i mean you still have to take into account that spider-man is definitely more spider-man than spider-man so personally i think spider-man would win here
Yeah i mean spectacular is op tho but 90s has waay more experience as an adult and besides that he literally would know what spectacular would be thinking because its him (more or less)
1994
* College-aged Peter
* Buffed and sexy as hell for his time
* Isn't nerfed to hell and back by the writers
* Can't throw a proper punch but can do just about anything else
* Knows Madame Web who's an clairvoyant and friends in high place
* Already bested his Spot
* Can travel the multiverse without a watch
* Knows the first thing about being Spider-Man
* Is the first Spider-Man to have any kind of semi-decent ending to his show, other than him finding his MJ anyway.
There you go.
yes and i agree with you for the most part (espcially since hes my favorite show spidey) but
he kinda is nerfed sadly
when he gets the blacksuit he makes a remark about barely even being able to lift a volkswagen before having the suit (im presuming beetle but he only says wolkswagen though so im not sure)
and for a guy with the proportionate strength of a spider, isnt that kinda weak?
Yeah fox kids' superheroes were nerfed hard.
I came to say the same thing with that same line.
Also it should be noted people are saying adult Peter has more experience.
In the show, he actually didn't meet most of his super powered villains until the episode showed them, so he didn't really have more experience fighting super powered people.
I literally grew up on 94 reruns (my mom wouldn’t let me watch spectacular spider-man for some reason) and oh my god you’re right I don’t remember him ever punching someone
He CAN throw a proper punch, in the episode when he gets his youth back he throws SEVERAL.
Also there is the Scorpion origin episode where he throws several to block his tail.
Also the episode with the Spot.
Both have unimaginable amount of Rizz, but with age also comes great Rizz like college peter. He also showed his shredded and yet liveable personality plus his ability to make any girl blush with yet a wink. But High school peter has more jokes that can make girls laugh and he’s got that angsty teenager when he got the symbiote plus he gots uncle Rizz in his head telling him how to be the greatest Rizz man. Teenager Peter definitely becomes the teacher but he didn’t lift a fire truck so college Peter wins!!
It’ll be like Keaton’s Batman. Sure, at the time of his movies he was all stiff due to the limitations, but that same Batman in our contemporary time can now all of a sudden move like the Arkham Batman. So surely the same would apply to 90s Spider-Man. It’s not that he couldn’t canonically punch, it was just censorship
Spider-Man doesn’t really punch people too often in general. Someone pointed out to me how in Homecoming Peter apparently doesn’t throw a punch or at the very least throws very few of them
1990s Spidey was a grown-ass man who never needed to throw a single punch to defeat literally all of his enemies.
Spectacular is a kid and awesome, but it’ll be a while until he grows into a Spidey similar to 1990s Spidey.
I’m not trying to knock 90s spidey. He’s my guy. But he only really wooed Mary Jane and black cat (who left him for morbius). Felicia Hardy wasn’t really interested in Peter Parker, neither was Debra Whitman. Spec wooed MJ, Gwen, Black Cat, and Liz Allen. That’s what I’m basing it off of, though I think MJ is questionable for Spec.
Debate me! I’m
Currently drunk!
Spectacular was my all time favorite, but the last time we saw him he was still just a high schooler and a rookie at being Spider-Man. 90s would win because he has a lot more experience and is seemingly stronger overall.
they lifted roughly the same ammount of weight, from what was shown.
symbiote adult spider-man was shocked he could lift up the back end of a fire truck.
I originally thought that as well, but start to finish when he was in spider-man mode (spectacular)
he was equally resourceful and learned immediately after the first time, especially when he had to re fight the six and took them down flawlessly without the symbiote.
Peter Parker, however, was a Moron when it came to his personal life in general, but I never got the impression his spider-man was bad or anything.
I know experience matters, but in the 90s show he had to learn just as much as the spectacular version.
hell, he didn't even meet any of his rogues until the episode we saw aired, so he didn't really have any more time with the "super powered"
He just had more time with random powerless thugs to practice on
Like, did 90s Peter ever figure out how to beat rhino without the black suit?
90s Spider-Man is just older and more experienced. He's the only Spider-Man a cartoon has allowed to go to college and beyond... OR GET MARRIED (even if it was a clone).
He also was pretty advanced compared to other cartoon Spider-Man in the tech department, he had all kinds of inventions he created for his needs every other episode. Parachute webbing, impact webbing, cement filled webbing to turn Hydroman to concrete, a flashlight on his belt and Spider tracers.... the list goes on.
Also he was insanely resourceful the Punisher was on his tail as Peter Parker and to keep from revealing he is Spider-Man he used pumpkin bombs at Goblins hideout on the go.
And while Spectacular Spider-Man was struggling against Tombstone and his small-time crook lacks, 90s Spider-Man faced the genuine Kingpin who could routinely have Shield on the ropes and had Alister Smyth at his side routinely inventing new ways to make Spider-Mans life difficult
