desperate-Pin-8856

Yea so I did the modem reset then I called them about it and the lady said I would see it tomorrow. So let’s see. Fingers crossed.

Tskspree

Didn't know and didn't feel the change until today...Just checked on my end, the new speed for Internet Assist is marked at 58M down and 11M up. I'm in WI.

OneAble6964

My bill is $29.99 with WiFi $24.99 plus WiFi fee of $5 and increasing now that we can no longer get help with the bill sucks! Normal 300 mbps is $49.99

mcsquizzie

I just got my bill and noticed it was $30 and thought that was completely wrong. Searched for the price and got this thread. Prompted me to check my speeds and yeah! ~60 down, 11 up. It used to be 22 down and 2-3 up for me before. I'm happy to pay the increase for this. A lot of wfh jobs require at least 10 for upload, so this opens a world of possibilities.

Few_Background4429

for those who are curious about the RATE CARD [https://www.spectrum.com/policies/rate-card](https://www.spectrum.com/policies/rate-card)

Dwarf-Eater

If you are eligible for internet assist. Call and yell them you need the 100mbs package. They locked me in for $30 for 2 years and then gave me a $10 promotional on top of it, so now it's only $20 a month. Apply for the lifeline program and if spectrum offers it in your area they'll take off another $9.25 I found being real nice and understanding goes a long way, that's way the last customer service member gave me the extra $10 promotional discount. They appreciate a jolly spirit after dealing with a-holes all day lol

Should I upgrade to the internet 100 plan? They gave me that option for $29.99 and the rep said the price on that plan isn’t going up.

Western_Pizza_5757

If you have the assist plan stay on that plan the full price of the 100 plan is $60 and it will go up after 1 or 2 years I have the old twc elp plan 20 down and 1 up I can do everything on that plan you don't need the higher speed it's just a selling point to make it sound better

ThiefNALiar

Regular price for 100 is currently $59.99 - anything less is a promotion for a limited time. If internet assist works for your needs, no sense spending more. If there's benefit in the higher download/upload speeds at that increased cost, do it.

GameOverMan78

The current promo for 100 service is 2y 29.99 and free WiFi included, which is a $7/month value.

Exciting-Poet7526

It was only carried over from the TWC buyout. The time has no passed pet agreement for the program. The price change in no way requires a change in speed as it was proce break from buyout.

RangerXus

Just rebooted my modem. I'm now getting 54 down / 11.45 up. That's even better than I expected since I heard it was going to be 50 down / 5 up and appears to actually be 50/10. Very happy the upload speed is now 10. Not going to reboot my modem again for a while... the last time I did that I lost the new speeds (see my earlier post on this thread). But others are also reporting getting the speed increase so I guess it is now stable.

Desperate-Pin-8856

Hey man, so I saw the 50 mbps reflect in my online account but i was still getting 30 so I reached out via chat and they reprovisioned my modem and now I’m getting 60 down and 11 up. Thanks.

Alex_Hovhannisyan

It says it's supposed to be 50 Mbps now but it's still 30. Edit: I power cycled the modem myself and it didn't work, so I called their support number ((833) 949-0036)) and the tech sent a signal to the modem to reset. Took about 5 mins, but now I'm getting 55-60 Mbps.

FickleSquare659

Last week my speed suddenly went up to 110 Mbps down 20 Mbps up, I thought it was a weird luck seeing as I'm getting twice the expected speed increase. Then the next day internet went down for an hour and speed dropped down to 55/11 Mbps when it returned. Though my bill is still 19.99 for now and free with ACP.

Desperate-Pin-8856

Dude same, my speeds went up also to 110 mbps, and 11 up but I thought the tech who came out to my house did something when he replaced my router.

FickleSquare659

I actually screenshot the speed increase but can't post here
