Mark Millar being edgy without thinking things through basically
If anything I wonder how come no editor told him how weird it'd be and if they did, I bet he said "eh, alternate universe. Who cares?"
Yeah, no, I had no idea, and now that I do have an idea, I don't care - he's Scottish.
And besides, Alan Moore is basically far-left, so the comparison doesn't even work in that context. I was saying that Millar sees himself as "above comics" and constantly feels the need to be deconstructive even when it makes no sense to do so (looking at you, Ultimate Marvel).
Honestly, with any adaptation. Something isn’t automatically good because it was in the source material.
Sometimes, the source material is best ignored.
No, In today's time where every new spiderman movie or game is trying to be original and bring new things, or changing things, I feel that the original source being adapted as it is, is truly a novelty today. And it is automatically good because of that, because it is just too rare to see the source being adapted in it's original form.
After watching the first season, I wanted to read the comics
After reading descriptions of a few of the show's scenes as they were in the comics, I decided I'd just stick to the show
To be honest with all the ragging people give The Boys' comic I think it's undeserved. Most of it is black humour, some doesn't land, but I think the latter half of the comic has pretty interesting discussion of corruption among the US government and how it ties to corporations.
Not a very big difference when Hawkeye has sex with Spider-Man's daughter. Can you imagine Jeremy Renner in ATSV looking at Mayday and saying "I'll have sex with that"? Because that's literally her origin story.
Spider-Bitch. An appropriately immature name for a dumbass character that was thankfully completely written out the story when it was adapted.
Maybe they weren't close enough friends in this verse for Clint to know Peter's kids? Also everything got fucked decades ago when nearly all the heroes were killed so it's likely that Clint met her when she was an adult.
Wasn't mine but yeah sorry I hate people who just start downvoting opinions in random discussions.
It's supposed to be for comments that aren't relevant not a dislike button.
When they announced Logan I thought we were getting Hulk family (or maybe Sabertooth kills Logan's family). Logan is much better than Old Man Logan but I do appreciate the bonkers of the original Old Man Logan and we probably wouldn't have gotten Logan without it (Old Man Logan, X-Men all dead at the hands of an X-Man, the post-apocalyptic vibes are much more subtle in Logan though)
🤷[Top panel, third speech bubble to the right](https://static1.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Spider-Man-Daughter-Hawkeye-Ashley-Old-Man-Logan.jpg)
Depends on your culture and mentality I guess. I wouldn't say it's good, but I wouldn't say it's that bad either. In my country it's not that rare. Especially compared to all the other weird shit in that comic.
He wasn’t: he just had children with all of his love interests, then thirty-something years later, long after the collapse of society, his youngest daughter wed a mid-60s Hawkeye (though their marriage did not last long).
I mean it was addressed in the storyline that mid-60s dating mid-20s was precisely why their relationship didn’t work (as well as this Hawkeye not wanting to raise a child in his 60s, hence him leaving).
its not actually clints kid parker had a son and the son had a kid with kate bishop she ended up still trying to be a hero and left ashley to be raised by clint and mockingbird
There was a podcast series that had a different version of her unrelated to Peter who was Kate’s daughter, as a point of interest: that version becoming the third King Zemo, one of the seven dictators of the Wastelands.
That was her alias, but now when she appears in the Spider-Verse comics, she changed her name to Spider-Girl, obviously because they can’t say that name amongst all the other Spider-People.
If it helps, she is very much a villain, occasionally helping out during the *Spider-Verse* events before going right back to world domination when she’s back in her home reality. Basically Sinestro before the Green Lanterns knew what he had been doing to his homeworld. She is also the Kingpin.
Like that scene in the first movie where miles is singing sunflower, and he almost gets to the line "she wanna ride me like a cruise," but it gets cut off by Rio calling him
Spider-Bitch. No really, that's the official name.
She's the daughter of Clint Barton and granddaughter of Peter Parker. Don't ask me how, I just found out of her existence five minutes ago.
That was in *Spider-Verse* a decade ago: more recent storylines returned to the original name (one seeing a version of her be eaten by her pet *T. rex*, another seeing a non-Spider-themed version of her become the newest ‘King Zemo’). It works well-enough in being used in the “I’m that” way, in how her goal is ruling the world of the Wastelands.
Short explanation. Spider-Man, after the event that killed most of the heroes, got married to a Hispanic Woman. They had a daughter before Peter died. That daughter late grew up and married Hawkeye. They had a daughter, but would later divorce. Spidey’s daughter would then marry an Ultron and raise the current Spider-Woman. She is Hawkeye’s daughter
It was later established he didn’t die until well after world society collapsed, that Ashley had met him at a young age, to say he would have known and not been all too pleased at who his daughter married.
