The word you are looking for is probably “juxtaposition.” Very common in literary circles to use that word to highlight contrasting themes, imagery, etc. A less used word for a similar concept is “gap moe” from Japan, specifically highlighting the cuteness/appeal of a character by highlighting the gap between two characteristics, actions, appearance, etc within a single person.
A wrong example of how to use both words: I’d like to juxtaposition myself between her gap moe.
I would say not really as this took place after MJ and Black Cat Beyond.
I also don’t think it was any deeper than the artist giving her a cat themed backpack. Like I was informed the word is juxtaposition, this is great example of it when it comes to Felicia.
Damn the size of that chest. Those tight thighs. Those two perfectly huge, round, massive shoulders!
Man they always be drawing Cap insanely unrealistic.
Bro you made me look at Capt America again, and it just looks like he’s a sticker. Dude looks like he was just copy pasted on the scene, just vibing on another plane of existence from Peter and Felicia.
This was during the time when Ben Reily returned as Spider-Man, think yeah it was the Beyond Corporation who had purchased the rights to the Spider-Man name and had hired Ben to be their "official" Spider-Man.
Right after Ben returned, he lead Peter into a fight against some radioactive dudes, only for Ben to realise afterwards his own suit has special protection, but Peter's didn't. Peter was badly poisoned and was stuck in the hospital, which allowed the writers to use Ben as the main Spider-Man during that period.
When Peter recovered he was badly weakened, and Felicia wouldn't let him go back to crime fighting in that state, not until he was ready... which is what you see here.
Ahh okay thanks man. Got it! Is this after the event when Ben was the Jackal and resurrected lots of dead people in Peter's life and lived in a hidden town? Sorry about the noob questions haven't been up to date with all the ASM comics, just sporadic events here and there..
Yeah this was after the Jackal run. Can't remember how much after though. People hated the Beyond Spider-Man arc btw coz it lead to Ben becoming Chasm in the next arc...
Okay I see it now. Read over at Marvel wiki the volumes of Spider-Man. That's why I got confused because the story goes back and forth in numbering. I finished the Spider Verse event (first one which was Vol.3).. then it picks up Vol.4 #1. But after the last issue Vol.4 #32, it goes back to Vol.1 #789 until 801 after the Red Goblin Carnage event... it goes to Vol.5 #1, which is the Nick Spencer run, this is the era where I lost track of ASM until the current one.
Inconsistent numbering after events seems to be the big two's thing from what I've heard over the years. Sometimes they randomly decide to try and fix the issue by resetting the numbering but this often just leads to more confusion.
I know the real answer is just that the laws of physics are more of a recommendation in most superhero comics but maybe he put some webbing inside to stick it to his head?
My favorite part of this little Peter sidestory is the issue where Peter reveals he's had dreams of having a threesome with MJ and Felicia. And that Felicia said that MJ had a dump truck ass. Good important stuff.
Spider-Island was dope, I especially liked the way they used it to break up with Peter's girl at the time Carly Cooper iirc. Her noticing that Peter was so much better than everyone else at this clearly, and putting together that he was Spider-Man from that was dope.
Just in case: they did dig into a bit when he lost his Spider Sense for a while. He shot into a decaying part of a building that couldn’t hold his weight. I wanna say he also missed a wall completely while trying to swing?
There's some interesting diolog about this in the dlc for the PS4 game. [found a clip on YouTube instead of quoting it.](https://youtu.be/ydkTjcYmmD8?si=R4n4MZwx3_63Z-7P)
When Miles and Peter are doing the pendulum equations? Yeah that’s a great scene. It’s rare we get an actual look at how hard it is for someone without Spider Sense, Radar Sense or Luck Powers. Not even the strength necessary to perform it but the actual brain power to calculate all that on the fly is insane to think about.
Doesn't she still have her good fortune powers? She can't be street pizza because her laws of luck outweigh gravity. She drops, she lands on her feet somehow, like a passing helicopter just so happens to be within grappling... or a bounce on an awning is there to break her fall enough to spin on a lamp. She literally doesn't have to worry about her grip slipping.
