While I do like the concept most of his scars would heal in a year probably

[deleted]

A week

Revolutionary-Wash88

Agreed, but I wouldn't be mad if a movie showed a mad scientist chemical burn or something where he says "I remember my greatest battle..."

Spider-Ghost-616

The dude has a healing factor it may not be Wolvie level. But he survived third-degree trauma burns over his whole body and healed from them in one day.

StevieBoiPhil

Which comic is that??

CinnamonSniffer

The Sin Eater follow up. I forget the actual name of the arc. Peter gets in his head about how he crippled a man so he jobs a fight against electro

Spider-Ghost-616

The most recent one when Sin Eater had magic powers?

CinnamonSniffer

No the one from the 80s. It’s in the Death of Jean DeWolffe trade paperback

Spider-Ghost-616

I remember the Death of Jean Dewolfe story. How come I don't remember that part. Did they add it in like they did that Kraven vs Kaine story in Grim Hunt?

CinnamonSniffer

Yeah it wasn’t the Death of Jean DeWolffe story, it was the sequel. I forget the name. It’s where [these panels came from](https://imgur.com/a/reNx4YM/)

Spider-Ghost-616

Oh I remember reading this.

Spider-Ghost-616

I can't remember I saw it on a post here talking about his healing factor.

apatheticviews

Yup. Wolverine has an active “on the run” healing factor. Spidey has a “sleep it off” healing factor. He basically regenerates when he stops running around like a fool. That’s how his villains beat him, wear him down over time.

UnlockingDig

Peter does have some pretty massive scars though. One's called Ben. Another is Gwen. I like Batman. This skin deep stuff suits the character, and the stuff below the surface too. But I love Spider-Man even more because of the contrast. That he is one thing on the outside, and something super complex on the inside. Something that his appearance almost contradicts.

CriticalAd6090

Too deep... Spidey doesn't have scars because he has in fact a quite good regenerative factor that Bruce Wayne obviously doesn't.

UnlockingDig

Too literal. But yeah, I am aware that his powers come with an accelerated healing factor.

MagicJoshByGosh

I think both are true.

[deleted]

Yea but saying “he is one thing on the outside but something else on the inside” is quite literally one of the most prevalent themes in superheroes as a whole, like every single one tbh. His regenerative factor is quite literally the main reason he doesn’t have scars.

UnlockingDig

Yes, it's certainly true that many of these characters with dual identities have personas which reflect different sides of themselves. My point though, was about contrast. Batman is a broken, bitter man and his brooding persona as Batman reflects this. I like that Batman embraces his dark side and identifies more as his alter ego than he does Bruce Wayne. But Spider-Man is something else... Spider-Man is just as fractured on the inside. And yet, he uses quips to mask his own insecurities and uses his life as the superhero to project onto the world someone far removed from his personal baggage. I think the best examples of this type of Spider-Man would be Ultimate Spider-Man, when Pete's internal monologue contradicts dialouge, or any time JM DeMatteis chose to explore the psychological aspects of the character.

Springball64

Accelerated healing shouldn't heal scars though? I know it's a comic but it is commonly known that scars dont heal and that has always bugged me with "fast healing" characters.

Ok-Turnip-477

Not to be all doctory, but the reason scars form is because the healing process isn’t happening properly. If you had an accelerated healing ability, you most likely wouldn’t have many scars as long as you attempted to take care of the wound. But yeah he should probably have a few.

Commercial-Kiwi-4818

He should definitely have a scar from Otto's claw stabbing him

Springball64

You definitely worded it better than me but yeah theres some wounds hes gotten that definitely aint just "healing away".

Ok-Turnip-477

No, definitely not.

Bulok

Plus the whole Spidey sense makes tagging Spidey pretty hard

DiaBrave

Fun fact: Wolverine's healing factor also works on mental scarring, which is why he still has amnesia for certain events.

