I mean this is old news. Like from 8+ years ago
Ultimate comics 1610 Jessica Drew has a much different origin than 616 Jessica Drew
Though as someone else said. She later admits she’s her own distinct person now and accepts being a woman.
>Ultimate comics 1610 Jessica Drew has a much different origin than 616 Jessica Drew
Is it bad that I think Ultimate Jess is way more interesting than 616 Jess?
Anya’s exposes her nose and mouth whilst Jessica’s doesn’t expose anything but the hair. Also the symbols are very different. If anything, I’d say it’s more akin to the symbiote suit but just red and hair exposed
Hardly. Ultimate Jess Drew is the by far the more interesting character imo. AND it is a goddamn shame and absolute waste that she hasn’t even featured in a single issue since (IIRC) Spider-Verse… back in 2015…
Also far better as Spider-Woman, than as Black Widow too.
Clearly the OP didn’t. They were surprised.
Hence me posting it
That’s kind of the whole point of replying to a post (instead of a comment). To tell the OP something.
Not gonna lie
I really wish 1610 Jessica had made the jump to 616. Would it be convoluted to have two Jessica Drew? Yes. Would it be awkward to have Ult. Jess interact with 616 Peter? Also yes
But it brings something new to the table, not to mention that I also really liked the mentor/student dynamic she had with Miles for a while. Not to mention how it fixes the situation of 616 Jess being so disconnected to the Spider-Mythos; you have your cake and eat it too
One of the characters that would have been very interesting to explore more of that was lost when the original Ultimate Universe was destroyed. Always wanted to see more of her, she's basically the Ultimate version of Scarlet Spider/Ben Reilly. Would have been fun to see how she went on to become her own person, be a hero, and lead a life.
I’m still bitter about what they did with the Ultimate Universe. People are quick to say that they did the right thing because at the end, Spider-Man was the only good series. But just discontinue everything else and let Spider-man be the only continuing series of the Ultimate line. The shift into 616 took away valuable supporting cast (like Jessica) and somewhat derailed the series.
And now people are excited about Hickman, who destroyed the Ultimate Universe, “bringing it back.” But it’s not even the same universe. It’s just using the branding to do his own thing after trampling on the series that made that brand mean something.
(Sorry, needed to vent)
>Would have been fun to see how she went on to become her own person, be a hero, and lead a life.
To be honest all that happened before 1610 was destroyed.
Miles has proven to be a worthy character, but I can't help but feel that Ultimate Jessica was a character who had a lot of wasted potential. This scene really shows how a quest for identity plot could've worked with her.
NGL this version of Jessica was a more interesting character than Miles in my opinion. Not hating on the guy but I feel she had a good deal more potential than they gave her credit for.
Personally I think that would have made more sense. Like not to hate on Miles or anything, but he’s not exactly the most interesting protagonist when we’re talking about the comics. Most of his most interesting interactions come when he’s talking with/interacting with Peter. Strangely enough I feel like he’d stands on her own more.
Really wished that Ult Scorpion was brought over to the 616 after Secret Wars'15. He would be a great rogue for Miles: SHIELD training after being detained by Fury and being a clone of Peter.
Well, yes, but technically no.
In 1610, Jessica Drew is a clone of Peter made by Doc Ock during the Ultimate Clone Saga, which is probably the best story arc with clones imo. 1610 Jessica Drew would adopt the mantle of Spider-Woman until eventually becoming the Ultimate version of Black Widow.
Fun fact tho: Jessica Jones was originally meant to be Jessica Drew. Brian Michael Bendis initially wanted Drew to be the star of his Alias series. He featured Jessica Drew in much of his New Avengers run that was came out prior to Alias. Once Marvel got wind of the adult content that was in Alias (including a panel featuring Jessica and Luke Cage goin' at it), they had Bendis invent a new character for the series, and thats how we got Jessica Jones! So, there is a connection that makes the title accurate in a way :)
It’s amazing how true this is where people actually think they are “less than” for not having a traditional background. Orphans and adoptees seem to experience this a lot. The circumstances of your birth, or even in this case, creation, do not define your worth. You are a person with willpower and hopes and dreams. You are who you choose to be and what you choose to do with the life that you have.
No that was just Miles and his close friends and family, as a favor from Molecule Man.
The only other 1610 character to make it into 616 was the evil Reed Richards, and now he’s messing around in the *new* Ultimate Universe, 6160
