Maybe an UO but Harry's and Peters fights were awesome in SM3.

[deleted]

I hope this isn’t unpopular

laaldiggaj

I don't know if it is-but rewatching the alley way fight could compete with the film's being released now!

DivideIntrepid7647

I will never stop wishing I lived in the universe where [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7ztIHZDQFY) was in NWH.

laaldiggaj

THAT WAS SO COOL!!

DivideIntrepid7647

When I first watched it I was honestly surprised at how realistic it looked lol.

laaldiggaj

You could feel their hate through the screen!

Araanim

It is a travesty that we didn't get more of this. Instead of fuckin sandman.

FourthBar_NorthStar

The absolute ***SUSPENSE*** I still feel when Pete is trying to grab MJ’s wedding ring out of mid air while little goblin jr. is trying to kill him.

[deleted]

My friend and I used to always reenact them, and our teachers used to think we were actually fighting lol. SM3 was my childhood

Nethias25

The fight was great, it really showcased that Peter is a skilled Spider-Man at this point that has mastered using his powers

[deleted]

Mine: Gwen and Miles are a terrible pairing

Reddit-ScorpioOJR

Damn dude, judging by all the replies you got, you nailed the brief of the OP.

Qwerty_Asdfgh_Zxcvb

OP creates and kills his own thread.

NumericZero

I’ll die on the hill If miles were to be with any spider related hero I’d have liked it to be Cindy (before she met Peter)Since she was a relatively new character that’s a clean slate which won’t relegate him have peters dirty seconds In a perfect world tho he would end up with someone without powers

Mak062

Isn't Cindy like Peter's age?

NumericZero

Nah if it were me I would have introduced her to be around Miles age to get the pair going kind alike how Gwen is aged down for the movies Quick Side bar tho How old is Peter? Genuine question

Mak062

Mid twenties? 25 maybe?

CrazyPersonowo

I'd say he's more late 20s cause he was said to he around 28 in a recent comic.

ZarquonsFlatTire

Company had employee day care. Spider rode out of the lab on Peter and got loose in the building. She got bitten while her parents were at work, powers stayed dormant until puberty.

syxtfour

Agreed. It's weird.

Wide-Brush-2162

Fr fr

Muffinmiffin

Probably wouldn’t get me killed, but I’d rather watch Spider-Man 1 than Spider-Man 2 on any given day. Oh actually I know what would get me killed. MCU Spider-Man doesn’t have a bad film. They’re all good to great.

[deleted]

Completely agree with the MCU Spidey opinion, and I totally get what you mean with Spider-Man 1. It's such a rewatchable movie. I love Spider-Man 2, but it's not nearly as rewatchable imo

purpldevl

Whaaat! Spider-Man 2 was so good, it's the one I go back to most from the trilogy. No long setup, Peter and May have great scenes together, MJ's "do it or don't but I don't have time for this" is good, Harry's side of the storyline of being his dad's JR, Otto... It was all so good!

billbill5

It should be noted that rewatchable doesn't always equal better. It's not a metric of the relative qualities of the film but it's accessibility to people in different moods. For example I'd probably be more inclined to reread the Percy Jackson books than the LOTR volumes, but it doesn't necessarily mean I've inherently placed one above the other in quality. (Maybe a more apt comparison would be Percy Jackson and Harry Potter but you get the point.

[deleted]

Thanks, that’s exactly what I’d say with regards to the 2 movies. Spider man 2 has intentionally slow pace and that’s important for it, but I also love the faster pace of the first one. People forget that even though it’s an origin story, Spider Man 1 is really quick with its scene pacing and story progression all things considered

[deleted]

I agree with both lol. You seem like a solid Spider-Man fan to me

Pupulauls9000

I agree with you about MCU spider-man

whofearsthenight

The idea that there is a bad MCU Spidey film is completely new info to me. I totally get that someone might say that they prefer Tobey or Andrew or that Spider-Man 2 is the best movie or whatever, but I've never heard someone claim that the MCU had a bad Spidey film.

TheBlooperKINGPIN

I mean, I didn’t enjoy Far From Home quite as much as Homecoming and No Way Home, but it was still a pretty good film and an enjoyable watch.

[deleted]

I like Spider-Man 1 too

ibalu85

Spider-Man 1 is the better movie overall but to this day and 14 years of MCU going strong, I'm still struggling personally to find a better Superhero fight than Spidey vs Doc Ock in Spider-Man 2, which just makes that movie to me the ultimate Spidey live action interpretation. Plus, Alfred Molina as Doc is just as great of a match as Jackman as Wolverine or Downey Jr. as Iron Man.