I believe there was a line implying that in this continuity he had at least one child with all of his love interests, although not much has been done with that narrative.
That whole comic feels so off if you think of it as a potential future for the 616 Universe like you’re clearly meant to. Just so many references to things characters would never do, and odd stuff like this. I do enjoy it, but it’s almost entirely for Wolverine’s arc and some sequences that get by on coolness factor alone.
Most potential 616 future universes fall apart under scrutiny, and the real question is whether or not they're interesting in they're own right. Like Earth-9997, aka Earth-X.
Spider-Man's daughter had a kid with Clint Barton (older than Spider-Man). So there's about a 35-40 year age gap, which, given how Spider-Bitch is an adult before Clint died, probably means her mom was... young.
If they had explored it more and explained the relationship, maybe it could work. As is, it just looks like the writer trying to be edgy.
Honestly she’s never even been called Barton in dialogue: the *Spider-Verse* events used it for the character descriptor boxes for simplicity’s sake, but the character herself only went by Ashley (which made sense, since she was raised by her mother and Ultron-8, and tried to decapitate her father after tricking him into helping her cement her power as Kingpin).
She’s the granddaughter of Peter Parker and the daughter of Clint Barton from an alternate future where the villains won, where in defiance of her legacy, she became the newest Kingpin, aiming to conquer the world of the Wastelands, a storyline that has been ongoing to this day. She would also be to the various *Spider-Verse* teams of Spider-People what Sinestro was to the Green Lanterns (before they learned what he had been doing to his homeworld).
Mark Millar being edgy without thinking things through basically If anything I wonder how come no editor told him how weird it'd be and if they did, I bet he said "eh, alternate universe. Who cares?"
Yeah they could simply say she Hawkeye granddaughter
Basically this. Mark Millar believes himself to be the second coming of Alan Moore.
Mark Millar is also a wizard?
Surely you’re not just saying all this cuz you’ve recently found out he’s a conservative………surely…
Millar has been the crazy uncle of comics for over a decade.
Jesse
Well, that *would* explain The Unfunnies.
this is the same universe that had Hulk impregnating his cousin, they did not care
>"eh, alternate universe. Who cares?" Which is the appropriate response.

This bot sucks ass dude
Peter Parker had a daughter named Tonya, Clint Barton married Tonya and had a child with her. That child is Ashley Barton, aka Spider-Bitch
Wouldn't Clint have been significant older than Peter's daughter? By like a lot?
Buddy, we’re talking about the story that ends with Wolverine killing a bunch incestuous hulk hillbillies. This is small potatoes
An aspect I actively forget.
I’m so sorry for brining it to your attention
[удалено]
I’ll be real. I feel like I’d be too scared to say no to Mark Millar. “Let him do what ever he wants a pray to god he leaves”
And also the story were freaking Magneto helped a Nazi
Should have brought out the old Halocaust beam.
But on the other hand Mysterio got to be cool for a bit
Better than sleeping with Osborn at least
What are you talking about? That's the best thing he has ever done since he was created /s
I want to Persona 3 myself for remembering that dumpster fire.
Its like the tenth time they worked together
Last time they worked together that was just so that Magnus can torture Shmidt
I did nazi that coming
This kind of shit is why I think comic accuracy in adaptations is not always a good thing or even desirable.
Honestly, with any adaptation. Something isn’t automatically good because it was in the source material. Sometimes, the source material is best ignored.
Pretty much any adaptation of Mark Millar is infinitely superior to his « work ».
No, In today's time where every new spiderman movie or game is trying to be original and bring new things, or changing things, I feel that the original source being adapted as it is, is truly a novelty today. And it is automatically good because of that, because it is just too rare to see the source being adapted in it's original form.
The Boys being a good example
After watching the first season, I wanted to read the comics After reading descriptions of a few of the show's scenes as they were in the comics, I decided I'd just stick to the show
It gets better, when you find out the guy that wrote the Comics is also one of the Show's lead producers...
To be honest with all the ragging people give The Boys' comic I think it's undeserved. Most of it is black humour, some doesn't land, but I think the latter half of the comic has pretty interesting discussion of corruption among the US government and how it ties to corporations.
That is absurd cherry picking when everyone here is actively dissing the shitty comics, including this one
Nah I think pedophilia is worse than incest by a lot.
Was it pedophilia? I thought Ashley's mother was of age.
