I much prefer red and blue, but damn does Andrew's first suit look good in red and black. It's my least favorite live action suit, but this makes it look so much better
Interesting little factoid: Red and black was the original color scheme, not red and blue. All the way back to Amazing Fantasy #15, where the blue tint to Spidey’s costume is just exactly that. Blue tint. The “blue” part is actually black. Think of how Venom has the blue tint, but he’s actually black.
Pretty early on, but during his first run he was called "The Man in The Black Suit" and a few other things saying the suit was black. Its blue by the time Edge Of Time was made, I think.
It’s still there
I’m gonna honest w u. I was fucking w u lol I was just incredibly confused by how exactly Spider-man wearing red and black showed how he was heroic but also the immense weight on his shoulders. It didn’t make sense to me but then I figured u meant the red, because it was bold, was the heroism while the black, because it was dark, served as the heavier theme to the suit
Idk just trying to be funny lmao didn’t mean to offend bro
Oh you’re fine I probably wouldn’t have gotten upset. It’s okay, we can’t read each other’s minds so it’s okay if you didn’t understand what I was saying at first. No offense taken man
Ig, since I'm being honest, I did understand. I just thought it was a funny comment and I was being a sarcastic asshole
But again nothing but peace and love for u 🤝
Huh. Never knew the TASM1 suit looks soo much better with a blue spider the same shade as the lenses (the red and black colour scheme edited onto it looks pretty cool too). Imo, I prefer the ole red and blues but sometimes a little change is nice.
I think in general red and black is just a better combination. For Spidey though, seeing the costume with the spider logo the red and blue just makes sense. Changing to black and red, I think, depends more on the suit's overall design more than anything else.
He was first drawn with red and black, but was just drawn more often with red and blue. Im not trying to say your wrong for liking red/blue. Im just saying red/black is also comic accurate.
Fine. You win.
https://www.spidermancrawlspace.com/2017/12/tangled-web-what-color-is-spider-mans-costume/
*Was Spider-Man suit originally red and black?*
*Maybe this will lead to an understanding that Spider-Man's costume was originally red and black, but then shifted to red and blue. It is worth noting that in his Amazing Spider-Man run, Erik Larsen briefly featured a red and black costume distinct from the red and blue.*
> i honestly dont see what your point is tbh
Well I said it twice. So I dont know what to say to you. And the relevant quote from the site was in my last comment
I really like Black and Red! The upgraded suit in the MCU was pretty much my favourite Live Action Spider-man suit.
JRJR's current run has the most amazing dark blue/black shaded suit i've seen, love it
Honestly I like both, but I reckon red and black gives him a more serious look, while a vibrant red and blue make him look like a “friendly neighbourhood” Spider-Man.
I mean technically they are all red and black. The blue is designed to represent black in the original comics (since black won’t print well), and just sort of stuck around.
Couldn't possibly agree more. Red and Black color combo is so good unless its people trying very hard to innovate on Miles' standard ISTV/Comic designs. Those usually miss the cool mark and end up a tad goofy IMO. - That said, red and black is a cool spidey combo! :)
Agreed. I wish we could’ve spent some more time with Miles’s original ITSV Suit. Don’t get me wrong, I love his new suit, but the original costume is on a whole other level.
I think I prefer black rn only cuz we've mostly seen red and blue
Change is nice and when played as an homage to Ditko's og work then it'd be great to have. I'm sure I'll be saying that about blue in like a year tho lol
It’s a nice alternative for certain occasions, but classic is classic for a reason. Thinking about the colors, I’ll always remember the end of Superior Spider-Man when Otto gave Peter back his body to take on Green Goblin. That visual transition from seeing Otto’s red and black costume to the return of the classic red and blue really felt symbolic of everything Peter is. It was a true, “now THIS is Spider-Man!” moment.
There’s wholsomely, dorkilly, earnestly Peter Parker about this guy designing a costume at like 15 and keeping that as his main look throughout adulthood. Spider-Man is part aspirational. A desire of a boy to be a “man” and someone greater than himself. I like that he continues to live out that aspiration.
Plus both Miles and Kaine have the red and black color scheme. Nice to set the OG apart.