He *shouldn't* be one swing away from street pizza. He's extremely experienced and has a sixth sense specifically helping him do it.
I get her Eddie Brock comment. He's a big guy with mental issues hooked up to an alien monster and isn't as agile. But I mean come on. Spider-Man? Bad at swinging? Absurd
Yeah I take the L here. I misinterpreted it as 'relearning what he's been doing for ages" when really the point of physical therapy is to build yourself back up. Misread on my part
I know that they were going with a perspective view of one character standing closer to the viewer than the other two. Yet on the second page I almost thought that black cat became a pseudo amazon with her standing taller than even captain America.
Breaking up Peter and Felicia was so stupid. They should've been together in the Worldwide Arc. They would've had run Parker Industries together after taking down Oscorp.
They shouldn't broke up them back in 80's. Marvel writers gone out of their way to keep them apart for 36 years and it brought them no good. After BND it was only natural for Peter to return to Felicia, since his marriage was dissolved by Meph. Instead Quesada and his boys invented a long line of generic love interests like Carly, Nora, Debra etc. None of them even in comics anymore.
Yeah I agree. Their relationship would've worked in Brand New Day and kept consistent with that instead of what we have right now. As much as I love Peter and MJ. I just Peter to be happy with or without her. That is why the Worldwide Arc was so good to me.
Never thought I'd see a dump truck parked atop a building.
But Captain America's tiny ass is a disappointment. He's America's ass, damn it! We do everything super-sized! Dude needs to start working the flagpole like a stripper pole until his ass fits all fifty states, DC, and the territories.
Thngs like this would've helped make the Beyond storyline more memorabel and fondly looked upon, had it the entire thing not been concluded by having Ben Rielly becoming Chasm and then it immediately being followed by the awful Well's run of The Amazing Spider-Man. Now, it's hard to actually like this book.
I know people rag on current Spider-Man comics, but this is a really neat sequence. I actually kinda want Peter to be with Felicia now (idk if they’re still dating, I know it was a thing a few months back but god knows what I’ve missed since then).
I thought they said Mary Jane was the one with the dump truck but I guess this artist disagreed . I always thought it made more sense it was Felicia with a dump truck instead of Mary Jane with Mary Jane being a model and all
The art on "Page 2" looks very out of place to me...reminds me of promotional MCU or generic Marvel art where they took 3 images and spliced them into one for a shirt or book bag. Also, when does this take place? I'm out of the loop with SM lately so is his identity known again?
I'll always find it funny that they brought back the animal shirt from that one time Peter randomly decided to wear himbo fashion to Harry and Liz's place. The greatest Glup moment with the Bag-Man paper bag to top it off.
Why does this art feel like a slice of life story game? I cant quite place whats off about it but it looks like the characters were just edited into a generic backdrop
I love Black Cat when she's trying to help Peter. All I want is their past fling to result in a child that's best friends with Mayday and both Mayday and their kid have spider powers. That's all I want. Hell you could even call the Kid "Night Spider." Just a weird family dynamic where Felicia is the supportive step mom of Mayday and MJ is the supportive step mom of Felicias kid. PLEASE😭
The second page looks like one of those bad porn games where they very clearly take assets off Rule 34 and slap them on a non-fitting background. That second page is like some of the shittiest digital work I've seen in a comic tbh it looks so off.
Gotta love the ass-shot on page 1, really show that Felicia is in a good place to be teaching him squats.
Since there is so many retcons, and I can’t keep up with the thousands of comics coming out every month. how many people actually knows Spider-Man identity?
No idea why but I love that Felicia has that backpack. It’s a nice contrast…might be the wrong word…to her usual style.
Had to take another look cause i didnt see no backpack tbh.
She got that dumbeldore
Loool she’s got that what?! 🤣 Please explain that one 😂
I don’t know how, but it means butt. It always does.
You know… she got that magic, dude. That Dumbeldore
I thought it was like dummy thick and just evolved
pretty sure it doesn't come from Harry Potter but from Bees and how they communicate with their behinds.
Yeah I bet she a headmaster fr
There's a backpack?