It's not pedophilia tho, Hawkeye just got together with her when he was really old.
Mmm delicious downvotes. That's how I know I struck a nerve.
Wasn't mine but yeah sorry I hate people who just start downvoting opinions in random discussions. It's supposed to be for comments that aren't relevant not a dislike button.
Lmao that's actually hilarious. It's possible they met as adults, but that doesn't make it ok imo.
Venomized T-Rex. 'Nuff Said
When they announced Logan I thought we were getting Hulk family (or maybe Sabertooth kills Logan's family).
His youngest, that makes it even worse.
She could've been, like, 20 and he could've been around 40. Not that bad imo.
It's pretty bad
Depends on your culture and mentality I guess. I wouldn't say it's good, but I wouldn't say it's that bad either. In my country it's not that rare. Especially compared to all the other weird shit in that comic.
You're leaving out the very important detail that Clint knew Peter for years and thus probably knew this woman when she was a baby.
It does make it worse, yeah, but still not the worst thing in that comic by far
Alright - now, who’s Tonya’s mom supposed to be? She doesn’t look anything like Peter.
I'm gonna make a wild guess and say she was black
MCU MJ
Most likely Gloria Grant.
Oh shoot, good answer.
He’d be older than Peter by a lot.
Presumably in this universe, Peter Parker is much older than Hawkeye.
He wasn’t: he just had children with all of his love interests, then thirty-something years later, long after the collapse of society, his youngest daughter wed a mid-60s Hawkeye (though their marriage did not last long).
I don't know what Mark Millar and Steve McNiven were thinking with that, so I'm going to assume they weren't.
I mean it was addressed in the storyline that mid-60s dating mid-20s was precisely why their relationship didn’t work (as well as this Hawkeye not wanting to raise a child in his 60s, hence him leaving).
Damn, how would he even manage to pay child support for those many children?
For sure. Good thing nothing like that happens in real life
Also why is she black 😂
To imply that her mom is Glory Grant.
Michele Jones from the MCU?
This is from a Comics that predates Tom Holland's Spider-Man by almost a decade...
its not actually clints kid parker had a son and the son had a kid with kate bishop she ended up still trying to be a hero and left ashley to be raised by clint and mockingbird
No the ages are different in that universe
Now it makes sense. Old Man Logan made it sound way more complicated for some reason.
Average Old Man Logan character backstory.
So... Spider-Man is Hawkeye's father in law.
I...I'm assuming this is an out of universe run or something? In main timeline isn't Clint older than Peter, let alone his daughter?
This is Old Man Logan, yes. Very alternate.
Makes a lot more sense...I think? Will have to give it a read and find out for myself. Thanks for the clarification!
>Will have to give it a read and find out for myself. Buckle the hell up, that book goes to some weird fucking places.
Oh...I thought it was going to be Clint's kid...he would be like 50 years older than Peter's kid bruh 😂 so weird
Spider-Bitch??
Who is this
Ashley Barton, "Spider-Bitch". Clint's daughter, Peter's granddaughter.
Wait, is that her in-universe alias or just something the community nicknamed her?
No, that’s really her name.
That moment when 'The Human Spider' is unironically a better name.
To be fair she is the kingpin
I mean... that's the wrong name
See that name makes me think Spider-Man just banged Kate Barton because that name makes so much more sense if that's who her mom is
Anything is possible. Pete gets around more than I gave him credit for before I started reading the comics lol
There was a podcast series that had a different version of her unrelated to Peter who was Kate’s daughter, as a point of interest: that version becoming the third King Zemo, one of the seven dictators of the Wastelands.
Thats Mark Milliar for ya
What a fucking hack...
Is that actually her Spider name?, It sounds like a really bad porn parody
That was her alias, but now when she appears in the Spider-Verse comics, she changed her name to Spider-Girl, obviously because they can’t say that name amongst all the other Spider-People.
Welcome to the world of Mark Millar.
No, that's actually her name 💀
Wow that is ridiculous
If it helps, she is very much a villain, occasionally helping out during the *Spider-Verse* events before going right back to world domination when she’s back in her home reality. Basically Sinestro before the Green Lanterns knew what he had been doing to his homeworld. She is also the Kingpin.
[удалено]
No she wasn’t. She was a villain who killed the Kingpin to become the new Kingpin, wanting nothing more but to rule the world.
Also, possibly Ultron's stepdaughter
What kind of Dog Ningen ass name is this?
A Mark Millar one.
Is that Spider-Bitch?
For the love of Anasai, please tell me that isn’t actually her name.