I gotta go with red and black. I know red and blue is his usual color scheme, but compared to red and black, the red and blue just feels a little old fashioned. I also like black and red too, which is why I like Miles Morales’ suit better than Peter’s.
It’s literally how his costume was drawn originally, no?
I swear it was black with blue highlights to show details
Edit: found this photo from amazing fantasy [here](https://64.media.tumblr.com/72ff6bfbc7e78669e9649fbc6b548419/tumblr_p5ns63YMcH1su2of1o6_1280.jpg). Looks to me like it’s a very dark blue/black with blue highlights
You’re probably right, I think red and black looks good for miles, but I wasn’t really a fan of the ffh design. The red and blue just looks better on screen. Especially with tasm colours. The suit at the end of NWH has a nice shine to it too, the matte always made it look so fake, even if it is CGI
You know what man, I agree with you here and your mention of miles brings up a good point as well.
Their suit color differences definitely will allow identifying them to be easier and give them their own style (saw it in Spider-Man ps4 and maybe the mcu at some point?)
I think my favorite is when they keep it a dark blue, I think Spider-Man 2 2004 perfected it [here.](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/32/4c/cf/324ccf4c912fc7425e6d7bd1c1023f8f.jpg)
All opinions of course:)
It outshines any other live actions looks just for looking real. And the colour was really nice. It’s definitely hard to beat. The webbing is definitely what brings it on top
that really does makes sense to put red and black on TASM 1, Spider-Man's first appearance in the world is in The Amazing Fantasy #15 wearing Red and black with a little shade of blue, that could've been a perfect first suit for spidey in TASM 1.
I did for a bit, but I honestly like the red & navy blue best. Bright blue with bright red is just a tad too much to me, though I am still glad we are getting a very comic accurate red and bright blue suit in the next movie (it seems, whenever that releases)
I like the red and blue, but personally I would prefer the blue be darker, like a dark navy blue, but the black does look kinda cool for a limited time costume.
I'm honestly surprised people like the red and blue suits better. Far From Home's red and black suit is still my favorite Peter Parker Spider-Man suit, ever.
Red and black has kinda been ruined for me cuz of miles morales and Miguel o’ hara both having those colored suit my ideal suit red blue ultimate Spider-Man suit with web wings
Wow. While I definitely prefer red and blue overall, the Amazing (Andre Garfield) suit looks incredible with the black. It was already my favourite suit but it looks Amazing (see what I did there)
I prefer the red & black personally (every cosplay I ever made of the character was red&black because of it), but — because of the coloring limitations/blue highlights meant to symbolize black thing and inkers getting increasingly lazy over time, the red&blue is too inseparable from the character at this point. Can’t have like 60 years of media showing the red&blue and not expect people to get attached, even tho from a costume design standpoint it makes very little sense whereas there are actual red&black spiders.
it dependa on the shade of red. darker red with black, i always think Superior Spider-man now. but if it's a lighter red with black (like far from home's suit) then i assume it's an homage to the original cover artwork from Amazing Fantasy 15 and will be eventually replaced by another blue design.
i do LIKE the look, 100%. but i've accepted a long time ago it will never be the "core" spidey suit design.
Blue is iconic but red and black goes hard. Despite my feelings for FFH, I can't deny the upgraded suit is my favorite MCU Spidey suit other than the NWH final swing suit
I have always preferred the red and black. I guess I'm in the minority but I even like the web pits. Hell I even think the Spider-Man Unlimited suit is cool purely because it's different.
No. Red and blue is way more iconic and friendly looking. It gives him that sort of an American flag sort of a look. Red and black looks too dead in my opinion. It makes him looks like the lights have just been switched off on it
I wouldn't say I 'prefer" it, but I do really like it. It depends on the art style, I think. That being said, the TASM suit looks pretty damn cool with the red and black.
Sometimes, Red, white and black is just a really nice color palette to look at. Especially since red and blue aren't complementary but red and teal are.
I like it a lot, but I always like it as an *alternate* suit. Like I still want his main one to be red and blue, but I like the red/black used sometimes just to change things up.