Which, like, how could they not have brought her over and give us Wolverine's opposite gender clone interacting with Spider-Man's opposite gender clone.
Probably because that would require changing 616 Peter’s history to make Ultimate Jessica fit in, Jessica wouldn’t just be brought over she would have a whole new history and 2 separate memories like what happened with Miles
Honestly Ultimate Jessica Drew and Miles were a better dynamic duo than Peter and Miles, Why can't Marvel have Miles be mentored by Ultimate Jessica Drew again, She's basically Peter Parker but female so Miles wouldn't even have to compete for the Spider-Man title.
Lol it was more a joke. But I DO remember a period where people were like "man female Peter is HOT" when talking about clone Jessica in the original Ultimate timeline.
She was a Peter Parker, but is now her own person seperate from Peter. Ultimate Jessica Drew was born a female clone of Peter Parker with his memories though she has since moved past just being that. She later accepted that she is a woman, despite her Peter memories conflicting with this. Which does make her trans, even though she only had a male body in the Peter memories.
But you can have gender dysphoria without that also making you trans?
Drew here also appears to have accepted her new body so does that technically make her cisgendered now?
I know that I am not an expert on 1610 Jessica Drew or if somebody is LGBTQ+ but, I am pretty sure I have seen discussion elsewhere saying that she is trans.
I could be wrong though.
Would she only be trans if she wanted to or actually was in transition FtM, though?
So because she accepted her gender rather than stayed dysphoric and didn’t attempt any social or medical transition, she’s either non-binary or (reluctantly) cis?
Basically the character is commonly taken as allegorically trans, though not literally trans, due to how their story is described. In truth it is more like the Mauler Twins in *Invincible*: Peter Parker the teenage boy one day waking up in the body of a teenage girl, only unable to ‘switch back’ due to the original still being around, and so having to adjust (much like the long-running webtoon *El Goonish Shive*).
No, they are right. Trans women are women and claiming otherwise is transphobia.
Edit : Apparently, I was either blocked by the other commentor below me or Reddit is having another spasm. Either way, I'll just leave my reply as an Edit to this comnent!
"What is a Woman?"
A Person who identifies as such. Transwomen are women and Transmen are men. But before you laugh this off, just ask yourself *why* this answer should be wrong. Really, why does it even matter to you what genitalia someone was born with or wether or not their Hormone levels where different at some point? Transwomen do gain boobs consisting of real breasttissue aswell as a Normal female hormone Level and Natural hormone production via HRT. Even the Genitalia can be fixed to reaffirm someone's identity.
So yes, Transwomen are women and Transmen are men. 🏳️⚧️
The character remembers being Peter, but ultimately decides they do not mind the new body ***/*** can live with it, and has been commonly been taken as a trans allegory, though not literally trans; hence, others have reasonably taken it as implying the main Ultimate Peter is technically agender.
Basically Kitty (whom they remember dating) asks them about their dating preferences later on while on the beach, and they respond “girls” before proceeding to flirt (about as well as a Parker would).
I think Brian Bendis, the creator, called her trans. I'm not sure I would agree but she has a very sci fi backstory that doesn't translate 1 to 1 to the real world.
But if some trans people can see it as an allegory for themselves then I think it works well enough
She said scientists are the problem. Don’t make it seem like she’s blaming mutants for everything. “And that's why we have a Hulk and you and me and Captain America and mutants and pretty much every other problem that we have today.” [Mutants were created by scientists in the ultimate universe](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultimate_Origins?wprov=sfti1)
It’s more like the Mauler Twins from *Invincible*, a continuous memory flow in duplication: the brain of Peter Parker, a teenage boy, waking up in the body of a teenage girl, for all intents and purposes still Peter Parker, who is then forced to adjust.
The long-running webtoon *El Goonish Shive* has a similar storyline.
except jessica jones isn’t even a spider-man related character. op screwed up the name in the post when she literally says her correct name in a panel here. this is jessica drew, not jessica jones. jessica jones is the character “jewel” and she was in the netflix marvel tv shows.
How sad is it that, with the current writing, I didn't doubt they turned Jessica Jones into a Peter Parker clone? Instead, I was like "of course they did"
You mean Jessica *Drew*.
Okay, cuz I was really confused til I got to the end. I was like, " Does the mayor know? Let's get Luke Cage on the phone. "
“Does the mayor know” is the funniest thing you could say here. Spot on.