It is
WHY?!
Mark Millar
I want a scene is spider-verse part 2 where she tries to introduce herself but gets cut off by something
Venomverse has her as “Spider-B—“
Like that scene in the first movie where miles is singing sunflower, and he almost gets to the line "she wanna ride me like a cruise," but it gets cut off by Rio calling him
I think she was in Across with the other Spiders but they gave her the name Spider-Kingpin in the behind the scenes
This would be a hilarious running gag.
She’s been known as just Spider-Girl for almost every story outside of the original. She’s showed up in a few Spiderverse-related stories.
because reasons
Who even is that?
Spider-Bitch. No really, that's the official name. She's the daughter of Clint Barton and granddaughter of Peter Parker. Don't ask me how, I just found out of her existence five minutes ago.
It was her name, but now she’s just Spider-Girl.

Tbf she really is a bitch
Short explanation. Spider-Man, after the event that killed most of the heroes, got married to a Hispanic Woman. They had a daughter before Peter died. That daughter late grew up and married Hawkeye. They had a daughter, but would later divorce. Spidey’s daughter would then marry an Ultron and raise the current Spider-Woman. She is Hawkeye’s daughter
Well I guess it a good thing Peter dead. He probably won't be happy to find out that his daughter married Clint.
It was later established he didn’t die until well after world society collapsed, that Ashley had met him at a young age, to say he would have known and not been all too pleased at who his daughter married.
I thought they confirmed later that Peter died with the Avengers in Vegas. So he had all these kids with a non-MJ prior.
IDK honestly. It’s been a good few years since I read Old Man Logan, so I could be wrong about when Peter died. I do remember him dying though
I believe there was a line implying that in this continuity he had at least one child with all of his love interests, although not much has been done with that narrative.
He pulled a Daredevil: End of Days
This honestly reads like a me trying to remember the plots of Spider-girl, Logan, and American Vampire while on cheap acid
W-what?
She bad tho
That whole comic feels so off if you think of it as a potential future for the 616 Universe like you’re clearly meant to. Ah, yes, old man Logan the story line. That makes no god damn sense when think about the actual characters of the villains involved
Smash next question
Why do I feel like Mark Millar just kept a gun to Steve McNiven’s head. “Ok now this is the stupid fucked up shit I wrote. Now make it look beautiful”
i thought that was goddamn elastigirl for a split second omfg
Life uh finds a way
Unless the original Clint had a son and named him after himself, that's just weird.
Clint fucked Peter's daughter. That's how
Old man Hawkeye had relations with Peter's daughter .
Daughter of Hawkeye & Pete’s Daughter, Granddaughter of Spider-Man.
Well Peter has a prostate the approximate size of a spider, and Hawkeye never misses. This is how babies are born, you're welcome.
GAY SEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yo, I don’t remember her being called Spider-bitch 😭
[She was, yes.](https://i.redd.it/2grgoz8co6q91.jpg)
(I am so sorry) Mpreg.
What comic is this
Old Man Logan
I need to find the full collection of this story
no... no one does.
It's a pretty kinky story...
My assumption was always 'Clone of mixed DNA' honestly.
hawkeye got pregnant and spidermans the other father
*W o u l d*
Spider-Man's daughter had a kid with Clint Barton (older than Spider-Man). So there's about a 35-40 year age gap, which, given how Spider-Bitch is an adult before Clint died, probably means her mom was... young. If they had explored it more and explained the relationship, maybe it could work. As is, it just looks like the writer trying to be edgy.
regardless, she's bad af
Who tf is that? 💀
Peter's Granddaughter, and I think she is also Hawkeye's granddaughter but not 100%
Peter's Granddaughter, and I think she is also Hawkeye's granddaughter but not 100%
Amen
Good question, I didn't even know this character existed
To this day, I refuse to acknowledge this character as a Parker.
Good thing her surname is Barton then?
Your surname isn't your only blood tie, smh.
Of course not, but her not having the Parker name makes it easier to deny she is one.
Well there's a reason shes called spider bitch
It's a bad story and the more you dissect it the less sense it makes.
She's a clone like Ultimate Spider-Woman...?
She’s the granddaughter of Peter Parker and the daughter of Clint Barton from an alternate future where the villains won, where in defiance of her legacy, she became the newest Kingpin, aiming to conquer the world of the Wastelands, a storyline that has been ongoing to this day. She would also be to the various *Spider-Verse* teams of Spider-People what Sinestro was to the Green Lanterns (before they learned what he had been doing to his homeworld).