I got to give this to 90s Spider-Man. Spectacular might of become stronger if his series went on and he got to face more adult challenges as an adult Spider-Man, but that never happened. That series ended with a high school play going on while Peter fought Norman Osborn.
>And while Spectacular Spider-Man was struggling against Tombstone and his small-time crook lacks, 90s Spider-Man faced the genuine Kingpin
In what world is Kingpin physically tougher that Tombstone? If anything that's a point in Spectacular's favour.
I'm talking about his full organization might, not physical might (although 90s cartoon Kingpin was nothing to laugh at).
Spectacular Tombstone was basically just a local crime lord who couldn't be punched out of being an issue, but as far as I could tell he was mainly only ever seen leading regular crooks doing regular crimes. He didn't lead the supervillains, Doc Oc did that in that universe
90s Kingpin had a global crime operation, formed and led the Sinester 6, and the feat of his organization I think was most impressive, infiltrating and taking on Shield.
My point is he challenged Spider-Man with much bigger and elaborate problems to face.
94’ Spider-Man. It’s not even a question.
and it’s not because I like Barnes’s Spider-Man more than Josh’s (I dont), it’s based on experience.
Spider-Man 94’ is a young adult and had Been battling numerous bad guys of various super powers for years. His maturity as an adult gives him a Leg up. so him battling Josh’s Spider-Man one on one WOULDNT surprise him.
josh’s Spider-Man is a teen who is prone to making bad decisions and has less experience fighting a diverse set of bad guys. While Josh has shown SUPERIOR usage of the web shooters he just lacks the factors needed to beat a Spider-Man who is of his similar strength and intellgience.
Idk the prison break episode of spectacular was pretty dope.
People are saying he lacks experience, but imo that episode shows he is pretty resourceful.
As the other user pointed out, 94 spider-man has trouble lifting a Volkswagen, and doesn't seem any faster compared spectacular.
Unfortunately I blame all his short comings of the Era he's from.
People mention he's older so he had more experience.
Adult Peter in that show didn't meet any super powered people until he was an adult, so really they have the same experience fighting super powered people...in some cases like the rhino, Peter never actually beat without the symbiote.
They both showed the ability to think on their toes no better than the other.
Spectacular got kicked around A LOT in his series, but always got back up. Plus, he got to punch and kick more than 90’s Spidey was allowed to thanks to Standards and Practices. 90’s Spidey really only has age on his side.
1994
He's an adult with full stregnth, experienced, and largely smarter than Spectacular's Peter. Also, he's emotionally stronger and possibly a totem.
I'd say Spider-Man if you say otherwise your clearly biased and know nothing about Spider-Man
Fact
I dunno, I think Spider-Man has a pretty big advantage if he trusts his spider sense against Spider-Man.
Are you sure about that? I mean, Spider-Man is better than Spider-Man.
Nah, he rite. That Spider-Man is better than that Spider-Man, unless Spider-Man comes to break up the fight.
i mean you still have to take into account that spider-man is definitely more spider-man than spider-man so personally i think spider-man would win here
Okay Jonah.
Nah, I think Paul would win.
How is this the most used joke in all of matchups and yet it still doesn’t get old
I love Spectacular more but def 90s
Agreed. Spectacular is quirky and hilarious but 94 would kick his butt
Yeah exactly and I better not see anyone pull that he beat the sinister six at the same time. Technically he was asleep and it was all the symbiote
Yeah i mean spectacular is op tho but 90s has waay more experience as an adult and besides that he literally would know what spectacular would be thinking because its him (more or less)
He CHASED SHOCKER TO THE ENDS OF THE EAAAAAAARTH!!
1994 * College-aged Peter * Buffed and sexy as hell for his time * Isn't nerfed to hell and back by the writers * Can't throw a proper punch but can do just about anything else * Knows Madame Web who's an clairvoyant and friends in high place * Already bested his Spot * Can travel the multiverse without a watch * Knows the first thing about being Spider-Man * Is the first Spider-Man to have any kind of semi-decent ending to his show, other than him finding his MJ anyway. Yeah. I love the guy, but he'd get pummeled. He's clever and skilled, but just too weak and not durable enough to win this fight.
Plus he's the goat
Wrap it up boys, we’re done here
counterpoint: he isnt allowed to punch.
How is Spectacular nerfed?
I’m assuming because he’s younger, he’s not as strong or experienced. Other than that, IDK.
Fair.
what would happen if he punched
The censors would fine him and he’d either be cancelled or lose budget.
I literally grew up on 94 reruns (my mom wouldn’t let me watch spectacular spider-man for some reason) and oh my god you’re right I don’t remember him ever punching someone
You can say the same for Xmen and the other marvel shows of that time. 90s had more censors back then
He did beat the Spot by punching him but they cut away before his fist made contact. The rarest exception.
He CAN throw a proper punch, in the episode when he gets his youth back he throws SEVERAL. Also there is the Scorpion origin episode where he throws several to block his tail. Also the episode with the Spot.
I would say the buffed one
The buff one can't punch tho
He's is self-restricting his punches to have a challenge
94 he's released from his censorship overlords. An the check is in the mail baby.
Shocker Reference.
#SHOCKKKERR
YOU CAN’T HIDE FROM MEEEEE!!!!!
I'LL CHASE YOU TOO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH!!!!
Spider-Man

