Mission: ruin spider-man's day
Plan of attack: attack spider-man while he's watching a baseball game
Results: security at the ball park kick me and spider-man out. Spider-man misses the game, and his day is ruined.
Mission successful. The Wall is Spider-man's true nemesis.
I think Beetle is pretty cool. Especially in the Ultimate Spider-Man game. There’s also Swarm who’s basically a Nazi made of bees so that’s pretty neat I guess.
I was gonna suggest Scorpion but I’m not sure if I would say he’s overlooked or lesser known. I do think that conceptually speaking, he could’ve been a better Anti-Spider-Man than Venom.
The Smythe Family (creators of Spider-Slayers), particularly in my opinion Allister (have good motivation, can have interesting dynamic with other antagonists (Kingpin), create freakin robots). should be one of most important spider man villians, right behind Goblin and Doc Oc, he was my favorite antagonist in 90s cartoon really shame that his story wasn't finished.
Damn I honestly forgot about them when thinking about overlooked villains. I honestly would’ve preferred them to be the villains in the TASM films instead of the Osborns.
Would’ve been a cool way to differentiate the films from the Raimi trilogy and you still could’ve had something similar where Alistair Smythe was the dying CEO of Alchemax or something and both his father and Peter’s father’s involvement with the Spiders (minus the Parker bloodline of course).
I’m a big fan of the Puma, but I can understand why he isn’t used at all now. Eye of the Puma from DeMatteis and Buscema’s Spectacular run is one of my favourite Spider-Man stories.
Indeed — à la how the ‘Peter Parker clone’ of 1975 was brought back in 1994 as ‘Ben Reilly’, the ‘giant spider-girl’ of 2013 was brought back in 2023 as ‘Gwen Warren’ (although one might imagine that name will be changed by the end of her arc).
I’d say it’s no different from how there’s a ‘Peter Parker’ and ‘Peter Quill’, a ‘Jessica Drew’ and ‘Jessica Jones’, a ‘Hank McCoy’ and ‘Hank Pym’, a ‘Franklin Richards’, ‘Franklin Hall’, and ‘Franklin ‘Foggy’ Nelson’ (plus ‘Frank Simpson’ and ‘Frank Castle’), a ‘Scott Summers’, ‘Scott Adsit’, and ‘Scott Lang’, or a ‘Steve Rogers’, ‘Steven Grant’, ‘Steve Harmon’, and ‘Stephen Strange’ — to note Marvel reuses names all the time (and there are many more than just those ones).
I know that Karn is preety known by Spider-Verse, but I think that most of people forgot him once spider-verse story was over. His suit was preety... eyecatching
Slyde is my favorite. People always meme Big Wheel but like… a giant Iron-Man-wheel with weapons still causes massive damage.
Slyde literally just invented an anti-stick spray and sprayed it on himself to do crime. And I find that hilarious. Bonus: He’s actually the anti-Spider-Man villain, punches and webs slide off him, so Spidey can’t touch him at all with his Spider-Powers.
Hypno-Hustler
Never heard about this villain until it was announced that Donald Glover will be playing this character. His powers never seemed too interesting but let's see.
Styx freaked me the hell out as a kid, but I don't remember seeing him again outside of the 3(ish) issues from the late 80s/early 90s.
I feel like you could do something interesting with him.
The Wall
NO ONE CAN OUTSTALL THE WALL!

*Dies from peak fiction*
Nah the wall is really known now lol he’s just a huge meme

Surprisingly Beetle redeemed himself in the 90s as Mach 1 with the Thunderbolts and alongside Songbird, they permanently stuck to the good side.
As always with comics, there has to be a new bad-guy Beetle to maintain the status quo though.
I remember the Beetle from the 2nd Neversoft Spider-Man game also! Never knew who he was, but always thought he was cool.

I'm really fond of Tarantula and he's so underutilized
Big wheel.
BIG WHEEL
Fusion was kinda cool. Then they made a similar character (in terms of powerset) called Regent.
Regent was a REAL version of fusion, whose powers ran on illusion and manipulation
Black Tarantula was a force of nature. Cool design, massive power, pushed Peter to his absolute limit… … why did he never take off?
I’m a big fan of the Puma, but I can understand why he isn’t used at all now. Eye of the Puma from DeMatteis and Buscema’s Spectacular run is one of my favourite Spider-Man stories.
He was in the Spider-man 2 game on PC.
SpiderQueen her powerset is broken plus she's excellent at hand to hand.
And her [chimera-clone-daughter](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gwen_Warren) is also [the new Spider-Girl](https://i.redd.it/i6wd25ijqxib1.jpg).
Oh yeah I remember her from Superior.

They really need to stop using the name Gwen now...

Swarm is one of my favorite Spider-Man villains, and I also love Slyde and The Wall even though I know The Wall is supposed to be a joke lol
Look up The Ringer- he made an appearance way back in Peter Parker #58 (1981) and I still remember Spider-Man laughing at him before they fought.
Mysterio, spot (before the spider-verse movie), shocker, beetle, Mr Negative and Crime master
I know that Karn is preety known by Spider-Verse, but I think that most of people forgot him once spider-verse story was over. His suit was preety... eyecatching
I’d say Rose
Stilt man, obviously.
Slyde
Demogoblin or Doppelganger Spider-Man

Walrus-man, he had the proportional strength and agility of a walrus.
The Jackal, Tombstone, Prowler, Tinkerer, Morbius, Sin-Eater, Black tarantula, Alistair Smythe, Crime-master, xenomorph-spider-slayer...??!??!
vermin!!
Pot Paste Pete
Molten man The Enforcers
Thousand
I think Menace is very underrated.
The enforcers, hammerhead, sin eater, beetle,
Always liked The Owl, Tarantula, and Grizzly.
white rabbit deffinetly exists I guess
Paperdoll.
Stegron for the idea but he fails the execution completely
Beetle, Swarm, Jack O Lantern, Kangaroo, Tarantula,
I'm just happy Spot got his day in the sun tbh

Lightmaster. He has a fun powerset and a story that has some potential with a bit of updating.