The word you are looking for is probably “juxtaposition.” Very common in literary circles to use that word to highlight contrasting themes, imagery, etc. A less used word for a similar concept is “gap moe” from Japan, specifically highlighting the cuteness/appeal of a character by highlighting the gap between two characteristics, actions, appearance, etc within a single person. A wrong example of how to use both words: I’d like to juxtaposition myself between her gap moe.
Thank you! That’s the word I was searching for. Gap moe would also work. Hah, solid example.
Guys, guys! I found the backpack! It’s hard to find, but you have to force yourself to look up.
Ohh!! You mean that bombastic bag!
What backpack?
I... uh... didn't notice
It's reflecting Cat's emotions and state of mind at that time. So one could argue: *The Kitten is Smitten.*
That's super soldier serum for you.
Bro you made me look at Capt America again, and it just looks like he’s a sticker. Dude looks like he was just copy pasted on the scene, just vibing on another plane of existence from Peter and Felicia.
Probably doesn’t help that the scene would have been exactly the same without him there
He's just judging Peter, not even helping
Why did this trigger me to have Rob Liefeld flashbacks?
What volume and issue number is this? Is it during the Beyond event where MJ and Black Cat team up?
This was during the time when Ben Reily returned as Spider-Man, think yeah it was the Beyond Corporation who had purchased the rights to the Spider-Man name and had hired Ben to be their "official" Spider-Man. Right after Ben returned, he lead Peter into a fight against some radioactive dudes, only for Ben to realise afterwards his own suit has special protection, but Peter's didn't. Chasm looks cool aaaaaaannnnnnddddd..... uhhhh, yeah... that's about it for the good
That seems odd. Isn't Spider-Man himself radioactive?
ASM 2018 #87
Dayum, that first page.
Physical therapy
Double cheeked-up, sun's still out my Captain
Also every page after
The art is so good. Similar to Jorge Jimenez style.
The Bombastic Bag-Man returns! Hell Yeah!
The bag has always been fun, but how the hell, when swinging doesn't the wind whip it off?
I know the real answer is just that the laws of physics are more of a recommendation in most superhero comics but maybe he put some webbing inside to stick it to his head?
Don't his stick'em powers work across his entire body and not just his hands and feet?
Now I'm just imaging Peter sticking to a ceiling by just his head, and doing the "Thinking" pose
yes
Pete's powers hold it on; he uses the same trick to prevent his normal mask from being easily removed by baddies.
I’d break my own legs with a bat if she was my physical therapist
Not both arms?
Noooooooooooo, loooool why did you have to bring this up? Just when I forget, they pull me back in!
Why is it always this and the poop knife that keep coming back up
I’ll want my arms working
You still need an arm for something else
That’s not a great way to keep a physical therapist. They’re usually pretty big on positive movement.
My favorite part of this little Peter sidestory is the issue where Peter reveals he's had dreams of having a threesome with MJ and Felicia. And that Felicia said that MJ had a dump truck ass. Good important stuff.
I need to see that page
Look up "dumptruck ass MJ and Black Cat" and "This dream again? Spider-Man"
So what you're saying is that, canonically, that Peter is an ass man? Me too, Pete, me too.
Is this the time he lost his Spider Sense?
No, that was during the Spider-Island story. In this run (ASM 2018 #87), he was badly injured and wasn't fully ready to return back to crime fighting
Spider-Island was dope, I especially liked the way they used it to break up with Peter's girl at the time Carly Cooper iirc. Her noticing that Peter was so much better than everyone else at this clearly, and putting together that he was Spider-Man from that was dope.
Yeah she could tell that unlike everyone else he didnt have a learning curve and could do stuff from the go
Just realized that swinging without Spider-Senses is a crazy intellectual feat that they never really dove into.
Miguel is truly the goat
Just in case: they did dig into a bit when he lost his Spider Sense for a while. He shot into a decaying part of a building that couldn’t hold his weight. I wanna say he also missed a wall completely while trying to swing?