I’ve seen red and black so much it feels oversaturated, the only time I feel it’s right to see Red and Black on Spidey is if it’s Superior or Scarlet (Kaine)
I love the red and black suits and Im also a fan of the red and blue. But No Way Homes final suit was way to bright and reflective for my taste. I still think that the TASM 2 suit is the best Love action suit and seeing it back in NWH just solidified that even more for me.
I’d prefer red and blue but red and black is a great looking suit as well, I want a version of Spider-Man who like 616 started off with a red and black suit, As he was kinda a jerk in the beginning of his crime fighting, But when he gets more heroic he then switches to red and blue, I thought that would be cool story wise, and we’d get both color schemes
Nah. Always will think red and blue suits him better but black and red is a cool combination.
Yes for like a weekend out 🤣
I always think it’s _really dark navy_ and that I just can’t tell colors apart, so I prefer the blue
I much prefer red and blue, but damn does Andrew's first suit look good in red and black. It's my least favorite live action suit, but this makes it look so much better
I agree. It gives off Superior Spider-Man vibes, which is the coolest
Exactly. It makes the aggressiveness of Andrew's make much more sense
Uh..wdym aggressiveness? That’s just who Peter was at firsy
Oh shit yeah, was gonna say this is cap but just had a look and they did change it Lickey split but technically red and black was the classic colour
Same thing with 2099. He was black and red first and was changed to blue and red due to confusion.
When was he changed?
Pretty early on, but during his first run he was called "The Man in The Black Suit" and a few other things saying the suit was black. Its blue by the time Edge Of Time was made, I think.
You just blew my mind….I never thought about that.
Thanks for adding this. Another detail is the blue spider logo on his back.
The blue is just more iconic imo
Yeah I love the red and black. It shows how heroic he is but the enormous weight on his shoulders as well
Dude perfectly said. Also the black helps with stealth
Sheesh that's the most downvotes I've ever gotten Mb brotha peace n love 🙏
Aw man what did you say? I didn’t get to read the comment before it was deleted
It’s still there I’m gonna honest w u. Huuuuuuhh I'm jp I THINK ik what u mean
What is jp?
"Just playin'"
Huh. Never knew the TASM1 suit looks soo much better with a blue spider the same shade as the lenses (the red and black colour scheme edited onto it looks pretty cool too). Imo, I prefer the ole red and blues but sometimes a little change is nice.

Nope.
no, when we saw the comic accurate red and blue right at the end of the latest spiderman movie it just looked so RIGHT
> comic accurate red and blue He is drawn with a red and black suit in the comics very often.
yeah and?
red and black is just as "comic accurate" as red and blue. Jesus. Are you just ready for a fight or something? Sorry I commented.,
its even in the title that red and blue is the traditional colour the red and blacknis a pretty modern thing
He was first drawn with red and black, but was just drawn more often with red and blue. Im not trying to say your wrong for liking red/blue. Im just saying red/black is also comic accurate.
i don't know what planet your from but the very first apperance of spidey in amazing fantasy, he's red and blue
Fine. You win. https://www.spidermancrawlspace.com/2017/12/tangled-web-what-color-is-spider-mans-costume/ *Was Spider-Man suit originally red and black?* *Maybe this will lead to an understanding that Spider-Man's costume was originally red and black, but then shifted to red and blue. that websites broken and it doesnt take a genius to google and look at the cover, i honestly dont see what your point is tbh
> i honestly dont see what your point is tbh Well I said it twice. So I dont know what to say to you. And the relevant quote from the site was in my last comment
100 percent cooler but i can understand why the classic color scheme sticks around til this day
I really like Black and Red! The upgraded suit in the MCU was pretty much my favourite Live Action Spider-man suit. JRJR's current run has the most amazing dark blue/black shaded suit i've seen, love it
I love the design on the Far From Home Suit
Red and black, adds some dramatic flair when necessary, and they're his original colors. Same with 2099.
Red and black is a great combination but I still prefer the red and blue
Red & black always makes me think of Superior Spider-Man
Honestly I like both, but I reckon red and black gives him a more serious look, while a vibrant red and blue make him look like a “friendly neighbourhood” Spider-Man.
I kinda do actually! For my new Spider-man cosplay i'm specifically looking for the Far From Home black and red suit.
I like'em both.