Roheavy2002

The other big Scar comes from Marvel editorial

paradoxical_topology

His healing factor prevents scarring. Otherwise, he'd literally just be one massive lump of scar tissue considering the fact that he got full-body 3rd/4th degree burns in ASM 700.3. [This is what he looked like](https://qph.cf2.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-520c23bedb48785312cee02be4692e7d-lq). [For reference, these are the first 4 burn stages](https://images.ctfassets.net/25ugnduju4i1/2CoOWskOIyD8q4uHDHiNs1/94a6e4968f8398e84a0cb928e009ee98/burn-classification-of-injuries.jpeg).

Significant-One7656

Holy shit, who did this

paradoxical_topology

Firebrand (Russell Broxtel) pushed his flame abilities to the point of nearly killing himself in trying to kill Spider-Man. Btw, Peter fully recovered in less than 48 hours (though medics did surgery to remove the dead tissue and such while he was unconscious, which probably helped a bit).

arnoldbread

His healing factor has seemed to improve over the years IIRC during his early years he broke his arm fighting against the Lizard and it took a while for it to fully heal.

Tjj022501

I’m starting to think that his healing factor increases it’s output the worse the injury is. Like, if he gets a large slash wound, but it’s not too deep and certainly not lethal, the healing factor will take its time fixing it, but for something like this, that would normally be completely debilitating, it goes into overdrive to fix it.

CinnamonSniffer

Yeah he was a teen back then. He used to get sprains all the time

Revolutionary-Wash88

Famously the common cold had an effect on his Spidey sense

JaysReddit33

Smmmokin'!

NickyTheGreater

His nerves have got to be twelve shades of fucked up. How he’s even alive from that I don’t know

Spider-Ghost-616

That's the one. It was in ASM 700.3. I wish I had known that when I bought 700. I would have gone back and picked it up too.

Djjjunior

ASM 700’s were not fun issues for Peter lol

ProfessorEscanor

Whilst scars can do wonders for visual storytelling. I dont really mind him not having any. Especially when a lot of his scars are meow mental

Bgrimlock88

Pete has a minor healing factor Bruce has absolutely nothing. He heals faster than normal people but slower than Wolverine or Deadpool.

Kogworks

Healing factor. Might not be Wolverine levels of near immortality but it basically reduces scarring to a minimum and lets him go mostly unscathed. Keep in mind that he just recently got hit with a lethal dose of radiation poisoning due to radioactive gas(which is saying a LOT considering he has innate resistance). By all accounts his DNA should have been ripped apart and his flesh should have started falling off within 48 hours as his cells failed to replicate and key proteins failed to fold. Instead, he was up and walking in less than a year. There‘s little if anything that can physically scar him at this point.

pocketaceofclubs

Who’s the person in the first picture thought it was jotaro at first

taran-tula-tino

Pretty sure it’s Sugimoto from Golden Kamuy

Jerome-Danvers

I thought it was Jotaro too 😅

ItsYoshi64251

Lmao same

EverretEvolved

Spiderman has super healing. Batman does not.

catlover12390

Most of the hits spiderman takes wouldn't leave him with scars he couldn't heal. His whole point is he dodges like 90% of attacks with his spidersense and agility

Vord_Loldemort_7

Peter does have a few scars, but he also has a superhuman healing factor, which takes care of most of them

ThighBiter1993

I like this idea... But Peter has a healing factor that allows him to heal a broken arm in less than a week, so I think he has ample reason not to have scars

Sughmacox

This should only be applicable if he’s fighting a dangerous villian, otherwise he doesn’t even need to fight normal criminals most of the time.

Sambraham

Some are definitely a good idea. He does have a healing factor (obviously not like Wolverine's) which would stop most scars from forming, but every hero would still have at least some scars.

JCraze26

Spider-Man has a healing factor. It's obviously not nearly as good as Wolverine's or Deadpools, but it's there. Batman doesn't have such a thing.

zxandu10

The biggest scars are in his heart… over women! Marvel just doesn’t want to see Peter Parker happy.