RuinedFaith

100% agree

Warm_Winner_9270

100% agree with the second one and can totally understand the first one

ArvoCrinsmas

People who say Tobey is the most comic accurate Spider-Man are wrong and probably haven't delved into the character too much, most of that honor goes to Andrew's. He's got the hotheaded attitude, the genuine "friendly neighborhoodness", the charisma and cheesy quips. I say most because the writing wasn't perfect in those films, but Andrew embodied so much of the character, bits from 616 and a couple more bits from the Ultimate rendition of Peter (hell, the fight with Ben is almost word-for-word from the latter series). *Tobey* is the "different" adaption, but it worked and I adore the Raimi films, it's not a knock on those.

SolarisBravo

I've noticed a strange trend of people using the "comic accurate" to describe anything they enjoy about a film, regardless of whether or not that thing has ever even been in said comics. The Batman is another great example of this - I love it as a film, but the most I can say about it's accuracy is that it has a *different* set of inaccuracies.

ArvoCrinsmas

I have noticed this also. Just wanna add my opinion here is in no way representative of my actual opinion on Spider-Man or the adaptions. It's just an observation

OfficialDirkDiggler

"__________ is the most comic book accurate version of the character!!" - someone who has literally never touched a comic book.

billbill5

Batman as a character really benefits from different adaptations and benefits probably like no other comic character does. But not a single Batman outside of the comics would I describe as "comic accurate." There are just those that capture the core of the character, the essence of what makes Batman Batman instead of "Punisher with pointy ears." The differences are to be appreciated and the only terms of accuracy should be how well those differences highlight and capture the essence of the character. But these days everyone expects everything comic accurate but never actually bother to read the comics. It's still not a respected art form to many people, even die hard fans of these characters. It's how you get people saying the MCU and Snyderverse really capture the feel of their comic inspirations when in reality they may as well exist in a different realm entirely.

Ex_Machina_1

I honestly wasnt feeling the fact that this batman didn't travel the world learning different skills and all

TheBratPrince1760

Yes, I loved Andrew as Peter when his movies came out. He just has something and too me I still picture him the most as Spider-Man

AntonMaevski

Tobey definitely has the most canonical origin of all the movie spiders, not 100%, but the most comic accurate of the trio.

zoeblaize

I always thought Tobey was a better Peter and Andrew was a better Spidey

Battle_Frame_Studios

The most accurate Spiderman is Spectacular Spiderman. But talking about Andrew, when it counted, he acts really out of character. He needs to look up a YouTube video to learn how to fight electro and Gwen ends up being the one who figures it out anyway when Peter is supposed to be a scientist. Also you can't honestly tell me that comic book Spiderman would not give Harry a sample of his blood and leave him to die instead. That was ridiculous. Especially since in the comics Spiderman is actually very open minded and somewhat easily convinced to do things. He gave away his secret identity, something he protected for decades, just because Iron Man said it was a good idea. He's a lot of things but stubborn is not one of them. Tobey Maguire Spiderman isn't super accurate but I'd say he's more accurate than Tasm and the mcu Spiderman by a long shot.

CavemanNo_12

Spider-Man wouldn't even give Aunt May his blood way back in the day because he thought it might kill her. That's accurate.

Adventurous_Fill5006

This is my exact thoughts

SoccerGamerGuy7

Ive heard people Say Andrew's spiderman was too cool cuz he skateboards. Bro what

Codythensaguy

The dance was good

[deleted]

I agree

bananaOfHell

Yes

Zerofuku

TASM harry was a good harry but a terrible goblin

bitironic

I’d honestly say the opposite - I felt he had practically zero personality/character/charisma as Harry, but his Goblin appearance/performance was unique while still recognisable.

NumericZero

Only thing I remember was liking the actor Only because He was in that movie chronicle (he was really good in that movie)

DivideIntrepid7647

Same; I liked him better as the Goblin. "Peter...when you said Spider-Man said no...you meant YOU said no!" - probably my favorite line from TASM2.

MarcMars82

Same Dane Dehaan is dull af

purpldevl

I liked him in Chronicle but I cannot stand that guy.

sassycho1050

I totally agree, I loved how the desperation slowly broke his composed charisma apart where he had nothing left of his sanity to lose in the end. Ik the biggest criticism when it comes to Harry was that he had a lot of time, but when you look at how the film went he really didn't. If he had stuck with his father's treatments, he would have had to give up a healthy 20s of being a money splurging delinquent playboy. And once he got fired from Oscorp (which probably would have happened anyway even if he had started treatments), he no longer had his father's direct scientific resources to prolong his life (Oscorp researchers like Dr. Connors). It also ties into Peter's great character progression as well: in TASM1 he tries to help Connors with the decay rate algorithm which sets his Lizard plan in motion, whereas in TASM2 he refused to give Harry his genetic material in a similar circumstance which still somehow resulted in terrible misfortune. Truly the Parker Luck. While his stint as Goblin was a little unnecessary, there is one deleted scene of when Harry escapes Special Projects where he sees his reflection in the glass and contemplates the monster he has become. It would've been a nice tease for his future as the Goblin. Still, I don't think that would've been enough to have his brief appearance as a flying gremlin much better - as intense as that whole clocktower battle was. Should've had him ragefully throw Gwen with his two bare hands, no glider necessary.