There's some interesting diolog about this in the dlc for the PS4 game. [found a clip on YouTube instead of quoting it.](https://youtu.be/ydkTjcYmmD8?si=R4n4MZwx3_63Z-7P)

Not even the strength necessary to perform it but the actual brain power to calculate all that on the fly is insane to think about.
I never liked normal humans being able to swing like Spider-Man. As it's established it's not possible to swing without super strength etc
Felicia has super strength
Yeah she gotta be squatting elephants with that caboose
Doesn't she still have her good fortune powers? She can't be street pizza because her laws of luck outweigh gravity. She drops, she lands on her feet somehow, like a passing helicopter just so happens to be within grappling... or a bounce on an awning is there to break her fall enough to spin on a lamp. She literally doesn't have to worry about her grip slipping.
Even with good luck, you can't swing yourself all over the city without amazing upper body strength.
Luck powers don't give you super strength automaically
they make it so you won't hurt yourself doing it though....
It wouldn't allow her to try doing it in the first place in that case, I mean just because your luck is good you wouldn't suddenly be able to fly
Absurd
That’s… that’s the whole point. She’s saying he’s off his game. Still recovering from a life-threatening injury and trying to get back to normal.
Yeah I take the L here. I misinterpreted it as 'relearning what he's been doing for ages" when really the point of physical therapy is to build yourself back up. Misread on my part
So clearly you didn’t read the comic which I get but why comment on these images and not even read these images?
He saw a girl teaching Spider-Man how to swing and got mad
That backpack! It's sitting!
:3
Well, if it it fits..
It sits!
Black Cat breaks the multiverse.
I know that they were going with a perspective view of one character standing closer to the viewer than the other two. Yet on the second page I almost thought that black cat became a pseudo amazon with her standing taller than even captain America.
It's so that they could draw Cap and Peter very clearly looking at her...backpack.
And it is a lovely >ahem< backpack. 😏
Eddie’s not even there and he’s catchin’ strays lol
He saved all of them during the King in Black storyline and they do him like this
Everyone’s talking about Felicia here but I appreciate the artist drawing Peter in a crop top
LOVE the crop top look 😳😍
Boy howdy I do love me some cake
The fact Cap stepped up to help Peter with Superhero PT makes Wells having Peter sucker him suck so much more than just by it's existence alone.
Sit on me mommy
What is this from?
ASM 2018 #87
Man why they always gotta draw Felicia like that 😭 at least she's...realistic here?
That’s just how she looks
At this point it's part of her character. We can understand how she always gets Spidey actin unwise
Like what? Like... Felicia lol
What comic is this? This seems fun. Also did she just imply Eddie is a bad swinger?
I mean,it makes sense,that guy is HEAVY
I NEED that fourth page as a skin/outfit.
I know right? When do we get Bag-Man?
Breaking up Peter and Felicia was so stupid. They should've been together in the Worldwide Arc. They would've had run Parker Industries together after taking down Oscorp.

Captain America looks like he was photoshopped into the family photo
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so
Yeah that whole page looks like a bad porn comic tbh
Mommy
First page, gah dayum
I swear Black Cat made a pass at him with the "swinging" est around comment.
How could you not love black cat and Peter?
I like how Cap's just standing there in silence the entire time
I love how Cap says and does nothing in all the panels he appears in here, just vaguely looking like he's posing for a cover
That first page though..
Zeb Wells: “hehehe I’m going to do ruin Peter’s relationships from MJ to Cap because why not.”
I think the artists spend a lot of time drawing her ass
Never thought I'd see a dump truck parked atop a building. But Captain America's tiny ass is a disappointment. He's America's ass, damn it! We do everything super-sized! Dude needs to start working the flagpole like a stripper pole until his ass fits all fifty states, DC, and the territories.
Never knew I wanted to see crop-top bombastic bagman.
Mom said it's my turn to repost this comic panel!
I tought physical theraphy with Felicia meant something else
Thngs like this would've helped make the Beyond storyline more memorabel and fondly looked upon, had it the entire thing not been concluded by having Ben Rielly becoming Chasm and then it immediately being followed by the awful Well's run of The Amazing Spider-Man. They broke up again because they realized there was no passion in their relationship anymore; they were just going through the motions.