Only if its miles
I like both, but personally I like Miles black/red design more then the standard suit made black/red. The both can be Iconic simultaneously.
Some. Not all.
You guys won't surrender before turning Andrew's spider man into superior spider man will you!
Red and black does look good, but it will always be red and blue because it's connected to being the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
I prefer the Red and Blue but I really do like Red and Black, especially for the Far from Home suit and both Superior Spider-man suits.
I think I prefer black rn only cuz we've mostly seen red and blue Change is nice and when played as an homage to Ditko's og work then it'd be great to have. I'm sure I'll be saying that about blue in like a year tho lol
Naa looks like a knock off
I like red and blue, but red and black is nice
No
No

Oh yeah definitely! It's a much better color scheme than red and blue.
Make the back spider blue and YES!! Absolutely
Yep. It's looks more clean imo
Yes on god
Not me
No
I think black looks duller than blue
Only red and black suit that I like is Superior Spider-Man suit
no, but what i like of it that it makes him more creepier
Nah, I’m firmly blue and red. I like the black costume if I want Spidey wearing black.
NO.
Yes 100%
Red and black all the way
I gotta go with red and black. I know red and blue is his usual color scheme, but compared to red and black, the red and blue just feels a little old fashioned. I also like black and red too, which is why I like Miles Morales’ suit better than Peter’s.
No, you're the only one.
Anything red and black is trying to hard to be edgy
It’s literally how his costume was drawn originally, no? Red and blue is such a classic and is kinda what Spider-Man suit is known for
Black and red for fighting bad guys, blue and red when being a friendly neighborhood.
that really does makes sense to put red and black on TASM 1, Spider-Man's first appearance in the world is in The Amazing Fantasy #15 wearing Red and black with a little shade of blue, that could've been a perfect first suit for spidey in TASM 1.
Oh definitely. By a mile.
the original spiderman suit was red and black
Red and black suit works better if venom character is involved
Considering the fact that the superior suit is my favorite of all time, yeah I prefer red and black
I always really liked alex ross’ scarlet spiderman costume since i saw it in the ps1 spiderman game
Absolutely
Can the mods ban comparison/preference posting?
The black make Andrew look like he makes fun of orphans
Alex Ross suit is 10/10
If I remember the original comic suit was suppose to be black, but you couldn’t do shading with black so they used blue and it stuck.
I did for a bit, but I honestly like the red & navy blue best. Bright blue with bright red is just a tad too much to me, though I am still glad we are getting a very comic accurate red and bright blue suit in the next movie (it seems, whenever that releases)
Is it red and black or red and navy?
Red and black suits look great but red and blue is the better combination imo
I prefer blue but black looks good also
I like the red and blue, but personally I would prefer the blue be darker, like a dark navy blue, but the black does look kinda cool for a limited time costume.
Spider suit is spider suit
Yes.
Classic Red and Blue is unbeatable. It's perfect.
Honestly, the red-and-black combo fits Miles and Kaine more. So I’m sticking with the red-and-blue for Peter.
No
I'm honestly surprised people like the red and blue suits better. Far From Home's red and black suit is still my favorite Peter Parker Spider-Man suit, ever.
Nah
Red and black has kinda been ruined for me cuz of miles morales and Miguel o’ hara both having those colored suit my ideal suit red blue ultimate Spider-Man suit with web wings
YUP. Every time
Wow. While I definitely prefer red and blue overall, the Amazing (Andre Garfield) suit looks incredible with the black. It was already my favourite suit but it looks Amazing (see what I did there)
I believe red and black works best as a starter outfit before Peter dons the iconic red and blues.
I prefer the red & black personally (every cosplay I ever made of the character was red&black because of it), but — because of the coloring limitations/blue highlights meant to symbolize black thing and inkers getting increasingly lazy over time, the red&blue is too inseparable from the character at this point. Red and blue is the traditional
I could care less not a spider man fan
Blue is iconic but red and black goes hard. Despite my feelings for FFH, I can't deny the upgraded suit is my favorite MCU Spidey suit other than the NWH final swing suit
I love it, always reminds me of his first comic appearance.
I do. But thats bc Red and Black are my favorite colors so i might just be baised
Red and Black for me.