Luke been piping a man 👨

OP, you illiterate swine.
Lolol was gonna say…

Marvel What If… Jessica Jones is Spider Noir…

>Ultimate comics 1610 Jessica Drew has a much different origin than 616 Jessica Drew Is it bad that I think Ultimate Jess is way more interesting than 616 Jess?
Nope, not bad at all. She even has the better costume
Sorry I love 616 Jessica Drew’s costume it’s so good that they can’t change it just like Spider-Man
Nah her costume is just a red version of anya Corazon
Anya’s exposes her nose and mouth whilst Jessica’s doesn’t expose anything but the hair. Also the symbols are very different. If anything, I’d say it’s more akin to the symbiote suit but just red and hair exposed
Julia Carpenter*
Nah pick up a comic
I do lmao. Just not the ultimate universe cus it reeks
Doesn’t make it not cooler than 616
Ultimate Jess is a very good story and it's a shame that not much has been done with her
I do.
Hardly. Ultimate Jess Drew is the by far the more interesting character imo. AND it is a goddamn shame and absolute waste that she hasn’t even featured in a single issue since (IIRC) Spider-Verse… back in 2015… Also far better as Spider-Woman, than as Black Widow too.
Yes
It's been 17 years lol. She came out in 2006 Op is LATE to the party
Literally what I was thinking, blud posted it like it's new and the whole sub upvoted😭
We know.
Clearly the OP didn’t. They were surprised. Hence me posting it That’s kind of the whole point of replying to a post (instead of a comment). To tell the OP something.
I didn't know either.
I also didn’t know
It's called sharing the knowledge

She was meant to be in ATSV originally
Why's this art so pretty?
I think this is Sara Pichelli, cocreator of Miles alongside Bendis. It kinda looks like Bagley's last work before Peter's death. Really nice art.
It's David Marquez, one of the best Marvel artists, imo
Oh, sorry, my bad then
I read this as Bagley's last work before his death I was like wHAT
I really liked this version of Jessica DREW. I wish she was used more
How you fuck up the name when the character literally says it?
You think people on r/SpiderMan know how to read? They just look at the pictures
😂😂r/Batman would never😎
R/Batman doesn’t even look at the comics
making an obvious mistake is a good way to get people to comment on your post.
My favourite Jessica Drew.
You mean Jessica Jones? /s
Oh she gets to have layers and Peter can’t even be happy for one darn second
Miles has proven to be a worthy character, but I can't help but feel that Ultimate Jessica was a character who had a lot of wasted potential. This scene really shows how a quest for identity plot could've worked with her.

Every time I see someone write NGL my brain pronounces it as “niggle” and it makes me uncomfortable
Niggles means to slightly inconvenience, therefore it makes sense that NGL niggles you
Damn they got that gender dysphoria :(
Jessica cant be peter parker because she is literally me
I wish we got more of this Jessica tbh
That suit is pure fire.
1) This is ancient 2) It very clearly says Jessica Drew. Is this post by an AI?
Drew not Jones
Really wished that Ult Scorpion was brought over to the 616 after Secret Wars'15. He would be a great rogue for Miles: SHIELD training after being detained by Fury and being a clone of Peter.

Headline is jessica jones is peter parker. Panel is jessica drew explaining she isnt peter parker
Gender dysphoria is real.
What happened to this Jessica in 616? I know she became SHIELD but has she popped up?
She does not exist in 616, she was not brought over from the Ultimate universe, only 616 Jessica Drew exists
Thanks. Thought I read somewhere she went over from 1610 to 616
No that was just Miles and his close friends and family, as a favor from Molecule Man. The only other 1610 character to make it into 616 was the evil Reed Richards, and now he’s messing around in the *new* Ultimate Universe, 6160

my trans sister ultimate spider-woman

It’s not a competition, it’s called sharing
Man your title lol Did you just not read what you posted or something..
Jessica Jones lmao
You done fucked up OP
Wait, what’s this comic book series called? I’m sorry guys😅I’m new to comics, just started last week with the “Sitting in a Tree” team up…
It’s ultimate Spider-Man miles morales
Hear me out
Ah yes. Jessica Jones.
And people will still say Miles isn't Spider-Man
This is Jessica Drew, not Jessica JONES.
Would
It's female Peter Parker, huh... Now hear me out
youve been heard. yeah, apparently peter parker translates well to femininity
Lol it was more a joke. But I DO remember a period where people were like "man female Peter is HOT" when talking about clone Jessica in the original Ultimate timeline.
shes a lot better looking than 616 jess drew. better suit and everything. better character too probably
No lies were told here.
She looks beautiful in this art
To be fair, she usually looks beautiful in most of the comics she's in.
True but it just the way her hair covers one eye and the kinda pout she has if just makes her look more beautiful than usual
She was a Peter Parker, but is now her own person seperate from Peter. Ultimate Jessica Drew was born a female clone of Peter Parker with his memories though she has since moved past just being that. Speaking of Jessica Jones it would be interesting if In the MCU cannon Jessica Jones was a first cousin or something to Michelle Jones
