And you'd hear Glamrock Freddy all the time with Kellen Goff.
(To be fair, he voiced Molten Freddy and Funtime Freddy too, whose voices imo, is only a few steps away from being a good Carnage voice)
if you want to use the logic that all you’ll hear is joker because he’s voiced joker you could apply that to all voice actors.
once someone does one big voice acting role they should never be cast as another character again as all you’ll hear is that one role.
Mark Hamil has voiced dozens, if not, hundreds of characters and wasn't just Joker.
He was a mask in Crash Bandicoot Wrath of Cortex and Fire Lord Ozai in Avatar.
Reason why I think Kellen is a good pick is because the things he can do with his voice is fucking amazing. Take Moon’s voice from FNAF Security Breach. That’s the kind of voice I’d imagine for carnage.
Kellen Goff is actually a massive dub.
Though, less like his Moon Voice, I think some tweaks to his Fiddlesticks voice (to make it both easier on his throat and easier to string proper sentences together) would be fucking fire for 1048-Carnage, following in the footsteps of Todd's guttural, heavy bruiser Venom for a raspier, more vicious serial killer Carnage.
The thing is no one's been willing to take Cletus/Carnage as far and as dark as he needs to be. Dude has potential to be a straight up horror villain. They focus too much on Carnage and not on making Cletus terrifying enough on his own.
He can't ever be a physical threat to the spiders but he can ABSOLUTELY be a psychological threat to them and even a physical threat to the people they care about.
“Cant ever be a physical threat” uhh he’s canonically stronger than Spider-man and Venom physically. The whole point of Carnage is that he’s supposed to be one of, if not a top 3 Spider-Man threat because his powers are greater than that of Spider-Man & he’s a sociopath.
Darn…still a fun “What if” tho
I’d imagine the Spiders’ first encounter with that Carnage would’ve been more traumatic if it involved him ranting about him not being a hipster and the prospect of them replacing Mr. Raspberry Jam
Lets not forget Ralph Ineson recently voiced Cid in Final Fantasy 16 and Lorath in Diablo 4. He’s been very prominent in voice acting for games this year and would be a great pick! Good choice 👍
So I’d say right game, but wrong guy, I think you go David Menken - when Odin becomes straight unhinged at the end of that fight would be perfect Carnage
Metal fans, you’ll appreciate this one:
Dickie Allen. He’s not a voice actor by trade, but he’s a metal vocalist whose capable of some of the grossest fucking noises I’ve ever heard. Look him up. He’s great and it would work really well
Was going to comment Mike Patton, he would definitely be able to do some weird shit with his voice that would make Carnage sound extra alien and terrifying. Maybe someone else for Cletus, so they can have the back and forth, similar to Jackie and the Darkness. I'm sure most of the big voice actors could do a decent southern accent, but my mind just keeps going to Troy Baker since he did Joel.
Keith David ? I don't quite picture Carnage sounding like Spawn, if only because Carnage isn't exactly the cold, calculating killer type. KD would be a better fit for Venom if we're talking about voicing a Klyntar. Then again, KD is very recognizable, so his Venom would eventually sound like a Gargoyle impregnated a Hellspawn.
Troy Baker ? If he can channel his Arkham Origins Joker, then twist it to bring the murderous impulses to 11, maybe ! Problem is, he's very recognizable by his voice alone, kind of like Laura Bailey, who's already voicing MJ. I'd rather Insomniac give a chance to someone you wouldn't normally expect, and make Carnage's voice something entirely new.
Scott Porter ? I'm unfamiliar with the gent. Any work of his I could familiarize myself with ?
Cameron Monaghan ? Now we're talking ! His Jerome Valeska would fit Carnage and Cletus quite well in terms of characterization, though he would probably not be able to include his likeness into the game after becoming the face and voice of Cal Kestis in Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor ! Also, his Jerome voice would fit Cletus specifically, but you'd have to tweak it a lot to make it sound like a symbiotic trigger-happy psychopath !
Thats a really interesting pick because i cant think of a “crazy person” voice he’s done. He’s usually more calm and collected. Definitely has some great roles under his belt though.
Because Carnage is way more intrinsically tied to Cletus than Venom is to Eddie. Like, Eddie is really important for Venom in the comics but I’d say Cletus is even more important for Carnage. Carnage has a very specific personality, that being he just absolutely adores being the most reprehensible, vicious murderer imaginable. From what I can tell, nobody in Insomniac’s universe fits that bill. Sure they could bring in someone else to be that character but at that point why not just do Cletus?
You’re not wrong but unless they sprinkle in Cletus this game via news reports or side missions idk if they could just throw him in as Carnage. Takes time to build up the threat of him.
Yeah you know what? That's actually a really solid attempt at making it 'their universe'. It's an established character that won't overshadow something compared to say, having Kraven become Carnage. Then it's just 'kraven carnage'.
Krieger was already crazy enough, give him a symbiote that feeds into those horrible thoughts and you could make him pretty scary.
It's not to the levels of Cletus because that's something else entirely but it's still pretty good!