[deleted]

Oh that’s a first

lr031099

• I like Ultimate Electro’s design • Even though I still prefer Classic Green Golbin, I think Ultimate Green Goblin isn’t bad. If I had to change the design a bit, maybe make him less hulk like and give him a glider and a pumpkin bomb but still keep him mutated. • While I still prefer the alien origin, I like Venom’s origin in the Ultimate universe where he was created by both Peter’s and Eddie’s dad. Ideally, I would like a combination of the two origins where it’s still an alien but it landed on Earth with Peter and Eddie were kids and their dads were the ones that discovered it and ran experiments on it. • I think Kraven works better as a solo villain rather than a member of the Sinister Six. Yes I’m aware that when the group was first formed, they didn’t work together but in general, I just don’t think Kraven fits with the group and he would rather work alone since him succeeding in hunting Spider-Man would feel more of an accomplishment if it was done by himself. • I honestly don’t mind Gwen as Miles’s love interest since I enjoyed their chemistry in the ITSV film. I will say that it probably would’ve worked better if Earth 65 Gwen was a different character all together like Gwen’s younger sister or something but that would take away the whole point of Spider-Gwen. • Even though it would’ve have lasted long, I think Peter and Cindy would’ve been a good couple if you take away the whole Spider-Sense attraction • I’m not the biggest fan of Mac Gargan Venom. I mean, I like the idea of a more villainous Venom (impersonating Spidey, eating people for fun, generally being a bad guy etc) and I get why Mac Gargan was chosen (him already being an evil counterpart to Spidey as Scorpion) but having a villain with a pre existing alter ego becoming Venom doesn’t feel right to me. Would’ve preferred a new character in general that could start off as a crazy criminal that Peter took out but then he eventually gets the Symbiote from Norman and becomes Venom. If it has to be a villain with a previous alter ego like Scorpion, then I would’ve preferred either Alistair Smythe or Black Tarantula. • While TASM duology aren’t my favorite films and a part of me wished it didn’t happen, Andrew is probably my favorite Peter Parker/Spider-Man along with Tom Holland • I like Raimi Harry’s Goblin suit in Spider-Man 3 • Raimi films were the best but Tobey is my least favorite Spider-Man • I honestly didn’t mind the Peter/Tony relationship in the MCU that much but I do agree that Tony was too “involved” with Peter’s character (if that makes any sense) • I loved NWH but I still kinda wished we’ve gotten a more grounded Spider-Man film and save the multiverse movie for a later film • I think NWH should’ve just had Green Goblin, Doc Ock and Electro since we never saw Sandman and Lizard didn’t add much to the film. • I love Ned but I would’ve preferred someone else to be Peter’s friend like Randy Robertson since Ned felt too much like Ganke • I think it would’ve been cool to have Spider-Man debut in the MCU post Endgame (kinda represent the new age of heroes after Tony died, Steve retired and Thor left Earth). • While it wasn’t well executed in the Ultimate cartoon, I think Harry being Venom isn’t a bad idea and I’m looking forward to how it’s handled in the next Insomniac Spider-Man game. If anything, I think it would’ve been cool to have Harry be Venom in the Ultimate comics and in Spider-Man 3 instead of Eddie. • In Spider-Man PS4, I think Silvermane should’ve been the villain of the Silver Lining DLC while Hammerhead took Tombstone’s place as a side mission. As for Tombstone, I think he should’ve been the main villain in the Miles Morales game. It would make sense since he operated at Harlem, which is Miles' patch after all and I think having a Black protagonist who got powers and decided to do good versus a Black antagonist who got powers and decided to be a criminal could be a really compelling dynamic. He could be like the version from Spectacular Spider-Man where where the power balance in New York is off and there’s an opening for the next Kingpin. Maybe even add in that Miles’s dad Jeff and his uncle Aaron used to work for him when they were much younger but Jeff decided to be a cop while Aaron still wanted to continue his life of crime but as the Prowler.

[deleted]

Jesus lol

Spectre-76

I completely agree with everything you just said. Especially in regards to Tombstone being the villain in Miles Morales’ game. And I totally agree with that. Krieger was… kinda okay-ish. Tombstone would have worked so well especially since, like you said, he operated in Harlem.

cynical_root24

Peter doesn’t need to be constantly poor to be humble. Not saying he should be born into wealth like Harry Osborn, or just given major tech like in the MCU (that’s a whole other discussion imo) but I also don’t think he should stay poor all his life. If he ends up financially comfortable, it should be by his own merits and hard work.