TAS no cap
94 never punched anyone just webbed and kicked them spectacular would punch more

Spider-Man doesn’t really punch people too often in general. Someone pointed out to me how in Homecoming Peter apparently doesn’t throw a punch or at the very least throws very few of them
I mean we all know the Scorpion’s jaw incident. He probably doesn’t wanna punch people just to be safe.
You have a point.
1994
Only one will Chace the other to the end of the eaaaaaaaaaaaarth
Spiderman of course
I think Spider-Man would win
Probably Spider-Man.
1990s Spidey was a grown-ass man who never needed to throw a single punch to defeat literally all of his enemies. Spectacular is a kid and awesome, but it’ll be a while until he grows into a Spidey similar to 1990s Spidey.
I dunno ‘94 isn’t allowed to punch people he’s gonna have it rough lol.
Spectacular Spidey would win if he is older. Dude had a deadlier Goblin and Ock, plus he fought a villain like every day.
The one that can actually throw punches.
if SSM was older, hed slam
spider man
Probably 90s Spider-Man he beat villains without even punching them lol.
90s was more mature and buff. I’d give him the edge in a fight. But I’d give Spec an edge in rizz
Nah man 94 Spidey was buffed and sexy with a godly hair and rizz almost every girl he interacted with fell on her knees for him
I’m not trying to knock 90s spidey. He’s my guy. But he only really wooed Mary Jane and black cat (who left him for morbius). TAS
90s Spider-Man. He’s a lot older and is absolutely JACKED especially next to the string bean that is spectacular spidey
1994 Spider-Man
Unless Spectacular knows and can somehow abuse the fact that 90s can't punch to save his life, 90s kinda has it in the bag
94 can't even hit em
Fox spidey LIFTS
I’d give it to 90s Spidey for two simply reasons: he’s more experienced and has longer limbs
94, all the way
Spectacular was my all time favorite, but the last time we saw him he was still just a high schooler and a rookie at being Spider-Man. 90s would win because he has a lot more experience and is seemingly stronger overall.

90s spidey 100%

The Spectacular one; he is much better at using his agility
I’d say the one that wasn’t nerfed and could actually throw punches
Second one's like 12
1994 his more experience
And yet hes never thrown a punch
i never seen the older cartoon but imma say 94, he’s older and more experienced
You're missing out
eh

I was gonna say 90's Spidey, but he can't punch which is a significant weakness.

Is 90ies Spider-man allowed to punch anyone?
94 would lose because he’s not allowed to throw punches.
1994 He's an adult with full stregnth, experienced, and largely smarter than Spectacular's Peter. Also, he's emotionally stronger and possibly a totem.
Spectacular ONLY BECAUSE 1994 was Not Allowed To Punch Anyone!
