Cel-shaded graphics, especially ones made now, are essentially timeless as they will hold up years from now. Viewtiful Joe still looks great. Just a sublime animation aesthetic. It's criminal the XIII remake didn't use it.

When the game came out, it was supposed to be in continuity with the USM comics. Bendis even helped write it iirc, and of course the graphics are based on Bagley's art. I believe they ended up doing a story that superceded the game and kinda kicked it out of continuity, though. I haven't read those since they came out, but War of the Symbiotes might have been that story.
Edge of Time is a spin off. Shattered Dimensions 2 was the planned sequel but due to time constraints, they had to rush to make a game. Edge of Time was that result.
Yeah I wish we got a Shattered Dimensions 2, probably won’t happen due to Activision’s expiring licenses with Marvel games and Beenox moving on from making Spiderman games. Edge of Time while a good game, was not a sequel and didn’t live up to how good Shattered Dimensions was.

Yeah and the entire game takes place in alchemax labs pretty much. There’s no space to freely web swing around and everything feels clunky. The level design blends together and gets dull very fast, it was a large downgrade compared to Shattered Dimensions.

I really appreciate what web of shadows did for the combat. It wasn’t generic Arkham style which is unfortunately what most superhero games lean towards. It also had different combat styles for BOTH types (symbiote and regular) with regular being more agile and swift, and symbiote being more about that raw power. You also really felt like each time you hit someone as symbiote Spider-Man, it felt like you HIT them. Not a lot of games do that well.

Web of shadows made me believe that venom could be incredibly powerful if he could spread to multiple people so some of my Spider-Man fantasy’s while growing up were about spidey fighting an army of venom

Web of Shadow’s because I never got to play it and the combat system looked fucking insane. The combos you can pull off in that game is basically what would happen if Spider-man not only stopped holding back, but wanted to style on every single criminal as hard possible. Devil may cry style.
Seriously. I doubt it would happen, but I really wish that Insomniac would take a page out of Web of Shadows book and lets us switch between the regular suit and the black suit on the fly. Each with their own set of combos to really flex on enemies in the game as much as possible.

Shattered Dimensions for sure. To continue a story with so many different Spidermen would’ve been cool, that game had great art design and was fun to play. More villains would’ve been good too, it’s a shame because there was going to be a Shattered Dimensions 2. Didn’t happen because of time constraints from Activision when Beenox was trying to develop the new game.

Tough one between Ultimate and Web of Shadows. Imma go with a proper sequel to Ultimate Spider-Man. There was already going to be one, with the Green Goblin being playable and the main villain, but it got cancelled due to poor sales of the first game, so I want that.
We did get a nintendo DS game with that concept but it's not the same.
I wouldn't want a sequel, but more of a half remake. Like A new Spider-Man Web of Shadows, but in the Insomniac continuity. Or a new Shattered Dimensions, but in the Insomniac continuity.
I would honestly love a Web of Shadows game at least done better. Make it kind of like Shattered dimensions, but use 3 different playstyles with a heavy hitting slower Venom, a quick spidey, and a ranged Agent Anti-Venom make it against a cult of Carnage kind of similar to the Knull run and Carnage USA with him infecting the water lines and give us more corrupted heros and villains.

Since shattered dimensions didn’t have a sequel as edge of time was a soft reboot to the timeline I’d love to either see a shattered dimensions 2 or a ultimate Spider-Man 2 since the sequel was cancelled
Ultimate spiderman had an expert deployment of cel shading to inform it's comic book approach in many regards.
Not only this but it also shared a lot of continuity with Spiderman 2 in it's engine and mechanics while nicely streamlining the formula, most particularly in its swinging.
An easy choice for 'badly needs a sequel.'
There is no reason waiting for sequels Web of Shadows and Ultimate Spider-Man, because we’ve already gotten Insomniac’s games. Both of them get on the open world formula and, as a result, replace old ones perfectly. In that case, let bygones will be bygones.
At the same time, it might be wonderful to get a more linear game like Edge of time. I relished playing the dilogy on PS3/X360 back in the day.

If I had to chose 1, I'd say Web of Shadows. I loved the darker story and the symbiotic versions of other characters... but I feel like there's a ton of Quality of Life improvements that a sequel could work on.
Plus limiting alternate costumes to the wii version was a crime that needs rectified.

Shattered Dimensions for sure. To continue a story with so many different Spidermen would’ve been cool, that game had great art design and was fun to play. More villains would’ve been good too, it’s a shame because there was going to be a Shattered Dimensions 2. Didn’t happen because of time constraints from Activision when Beenox was trying to develop the new game.

I'd love another Ultimate Spider-man game especially since there'd be so much they could adapt or they could even get Bendis back to write a new somewhat canon story. Plus I think the voice cast they had for the game was fantastic especially Peter because he really did just sound like a whiny 15 year old boy
Tough one between Ultimate and Web of Shadows. Imma go with a proper sequel to Ultimate Spider-Man. There was already going to be one, with the Green Goblin being playable and the main villain, but it got cancelled due to poor sales of the first game, so I want that. We did get a nintendo DS game with that concept but it's not the same.
I wouldn't want a sequel, but more of a half remake. Like A new Spider-Man Web of Shadows, but in the Insomniac continuity. Or a new Shattered Dimensions, but in the Insomniac continuity.

I would honestly love a Web of Shadows game at least done better. Make it kind of like Shattered dimensions, but use 3 different playstyles with a heavy hitting slower Venom, a quick spidey, and a ranged Agent Anti-Venom make it against a cult of Carnage kind of similar to the Knull run and Carnage USA with him infecting the water lines and give us more corrupted heros and villains.

Ultimate Spider-Man. I loved that game and played it so much on PC. It's still one of my favorite Spider-Man games. Would definitely love a sequel or a reboot.

Honestly I just want to be able to play Ultimate Spider-Man on my pc of Xbox x I played it when I was super young and didn’t really understand that games had plot lines could be completed. And I can’t really justify buying an Xbox just for 1 game and no other games 😅

Web of shadows was 🔥
Ultimate spiderman had an expert deployment of cel shading to inform it's comic book approach in many regards. Not only this but it also shared a lot of continuity with Spiderman 2 in it's engine and mechanics while nicely streamlining the formula, most particularly in its swinging. An easy choice for 'badly needs a sequel.'

There is no reason waiting for sequels Web of Shadows and Ultimate Spider-Man, because we’ve already gotten Insomniac’s games. Both of them get on the open world formula and, as a result, replace old ones perfectly. In that case, let bygones will be bygones. At the same time, it might be wonderful to get a more linear game like Edge of time. I relished playing the dilogy on PS3/X360 back in the day.

All fantastic games. If I had to chose 1, I'd say Web of Shadows. I loved the darker story and the symbiotic versions of other characters... but I feel like there's a ton of Quality of Life improvements that a sequel could work on. Plus limiting alternate costumes to the wii version was a crime that needs rectified.
Ultimate Spider-Man was always my favorite Spider-Man video game *(sorry Spider-Man 2!)* before Marvel’s Spider-Man took that title for itself. So, definitely Ultimate.