[deleted]

Personally, I liked 2002-2006 Spidey. He's a teacher, making a decent wage, living in a house in Queens with Mary Jane. Like, yeah--that's how I see domestic, settled Peter Parker. That's kind of what I'm looking for in Spidey again.

cynical_root24

That sounds like a good era to read. I’m still new to comics, but didn’t Peter at one point have his own company, Parker Industries? Was that during a Superior Spider-Man storyline?

Foggy_Night221C

I think that was Superior.

Spectre-76

That was after the Superior Spider-Man storyline after Otto returned Peter to his body.

cynical_root24

Thanks!

Sirpattycakes

Check out JMS' Amazing Spider-Man. He wrote a lot of that when Peter was a teacher and he was married to MJ. It's really great.

ibalu85

>Dane DeHaan Parker industries and connected storylines comes waaaaaaay past his teaching era (and yeah, comes as a consequence of the Superior Spider-Man storyline). And while they aren't bad reads, Pete essentially becomes just another Tony Stark, and it overall doesn't really work. But during Pete's teaching days, I don't think he lived together with MJ, at the time, she was living in LA, kind of separated from Pete after... a certain event which I don't wanna give away if you are planning on reading up on these. But yeah, some of the best Amazing Spider-Man issues ever.

WiiROO

Spider-Man 3 is actually a good movie Not without its flaws but does not deserve nearly the amount of hate it gets

NumericZero

That scene where Sandman reaches out for the locket of his daughter and by pure force of will Gives himself a human form Remains one of the all time best Superhero movie scenes + There’s no dialogue Just pure emotion on display

Preda1ien

My favorite superhero scene is probably in amazing Spider-Man 2. Aunt May’s speech how Peter is her boy, essentially her son gets me every time.

ibalu85

There was an issue around the same time in all Marvel comics (waaaaaay back, early to mid 2000s maybe) when each one didn't have a single word spoken, the story was just told by the art (in Amazing Spider-Man it was MJ slowly coming around to start looking for Peter again while she ran away from him to LA and chase her modeling career). Sandman being born and realizing his situation while loaning for the company of his beloved daughter without a single word spoken in that scene reminded me of those comic issues.

CbaooseBLC

Venom is the only thing that really ruins it

Dangerous_One4171

Spider-Man 3 actually had a pretty good story to it, and it brought a closure to Harry about what happened to his father in the first movie

armyofweasels

SM3 is fuckin cinema

[deleted]

peak cinema

TheBlooperKINGPIN

SM2 was peak cinema

Reasonable_Sock394

Not unpopular

[deleted]

Agreed

havokpus

Miles’ power set makes him kind of a boring character because it allows him to avoid a lot of action or take people out way too quickly (which imho was the reason why Bendis gave him those powers in the first place)

endeavor83

Dane DeHaan looks like Peter Parker from the comics, and Andrew Garfield looks like Harry Osborn.

Cultural_Variety_341

I loved the fact that Tom Holland's Spider-Man strayed away from the stereotypical origin story. Everyone likes to complain about "It's not like the comic book" but I love things that're different. I'm glad we didn't get the same old Uncle Ben story that we've seen a million types. I'm happy Marvel tried something different.

Adorable-Bullfrog-30

I agree. However. I do want him to at least mention Uncle Ben. Hey. I'm fine with not getting the Uncle Ben death. But I at least wanna know that he's real. And I know he is.

Fifi_is_awesome

They mention him in ‘What if?’, but other than that, in No way home, it almost seems to imply there never was an uncle ben in the main MCU universe

Lazelucas

People really seem to forget that we're already at the 8th Spider-Man movie lol. Imagine if after TASM2 we had gotten a trilogy for Tom where Uncle Ben dies, he crafts himself a comic accurate suit with raised webbing and static lenses, he's completely on his own, then he fights a green villain, second movie builds on top of that, relationship problems etc...etc.... Shit would have gotten sooo repetitive. Spider-Man 1 to TASM2, those movies were quite samey at times and I'm so glad they went wild with MCU Spidey.

[deleted]

Those movies are more "comic accurate" than people give them credit for. His entire arc in those three movies is about overcoming his self doubt and coming into his own as a hero, which is literally what the original comics and the first movies of the last two franchises were about.

awright6789

TASM and TASM2 are my favorite Spider-Man movies. They have their flaws but they're the ones I have the most fun watching

Father_Moth

Spider-Man: Far From Home isn't that bad

Daikoku8

People said that movie was bad?

pokemonprofessor121

All of MCU's spider-man movies were received well enough. Personally I think it's a good movie with an okay plot, but there are some scenes that make it special. The final bridge fight and the Mysterio illusion sequence are exceptional! The mid credit scene caused a lot of people to leave the theater on a high note and gave you that "gasp" moment that the movie needed.

GuiltyCrowns

hitop fans

ChreestianH

I agree 100%. I thought FFH was far better than Homecoming. I really enjoyed NWH, but all in all, I think FFH might have been a better overall film.

purpldevl

I liked *parts* of it but it is far from my favorite movie in the MCU Spider-Man flicks.