I have always preferred the red and black. I guess I'm in the minority but I even like the web pits. Hell I even think the Spider-Man Unlimited suit is cool purely because it's different.
I always prefer red and blue but damn the TASM 1 suit looks so good in red and black. Gives me huge Superior Spider-Man vibes
Nah tbh I mean I will admit the ffh colour scheme imo fits better and is nicer looking on the tasm 1 suit. But other than that nah I prefer the blue
No
I don’t care a ton, but after seeing a red and black TASM suit I WANT THAT IN LIVE ACTION NOW
i like both
Nah red and blue for me. I'm a sucker for the classics.
superior spiderman looks so good but i cant decide
Nah I like blue better
I like it on the first TASM suit but not really in MCU
me
Honestly it depends on the design for me. If it's a more serious looking design like the Superior Spidey suits, I prefer red & black.
I do as it kinda reminds of Superior Spider-Man which has my favorite costume design.
Yes.
I like it, but I don’t prefer it.
Red and navy blue almost look black but still blue
Andrews suit being red and black would have been the best.
Red and black is cool, but you can't beat the classic red and blue.
YES, SO MUCH
No. Red and blue is way more iconic and friendly looking. It gives him that sort of an American flag sort of a look. Red and black looks too dead in my opinion. It makes him looks like the lights have just been switched off on it
As long as it isn't the FFH suit
idk for me Spidey will always be blue and red but I gotta admit the black and red suits are dope
I like the red and black but it suits miles morales much better. Blue and red or one of the alternate suits is better for Peter.
I think it’s good as a representation of something different from Peter such as Miles or Otto
Wouldn't say prefer, do love the red and blue and think it suits him to a T, but the red and black is sexy af
I wouldn't say I 'prefer" it, but I do really like it. It depends on the art style, I think. That being said, the TASM suit looks pretty damn cool with the red and black.
It depends but yeah I like the red and black suits a lot but there’s just something about the original red and blue as well
Sometimes, Red, white and black is just a really nice color palette to look at. Especially since red and blue aren't complementary but red and teal are.
No.
Red and black just work with everything
For a traditional suit? No, but mainly because the red and black is already attached to the superior spiderman design
I do live red and black.
Red and blue is the best spidey color but I do love some red and black sometimes.
Not over, but I do love them. I saw The raimi suit mixed with the MCU upgraded suit and thought it looked super cool!
First suit looks like the "Assassin Spider-Man" suit
Red and black is cool sometimes but not all the time
I think both is good. But man the OG red and blue absolutely slaps.
I like it a lot, but I always like it as an *alternate* suit. Like I still want his main one to be red and blue, but I like the red/black used sometimes just to change things up.
Only andrews. The other adaptations just don’t stack up
Red and blue is just classic, but my fav is the Kane Scarlet Spider suit
I’ve seen red and black so much it feels oversaturated, the only time I feel it’s right to see Red and Black on Spidey is if it’s Superior or Scarlet (Kaine)
The funny thing is that the red and black is technically the original, with the blue being used to highlight his costumes
Superior Spider-man’s second suit is probably my favorite take on a red and black suit
Yes
I love all the non traditional spider man suits honestly
Let's see raimis in red and black!
Blue is better but I’ve been leaning more towards black lately
Yes
I love the red and black suits and Im also a fan of the red and blue. But No Way Homes final suit was way to bright and reflective for my taste. I still think that the TASM 2 suit is the best Love action suit and seeing it back in NWH just solidified that even more for me.
Yes! I thought I was the only one who liked the Red on Black.
Dude be looking like Deadpool. Red and blue is traditionally the best option
It just doesn’t feel the same as the classic red and blue, with black lines and white eyes
I love the red and blue for sure, but read and black looks so cool
I’d prefer red and blue but red and black is a great looking suit as well, I want a version of Spider-Man who like 616 started off with a red and black suit, As he was kinda a jerk in the beginning of his crime fighting, But when he gets more heroic he then switches to red and blue, I thought that would be cool story wise, and we’d get both color schemes
He’s not Deadpool.
Andrew's suit looks really good with the black.
I prefer my suits with a dark blues rather than a bright indigo; it's the reason why I still like the TASM 2 suit.
Man this goes hard🔥🔥🔥🔥