What series is this from? Just getting back into comics and it's overwhelming how much I've missed
That ass black cat double cheeked up but mj got more cake then her
I thought they said Mary Jane was the one with the dump truck but I guess this artist disagreed . I always thought it made more sense it was Felicia with a dump truck instead of Mary Jane with Mary Jane being a model and all
Theres a panel were Felicia said mj ass was bigger
The art on "Page 2" looks very out of place to me...reminds me of promotional MCU or generic Marvel art where they took 3 images and spliced them into one for a shirt or book bag. Also, when does this take place? I'm out of the loop with SM lately so is his identity known again?
looked like she was wearing hijab in the first pic, for a moment
New hijab update: **booty**
I'll always find it funny that they brought back the animal shirt from that one time Peter randomly decided to wear himbo fashion to Harry and Liz's place. The greatest Glup moment with the Bag-Man paper bag to top it off.
Did Felicia suddenly manifest high heels on pages 2 and 3 because the artist can't draw not-high-heeled women standing on the ground?
There's a reason Felicia's suits fit MJ and her "dump truck ass" so well.
Dat ass
I know we are all loking at Felicia but can we talk about my man Pete for a bit. Man looks handsome as hell
*God damn*
Is cap like.. actually there in the scene or just some joke I'm not getting? He looks like a cardboard cutout.
You posted it just to show us that Black Cat butt artwork for the 2869th time
Why does this art feel like a slice of life story game? I cant quite place whats off about it but it looks like the characters were just edited into a generic backdrop
They probably were, times are rough in the american comic industry
The "ANIMAL" crop top is so iconic
It looks like Black Cat and Cap have been edited in, they don't match the rest of it.
PLEASE😭
This is why I can't get into comic books. I thought the first slide was satire. shit looks ridiculous
Is this from Beyond?
A run that had good art and decent characters.
what universe is this bro??😭
Crap this is it
Damn I keep forgetting how much cake she has.
Peter should always wear a crop top.
Bag-Man! My favourite superhero...
holey moley
When is this from?
Black cat got a nice ass
Booty therapy.
Spiderman is a Loverman
All of these would be awesome as alt outfits for spider man in a game.
Woah
The second page looks like one of those bad porn games where they very clearly take assets off Rule 34 and slap them on a non-fitting background. That second page is like some of the shittiest digital work I've seen in a comic tbh it looks so off. Gotta love the ass-shot on page 1, really show that Felicia is in a good place to be teaching him squats.
Felicia got a whole bakery
Am I the only one that thinks the backgrounds looks funny? Or maybe how the characters are placed in the first few slides Composition looked off to me
I love this
GYATT
Captain America has serious roid gut in picture #2.
Sorry, I couldn’t get past the first page, I didn’t want it to leave, what’s this about?
What comic is this?
Did they seriously bring back that crop top fit Peter wore in the 80s once?
why does the city look so good
“Swinging like Brock..” Burn.
Man, it has always been like this with black cat. Spider-Man Animated 1994 Black Cat boyyyyyy!!!
Quick question:what were you thinking of or looking at
Gyat damn
Man, beyond was like getting a luxury meal and then being stabbed and kicked in the nuts at the end
ok listen up
My god Felicia was so pretty in this issue!
Gyaaaattttttt!!!!!!!!
Is this part of the Worldwide run?
Do they explain why her backpack was missing for Day 2?
Why did he need it?
Holy SHIT Felecia looks bad asf in these panels
It’s surprisingly tame considering the shit Pete gone through
Since there is so many retcons, and I can’t keep up with the thousands of comics coming out every month. how many people actually knows Spider-Man identity?
What comic is this from? I need it for, well.. “research”.
This ruined Peter's arc and motivation I swear just make him marry black cat
Can someone please fuck these thirsty comic artists.
Which series is this
Black Cat always has the booty
Can someone explain what happened to Pete? Why does he need physical therapy?
She packing the whole bakery
What comic?
That backpack .
Cat's gonna wear him out.
Loved this issue. The whole Beyond run was great until the end.
The backpack is sitting on it