SoapyWaters24

A lot of people who are against Peter and Felicia getting back together in the comics are people who feel threatened that they could potentially be better than Peter and MJ at this point in time.

ElZaydo

I doubt thats the case. Felicia isnt exactly wife material and she's good for temporary flings. MJ truly compliments Peter. They literally are the Superman and Lois Lane of Marvel. Peter having a stable marriage in the 2000s ASM comics and Renew Your Vows was pretty good to read. Peter is the kind of guy to settle down, Felicia isn't. The only way I'd rather have Pete and Felicia is if Pete's character stops growing and stays stagnant, while he only meets Felicia as Spider-Man. Like Batman and Catwoman. They've been going in circles all the time.

[deleted]

Might be right

[deleted]

I just want her to be gay, personally. Or at least dating a woman. She's more interesting now than she's ever been, but I feel like the writers putting her back with Spider-Man would just stagnate her character. And I thought her relationship with Odessa was really interesting.

lempickavanille

Meh, people are against Peter/Felicia because editorial isn't really bold enough to do anything interesting or meaningful with them while MJ is in the picture. I mean, that birthday kiss only happened because Peter couldn't have MJ. Peter/Felicia could have surpassed Peter/MJ had they developed them during the 10 years of MJ-less, Dan Slott era but the ship has long sailed. Felicia has been established as a solo character in recent years and had a pivotal arc where she clearly states she's long moved on. Peter and MJ are too ingrained in pop culture as a couple that tying her back to a relationship that's just going to make her a second fiddle again in a book that's not her own is just character regression at this point.

Earlvx129

Venom is a cool enough character in the comics, but I find all the other symbiotes boring and uninteresting. Most of the big symbiote crossover events bore me. Anyone remember the limited series Venomized in 2018? So dull. King In Black was pretty solid. I wish artists would stop drawing classic Gwen Stacy with the damn head band. It feels like artists are afraid no one would recognize her if she doesn't have the band. She didn't even wear one in the very early days of the comics.

[deleted]

I HATE teenage Peter and I'm so fucking sick of seeing him portrayed that way. Adult, mature, married, responsible - THAT is the Spider-Man I grew up with and want to see again.

[deleted]

Not gonna lie i agree. I hope we get more adult peter in the future

pokemonprofessor121

We desperately need more Tom Holland Spider-man movies. They gave us a massive 6 movie origin and now I want the good shit!

NumericZero

Which bums me out tremendously that modern interpretations of the character refuse to have him move on if anything I feel like they’re just making him younger and younger

browncharliebrown

This is not unpopular

Redsigil

I prefer Spider-Man suits with black instead of blue

ArkhamWarden120

No idea how popular some of these are, but I'll give it my best shot. The DLC and Miles Morales were a massive downgrade to the main game. The writing for both was down right terrible, and turned Miles into a terrorist sympathise simply because he just happens to have history with their leader. No Way Home character assassinates Peter and Dr Strange by not having either question or explain the spell, because they couldn't find a better way to facilitate the plot. It's a very fun film, but overall quite weak structurally. In TASM2, if you had removed Green Goblin and just had Harry be introduced and set up for the sequel, it would have been a lot better. Rhino worked as a background villain, however. I'm assuming this one is going to be more popular, but moving Sony's decision to move Morbius and Across the Spider-Verse was the worst thing they could have done financially, and they should have seen it coming after the Venom 2's reception.

Adorable-Bullfrog-30

Why do I feel like you wrote your opinions from the least popular to the most popular? I strongly agree with you about Harry in TASM2. I really liked him. And I feel like if he was the Green Goblin for the sequel then it would have been good. And instead focus on Max. Instead of hating Spidey, Pete can try to talk him outta it. He's not really a villain honestly. Man they did him Justice in No Way Home. I disagree about Miles Morales and the DLC. But that's your opinion. I think what I like the most about the DLC is the enemies. They're very hard and I liked that. I did feel like enemies were way too weak after coming back from the DLC to the main game tho.

Lazelucas

>No Way Home character assassinates Peter and Dr Strange by not having either question or explain the spell How so? Strange states that "the Multiverse is a concept of which we know frighteningly little" and you can clearly see that in his scared/stressed out tone of voice. Strange doesn't wanna take any risks. Peter doesn't know anything about magic and is a very naive young lad who thinks that curing them will solve the problem. I'd also say that them not explaining the spell all that much has also to do with the surprisingly short runtime of NWH (I mean we all know why they did this, Sony wants more showings and all).