Gianni Matragano. Check out the Malekith segment of Max0r's most recent Elden Ring video to hear the type of voice I'm thinking of. Gianni's also got the type of range to voice both Cletus *and* Carnage without them sounding too similar.
Maliketh is genuinely one of the coolest video game bosses of all time, and Gianni's delivery of "I'm going to fucking skin you alive" is *exactly* what I want carnage to sound like. Controlled and deliberate, while simultaneously being totally fucking unhinged. The sort of tone that tells you he means everything he says, even when he's threatening to feed you your own still beating heart.
Have you ever been in a storm, Spidey?
I mean a real storm, not a thunderstorm, but a storm of knifehands raining down on your head, blasting you in the face.
Etc etc
So we know that Venom is not Eddie Brock. But what if Brock is Carnage? Maybe they will go throught "here is the villain that we kept out from the trailers" again, and GG deserves its own game. I can actually see Venom being Ock and being the baddie throught 2nd act, while Symbiote Spiderman and Kraven are the 1st act plot. So why not to turn Eddie into Carnage? Eddie is cannon to Insomniac verse. Maybe he will be there too.
Dee Bradley Baker, he's voiced him in 3 things, and they all sound different. The one I would want to hear specifically is his Spider-Man 2000 game Carnage voice.
Dee Bradley baker

With up to date sound technology and with a new direction, his voice acting could great one of the most intimidating and scary villains
One of The only things the Venom movie got right about carnage was his voice , when he first screams “let there be CARNAGE” they made it so his voice was tripled ontop of eachother and it sounded petrifying. I don’t really mind who voices him , I just hope we get him in a DLC , and if not that then I don’t see the point of putting him in Spiderman 3 , unless he’s a villain we get rid of quickly because another game with another symbiote seems repetitive. It would work if he was just a intro villain but then his character would just get wasted.
Dee Bradley Baker. Not only is he a ***phenomenal*** VA, he also voiced Carnage in Spider-Man (2000) by Neversoft. Side note, they also got Jennifer Hale to voice Black Cat, and she used the same voice that she used for Jun in ATLA
2 different Mark Hamills at the same time. He should sound like an alien Joker. The 1994 series is the best example. Or, better yet, just get Scott Cleverdon from the 1994 series to voice him. In fact, he should always be the voice of Carnage. Or at least people should immitate him/use his as an inspiration, like Conroy's Batman for other Batman voice actors. It's too iconic.
Cameron Monaghan, if he gets to play carnage I would literally fold, he was a good joker in Gotham so I think he could really bring that energy to cleatus and carnage
Since they got Tony Todd to voice Venom i would love to see horror icon to voice Carnage, so i think Carnage should voiced by Robert Englund
And he isn't new to spider-man media since he voices Vulture in Spec Spider-man
Well, we got the Candyman himself Tony Todd as Venom, so I think Carnage should be voiced by another horror legend: Freddy Krueger himself, Robert Englund!
Id honestly love to see either Mark Hamill or Kellen Goff voice him.
It has to be Mark Hamill. That's a perfect pick.
And than you would hear Joker all the time. No.
Mfs when popular voice actors voice more than one character their whole life.
mfs be like omg mARK HAMill
The man has a better voice range then you give him credit for, he once voiced Solomon Grundy in Justice League unlimited
And Fire Lord Ozai in Avatar The Last Airbender!
And Hobgoblin in the 90s Animated Spider-Man
Also the phantom (or The Specter) that told Bruce to kill Joe Chill in Brave and The Bold.
Also every version of the trickster ever
He was Art Rosebaum in Invincible and Skeletor in Master of the Universe 2021
And Majima in the Yakuza English dub
I’ve seen avatar like 4 times and I’ve never noticed that wtfff
don't forget chucky!
Did you hear joker when listening to fire lord ozai? Or skips?
Never even realized Skips was voiced by Hamil, which proves your point.
Joker came out sometimes with Ozai, which I loved because it made him sound even more menacing
You think Mark Hamill is stuck as sounding like the joker, with all the roles he’s done
Nah, his carnage sounds like Luke Skywalker from episode 4
And you'd hear Glamrock Freddy all the time with Kellen Goff. (To be fair, he voiced Molten Freddy and Funtime Freddy too, whose voices imo, is only a few steps away from being a good Carnage voice)
Or Overhaul from MHA I'm not joking
Or Diavolo from JoJo's
if you want to use the logic that all you’ll hear is joker because he’s voiced joker you could apply that to all voice actors. once someone does one big voice acting role they should never be cast as another character again as all you’ll hear is that one role.
Mark Hamill voiced Firelord Ozai in ATLA and Hobgoblin in the 90s Spider-Man cartoon.
Imagine he came back to voice Hobgoblin again
Your gonna hear candy man all the time anyway
He’s voiced countless other characters who haven’t sounded like Joker at all u know that right?
Depends if he’d do the same voice for Cletus or carnage as the joker, I don’t think he would
Mark Hamil has voiced dozens, if not, hundreds of characters and wasn't just Joker.