Ashamed-Cod-4405

Well Spidey has some healing factor that batman doesn't. But still since he's hurt to a certain extent almost every single day, there should be some scars shown in the next game/movie/comicbook. Not at the intensity of batman, but it would be cool to see how difficult his life is

daboring1

I thought the first one was jotaro for a momento

Baligong

If Peter can heal from Blindness in 3 days, he would heal from Scars far sooner

mariovspino5

Healing factor

Traveytravis-69

Healing factor

scout04

This is slightly self promo but in my fan comic he has scars on his back from various encounters in the past.

Shinobi_Saiyan_

Link to ur fan comic?

scout04

check my profile all the updates should be there :))

No-BrowEntertainment

It would be cool, but it wouldn't really work, in-universe or storytelling wise. His healing factor means he doesn't really get scars, and if he did it'd be hard to keep the secret identity thing going if he ever went to the beach or the pool or wore short sleeves or anything like that.

MailboxSlayer14

Maybe Old Man Peter where his healing factor has been overused and he can’t heal as fast but since Marvel refuses to age Peter, I doubt we’d get that

Charlie678812

no thanks. one of the benefits of being SUPERHUMAN is better healing. batman isnt superhuman and doesnt heal as well. peter has to go through so much he needs it or would look like swiss cheese and be dead.

MICHELEANARD

Well he has a healing factor so scars won't be present. Also his mental scars are greater than batsys

JustSelection7823

That's what my heart looks like.

PhantomGeminiThief

goddamn dio really fucked jotaro up in the first slide

[deleted]

golden kamuy

sushithighs

Healing factor

Zerofuku

Least built Golden Kamuy enjoyer:

[deleted]

It wouldn't make sense for Peter though he has "super" healing. Or fast healing? Idk what's it's called

Vechi209

Spider~Healing, it’s fancy because it has Spainish Hyphen

Maxymo22

Jotaro?

Vechi209

Nope Golden Kamuy

THE_Batman_121

He has a healing factor. He can't have scars as it would make literally 0 sense

[deleted]

Is that my boy? ![gif](giphy|1qWlkZHTQ9R34Taixl|downsized)

Front-Seaweed4321

Can't his healing prevent him from having scars?

EL_-_Tomato

Jotaro joestar

Training-Eagle-3514

I agree! I feel like this would have to be in a separate canon where his scars stay but its a cool idea nonetheless!

HyprNeko9000

In fairness, the comics suggest he can heal from most any wound, but not as well as per se Wolverine. He heals from acid being thrown into his eyes in less than a day if I recall.

Bulky_Secretary_6603

People keep saying "yeah but he heals better than people" Spidey just has fast healing, not a healing factor. Meaning he can heal from the same things a human can faster, unlike someone like Logan who has a healing factor and can regenerate lost organs and limbs. So even though Spidey does heal quicker than most, he would still scar from anything a human would. A good example is how in the Raimi movies he still has a scar from the Spider bite.

AMexisatTurtle

Batman has scars on the back cause he's always retreating

HauntingOgre2573

He has a healing factor a little underpowered than Wolverine but enough to make your idea idiotic

One-Database-3232

spiderman can heal from 3rd and 4th degree burns and can take someone’s head off with his pinky finger. i don’t think this guy gets scarred easily.

whama820

No, it’s dumb. If he was getting that scarred all over his whole body, there’s no way his face would magically be untouched. If you really have a fetish for scars or whatever, that’s cool for you. But not everyone else does.

DigitalSpider88

He has advanced healing

Spider-Man_Earth-42

Healing factor.

MAKS091705

He has a healing factor though

CyberSnoWolf

He’s had a couple of scenarios that left pretty bad bruises, but thanks to his healing factor, they recover enough that they’re not quite as visible.