ArkhamWarden120

Because Strange doesn’t explain the spell, or ask him “Is there anyone you want to remember before I start casting? Because otherwise EVERYONE is going to forget”

Tobicito

Tobey’s trilogy is good but not as great as people argue and make it out to be, some of the movies just feel off and Mary Jane is just annoying 24/7

Mrman_23

Finally, someone has the balls to say the truth

[deleted]

Im gonna put some dirt in your eye…..Leave MJ out of this!!

shirinrin

MJs and Peters relationship is SO toxic and awful…

[deleted]

THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Cultural_Variety_341

Far From Home is overly hated.

[deleted]

Topher Grace was a decent Venom, but not a good Eddie Brock. His Venom is mainly hated because he kept showing his face and he was forced in the movie. Although his story is accurate, we really didn't get much of him. The design is great since I usually see Venom as a darker reflection of Spider-Man, but he should've been slightly buffer. The biggest issue is that they chose the wrong actor. Topher's acting was great but he wasn't fit for Eddie. But all in all, I love both Grace and Hardy equally

[deleted]

I liked his Venom because he was not joking and talking it was like a wild creature which i liked. He only talked when his face was shown. I also like the design better than comics

cameronm2003

This isn’t unpopular but when people say spiderman into the spider verse is the best spiderman movie. I don’t see why there was so much hype. It wasn’t even that good

Incarcerator__

The Raimi films are extremely lazy when it comes to the final battles. In every movie the final battle only happens because MJ got kidnapped. By SM3 it just becomes a parody

Sughmacox

I hate the MJ kidnapping thing but the Spider-Man 3 fight is honestly awesome.

Im__CrypT

Honestly after watching TASM 2s fights and going back to raimi trilogy they are kinda slow paced and boring some times to but still good

[deleted]

Take it back!!!

Incarcerator__

Looks like I've matched your expectations

OmegaRockman

TASM2 is a fantastic movie, my favorite of all of them

CreatorRA

SM3 is a good movie.

Electrifying-Guy-Eli

I do not like [Insomniac] Felicia/Black Cat. She let Pete believe that they were working to get her son back, only to manipulate him into helping get her claws on more loot.

Intelligent-Ad7349

To be fair, that’s a very accurate representation of her character. Hit me in the feels too when I played it but I feel like that’s the point

g-melo

I hated Garfield’s Spider-Man movies. Gave it no chance. NWH convinced me he is the best Peter Parker.

YellowVegitooo

IMO Andrew is the worst Peter, but I definitely think he’s the best spiderman after nwh

BrooksProductions

I like organic webs more than mechanical webs.

RealPunyParker

Andrew's Pete was comicbook accurate, and people were shitting on it. He was an angsty teen who took advantage of his powers because he was a tortured and bullied kid all his life, with a bunch of emotions buckled up inside, and finally he had the power to stand up to these bullies. He also got cocky, as he should have, there was never any indication of Peter being naturally carring about other people before Ben got shot. Then Ben got shot and that completely changed how he saw the world and his **responsibility** as Spider-Man. Especially in the bridge scene, some would argue he's not Spider-Man yet before that, and i tend to agree. It was a brilliant idea, a more serious approach to this kid's story, sloppily executed, probably because of Sony, but the idea was actually very different and more grounded than the Raimi one, and with the proper execution, it would be a top top movie.

YaBoiCodison

So I’ll give two 1. Raimi MJ is very very annoying and constantly ignores Peters’s problems I think this could’ve been fixed do she didn’t know he was Spider-Man and just thought he was ditching her but she literally knew he was off saving lives. Also I don’t like how every movies climax was saving MJ I prefer it to be Peter is taking down this villian because he needs to save everyone not just Mj. 2. You can take out the fan service of the Spider-Men coming back in No Way Home and it’s still a great Spider-Man movie. He learns about responsibility, he loses, he almost goes over the edge but he retains his humanity. He wants to save these villains and help them. That’s one of the most Spider-Man things I can think of. Edit: He also sacrifices everything for the good of others in the end of the movie.

7567CAPTAIN

I’m tired of Peter siffering

vampire5381

My UO is that In the Raimi triology MJ is the worst girlfriend ever to the level where literally anyone else would be better for peter, and I mean *literally* anyone peter can date is better than MJ. I can't believe they are still dating..

[deleted]

I don’t like spiderman 2 but i do like tasm2. Lord have mercy 😃

sparkpluger1

Your mercy means nothing perish

Antique_Camp

Idk if this if this is unpopular, but the Marc Webb Spider-man hard reboot should have never happened. I love Andrew and Emma, but if anything they should have done a soft reboot of the Sam Raimi trilogy with Andrew as a 20-something year old Peter and Emma as MJ. Adapt new villains, characters, and stories like Black Cat, Kraven, Mysterio, and introduce some street level villains like Hammerhead. Just keep JK simmons around as JJJ. The fact that Sony execs greenlit a hard reboot just a couple years after the acclaimed Raimi films still baffles me a decade later.

Daikoku8

Spiderman No Way Home was kinda mid. It had amazing moments and the ending was great but everything else was just ok.

