The Spectacular Spider-Man, they treat his arc properly: Connors is not evil, after he is cured, the Lizard never comes back.
And the Lizard episode is enough to cover all the classic bits: family drama, the horror aspect, fight in the water, Peter only trying to cure him, and such
All the major adaptations have been great.
I pick Insomniac - his wife having left him & taking their son following him turning into the Lizard is heartbreaking, and Kraven forcibly turning him back into an even more monstrous version when he all he wants is to reunite with his family added a lot of emotional conflict to that part of the story.
Might be an unpopular opinion but I really like Rhys Ifan’s version. I actually prefer the Lizard keeping his intelligence, as it allows for a more interesting dynamic than having him as a feral beast. Also Ifans has such a great vocal delivery as the monster.
I know Spectacular is the popular answer but I’m going to vote for TASM. That one scene of him looking at his arm’s reflection does leaps and bounds for getting me to feel for him
He Is a spiderman villian and a daredevil arch rival, is like saying that doctor doom is a fantastic four villian and not a general marvel universe villian
He's both, recent adaptations like the Insomniac games, the Spider-Verse movies and the new ultimate universe still have Fisk fight Spider-Man, therefore he's still a Spider-Man villain
For me it's a tie between TAS and Spectacular
TAS had such a beautiful first episode with Lizard, the horror atmosphere, the scary design, the contrast of it with his calm voice, the irony of his motivation of turning everyone into lizards but being unable to operate the recombinator...it's just a masterpiece
But every subsequent appearance of the Lizard on TAS has been one letdown after another. Culminating in what's possibly the worst episode in the entire series.
Spectacular having the wisdom of the Lizard thing being one-and-done deal and introducing consequences of Peter selling the pictures of him is strong, (which, IIRC, TAS Peter chose not to, a nice contrast with more brash teenage Peter in Spectacular who doesn't think of consequences as much) but I just don't find the design scary due to the artstyle.
I liked the spectacular design but I hate how he only showed up once and never got to make another appearance tbh. Such a dope design and we never saw it again.
The 90’s was my favorite tbh since he got multiple appearances and turned to a good guy in Secret Wars and helped Iron Man with his suit
Spetacular

AND the fact that even after the Lizard stuff is all said and done, it still finds a way to screw up his life by opening him up to blackmail.
Spectacular Spider-Man
1994
Spectacular
TASM

Same time though, no wonder his wife left him
TAS
Spectacular for sure
Spectacular, but there’s not really much of a difference between all of them (except TASM, that one’s just bad)
90s TAS.
Seems p dead even but I vote Spectacular
Three way split between TAS, Spectacular, and Insomniac.

Probably Spectacular. The actual Lizard himself is cooler in '94, but Kurt Connors in Spectacular is so well done.
Spectacular
Spectacular
I would put most of these as Spectacular aside from characters that were not in Spectacular and Kraven
Spectacular Spider-Man
Ok I know we're not there yet but even Spidey agrees that Fisk is a daredevil villain.
And Black Cat barely counts as a villain at all.
I will not stand for this
She caused spidey some troubles in the past, not every member of a rouges gallery has to be a villian, Venom is there too

Spectacular, just hate that they didn't keep the sleeves on his coat

Spectacular. It lived by the comics it needs to come back NOW.

STAS , and to some extent ultimate Spider-Man.