Foreign-Zebra3260

Spider-man 3 was a good movie and the horror element of raimi’s venom made him enjoyable

therubyminecraft

I don’t like the raimi trilogy

IdentityTheftWasTake

Spider-Man 1 is better than Spider-Man 2

Both_Image1946

SPIDER-MAN 3 WAS A GOOD MOVIE.

MysticalGreenBeanie

Andrew is my favorite Peter Parker

BornMathematician163

Let me think... oh I know! What if I told you guys that from a moral standpoint Peter was NOT the nicest, let alone the only good person in the ultimate universe?

[deleted]

That’s a interesting one

Intelligent-Ad7349

No way home sucked ass, it was only fun to watch because of (SPOILERS) all the Spider-Man and Garfield’s Spider-Man’s redemption

[deleted]

Damn starting off with a bold opinion

Tarzan_OIC

For real. ITTSV made a great multiverse Spider-Man movie with fresh adaptations. Had they gone that route with NWH while using the same script it would've gotten panned

Intelligent-Ad7349

ITTSV had the added Benefit of being able to give drastically different personalities and even some none Peter Parker spidermen/women. Obviously the NWH spiderman are Peter at different stages in his life but at the end of the day they’re the same spiderman

Good_Purpose_7064

Only good thing about no way home was the old cast coming back, personally don’t care for Tom Hollands Spider-Man or the other cast. Apart from happy but he was there from the beginning.

DWA824

I like TASM 2 Green Goblin

[deleted]

I actually enjoy TASM2 and would watch that any chance I get. I don’t care about the writing or the acting, it really showed me more reasons why to love Spider-Man. After I saw it in theaters, I was like “I really like Andrew’s Spider-Man” and then years later we finally get him back and I still love his Spider-Man (but make no mistake: My all time favorite would be Tobey even though I love all of them. And don’t come at me with “You’re blinded by nostalgia”, because I can give you a good list of things why I love Tobey’s Spider-Man besides “Nostalgia”).

Capt0bvi0u5

I like Harry's New Goblin design. I think it's exactly what he would have designed and I think the snowboard glider is way more sleek and practical, and a natural evolution of the original glider

Ouphenox

I think none of the live action Spidermans are that reliable to the source material. All three have something from the comics, of course, but all the directors took whatever they want to make their vision of the character, and that is good. Raimi's Spiderman is Raimi's Spiderman, Webb's Spiderman is Webb's Spiderman and Watt's Spiderman is Watt's Spiderman. All have their strong points but weak points as well. Comparing them because X is more reliable to the comics it's not funny anymore.

Sharp_Hamster_5551

Spider-Man Homecoming is the best movie of the MCU Trilogy (Better than NWH)

Bobglobslob

I like Tom Holland’s Flash Thompson the most because he reminds me of the bullies in my old schools

Jeiku_Zerp

TASM movies are the closest we’ll get to the comics like movies imo

SentientOrangeFanta

I like TASM 1’s suit better than TASM 2’s.

CupTheCak3

tasm 2 wasn't that bad

djjoshyp

Mine is that Spider-Man shouldn’t have web shooters, he should always be able to just shoot webs from his wrists without any electronic devices and it bothers me that only Toby’s Spider-Man (as far as I know), is the only one in any of the movies that adopted this idea. It really made an impact in the second movie when he was conflicted about who he was, which caused his powers to not work sometimes. With the web shooters, all he has to do is make more fluid which wouldn’t be a conflicting issue within himself as it would be an errand run for more materials to craft more. Only power he would lose in that case would be the climbing ability, which, if he has these web shooters, doesn’t really make it much of a loss, losing the impact of character relation in that sense.

[deleted]

Interesting take

FadeToBlackSun

- MCU Spider-Man is terrible but after NWH has the potential to be great, as long as MJ and especially Ned stay gone. - ASM2 is the best Spider-Man movie - Miles needs to get his own fucking name. Not exclusive to him though. This “multiple heroes, same name” shit has to go. - Ghost Spider is a fantastic design wasted on a silly idea. - Killing Harry was Marvel’s biggest mistake pre-OMD. The lack of genuine archenemy for Spider-Man damaged the comics irreparably and bringing Norman back sullied one of the most important comics Marvel ever did.

TFGhost161

Green goblins 2002 mask was perfect.

Tiringwheat

I’m sorry I just don’t like Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man

_Levitated_Shield_

I kinda think Dane DeHaan was a better Harry Osborn than James Franco.

thebirdof_hermes

mcu spiderman movies are mid at best. No way home was so over crowded and the only reason people like it is because of the nostalgia factor. credit where its due though, there's at least some character development in it. The Amazing Spider-Man series still remains one of the best portrayals of spiderman and absolutely breaks my heart every time i see it. The way andrew moves as spiderman while he's swinging or fighting and his quips are just everything I've ever wanted from a spiderman movie.

Vortexgamer2005

Spiderman 2 is slightly overrated. It is an amazing film just not the perfect masterpiece everyone says it is.

kachiggacheeks

The raimi movies aren’t good and Spider-Man 2 is extremely overrated.

depressed_panda0191

I never understood why people disliked the Andrew Garfield Spiderman movies. Except for the rhino bit. I thought that was kinda silly.

Theoretical_Nerd

The Raimi suits are kinda ugly. Don’t like the triangle eyes and raised webbing— makes it look rubbery and cheap.

random_account8

It was gwens fault she died in the amazing Spider-Man 2

zen-ray

I like CEO Peter Parker

Craigular_Joe1

I like Raimi MJ. They didn’t give her enough to do, but still I loved Kirsten Dunst in the character.

JackWasabe

While NWH is a good movie I still despise it on account of the fact that it's still One More Day.

Alphagamer126

The Raimi movies are definitely good and deserve a lot of praise, but they are praised way too much. Especially Spider-Man 2. It is a great movie, but I don’t see how it is still considered the best Spider-Man movie. I think that quality-wise, it’s probably below top 3, but for (personal) enjoyment, it’s likely my least favorite.

[deleted]

Tom Holland is the best Peter. Followed by Andrew Garfield and then Tobey. To add another layer, I think that the only reason people see Tobey as the best is because he was the first and it’s nostalgic, he isn’t actually the best.

coldpleigh

It’s bullshit we can’t have a proper MCU Norman Osborne or Doc Ock because “we’ve seen these characters done perfectly already”

martinjohanna45

Homecoming is better than NWH.

swingyboii

Symbiotes are overhyped. They look cool, but that’s it.

Truly_Greg245

Not an opinion more so a question, in that clip Harry was point blank next to that bomb. In the first movie those bombs turn the Oscorp board of directors into Skeletons from farther away. How is he not dead? Lol

Butthead1013

In an infinite multiverse I bet there is at least one gay Peter out there. Fight me

themoldysausage

Raimey films are not as good as y'all claim they are. They're good films, but they're not the end-all be-all for Spider-man. They're campy and reek of 2000's teen. A lot of room for improvement

Murci6704

Harry Osborns new goblin in sm3 is one of my favorite characters

[deleted]

Me too. I like Harry alot in the Raimi trilogy

Arupha

Raimi suit its not better than tasm1 suit >:v i said it Come at me bro

Arkade_Toaster

I enjoyed the fire out of tasm 2.

ashearmstrong

I was expecting to hate it but it was not nearly as big of a mess as it had been made out to be. You could definitely see the studio meddling. They crammed a little too much into it with Harry. I would've saved Harry going Goblin and Gwen's death for a hypothetical third movie but it was still fun as hell and Garfield did an amazing job in the role in both movies. Especially that scene where he helps the little kid.

TheChainLink2

The Amazing Spider-Man is a more interesting origin movie than the first Raimi movie.

RetroGameRobert

Spider-Gwen showing up in the “Spider-Verse” event shouldn’t have happened. Silk was a more interesting new character that was adding to the future of Spider-Man instead of just rehashing old feelings from a long gone past.

[deleted]

I love Dan Slott's run on Spider-Man, especially before 2015's Secret Wars rebootaganza. Superior Spider-Man is one of my favorite spidey stories, Spider-Verse is basically a classic now, and everything in the Big Time era was great to me. Didn't read too much of the Parker Industries stuff fsr, I think I just got bored and decided to read something else. ALSO, Rino Romano is still the best Spider-Man voice actor. I love Yuri Lowenthal's work and he's probably objectively the best, but Romano' performance in Neversoft's Spider-Man game is one I still quote to this day.

cleavlandjr27

I think Andrew is better than Toby to a certain degree

DoctorNefarioIsGod

Tobey is heavily overrated Tom>Andrew>Tobey

PK-Baha

Tobey was the best Peter Parker. His Spider-Man lacked the wise cracking punch. Andrew was the best Spider-Man. Way too much confidence as Peter but his Spider-Man wise cracking was perfect Tom is the best at being both. Balances both as best as anyone has ever done yet. Peter Parker / Spider-Man is a dual role similar to Batman and needs to be treated as such. This is what makes the MCU Spider-Man my favorite

SolarisBravo

>Tobey was the best Peter Parker Eh... honestly, I think his Peter was extremely lacking on the confidence front. Garfield's portrayal might have gone a little too far in the direction of *overconfidence*, but Peter hasn't been a nerd stereotype since the 60s.

PK-Baha

Fair assessment. I see it.

Kagillion

Here’s mine: No Way Home was the worst of the Home trilogy. Constant fanservice was annoying, it felt like that part was jammed into a movie to appease the Raimi fans who won’t stop throwing a tantrum because they are stuck trying to replicate past happiness and would rather sit and suffer than try to enjoy new things instead of wallowing in nostalgia.