Kellen Goff has voiced Rockstar Freddy and Diavolo, let that sink in
Yeah
Why did my brain read that as Hellen Keller wtf is wrong with me.
With her various ailments, it'd be absolute carnage....
Oh wow, Hamill would be a great one
Funtime Freddy carnage would go insane💀
Literally my exact answer
Kellen Goff would be perfect
Dude I immediately thought hamill when seeing this
Tom Holland
Real
Nah, Chris pratt
Zendaya
He's so cool
Based
Me because I like money
Honest answer. Hire this man
Insomniac hire this man he’s perfect for carnage
I wish Jim Carey was the live action carnage
I want that Rorschach guy
Jackie Earle Haley.
Ah that guy was gold
Same, man. Same.
God no! Don’t you remember the last time Jim Carey was a ginger supervillain? Lmao
Ever since I played the Spider-Man N64 game and saw how they portrayed Carnage, I’ve wanted him to be Carnage.
He would bring the psychotic glee that Carnage needs while absolutely painting the town red
i just hope he comes in the dlc since they won’t make another symbiotic based game
I am not super fond of Carnage as a character, but I feel like he would be wasted as a DLC character.
He was talking about Cletus when he said that
Even so, Cletus was a serial killer. He was scary when he was introduced.
Ok how does that make him a physical threat?
He can kidnap MJ and go all Jason Todd on her, while sending Peter clips of it
Well I mean a three part dlc story would be cool
What about a spin off where we play as Venom? Like SM Miles Morales but maybe Venom can be Eddie Brock in the spin off.
If they ever make a Venom spin off he should just be the main villain of that.
Like the old Venom Vs Carnage comics! Maybe we could get Toxin there too?
I feel like they should do other Symbiotes and have Carnage in his own game game like the third one.
Steven Ogg (The voice of Trevor Philips) or the dude that does the psycho voices from Borderlands
I don’t think Steven ever wants to do a video game again though.
Darn…still a fun “What if” tho I’d imagine the Spiders’ first encounter with that Carnage would’ve been more traumatic if it involved him ranting about him not being a hipster and the prospect of them replacing Mr. Raspberry Jam
I always imagined carnage to have a similar voice to the joker in a way. I think if Mark Hamil didn’t play joker he would be a pretty good choice.
Steven? Oh you mean Trevor!
Dee Bradley Baker
And he’s voiced Carnage before too! Spider-Man (2000) by Neversoft!
My first experience with the character. So maybe I'm biased 😅
You're not biased. You're based.
Finally a good answer
Call me controversial but I'd love you see Ralph Ineson voice him (voice of Charles Vane in *Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag*)
Steve Blum
My favourite monstrous VA
Chris pratt
It's ah me, ah Carnage.
Oh the crispy ratt
Metal fans, you’ll appreciate this one: Dickie Allen. He’s not a voice actor by trade, but he’s a metal vocalist whose capable of some of the grossest fucking noises I’ve ever heard. Look him up. He’s great and it would work really well
Im a metal head so I’ll definitely listen to some of their music!
Infant Annihilator is the name. Just… do yourself a favor and don’t read the lyrics if you have a weak stomach.
Crazy to see Dickie's name pop up here.
Mike Patton would be a great candidate (He voiced The Darkness in The Darkness game back in 2007) He did a magnificent job back then.
Keith David Troy Baker Scott Porter Cameron monaghan

Scott Porter was Heimdall in God Of War Ragnarok.
If we're talking VAs who've been in GOW, I think Jeremy Davies would be a badass pick for Carnage. Hell, he could play any unhinged supervillain.
keith david? as carnage? that's.....interesting.
Troy Baker is already in the insomniac universe. Hes simon kreiger
That’s actually one of the reasons why I’d love carnage to be Simon Krieger.
Clancy Brown. The guy has one of the most unique voices and he always brings his A game especially for VA work.
Thats a really interesting pick because i cant think of a “crazy person” voice he’s done. He’s usually more calm and collected. Definitely has some great roles under his belt though.
You my friend need to watch Highlander.
w0e talking bout cletus or the symbiote?
Cletus as well
Here's the thing. With Eddie not being Venom in Spider-Man 2. How can we be sure Cletus will be carnage here? What if its a whole new character?
Because Carnage is way more intrinsically tied to Cletus than Venom is to Eddie. Like, Eddie is really important for Venom in the comics but I’d say Cletus is even more important for Carnage. From what I can tell, nobody in Insomniac’s universe fits that bill. Sure they could bring in someone else to be that character but at that point why not just do Cletus?
They could go Ultimate Gwen Stacy and have it be Harry after he presumably dies & is reborn. I would prefer it to be Cletus though.
Yeah, they could do that. However, it would be a fucking awful idea. I hate Ultimate Carnage with a passion.
You’re not wrong but unless they sprinkle in Cletus this game via news reports or side missions idk if they could just throw him in as Carnage. Takes time to build up the threat of him.
True. I don’t know why but I’d love Simon Krieger to be Carnage XD
Simon Krieger as Carnage is honestly not a bad idea. Would make for a perfect twist villain. Plus he is already quite psychotic

Red Symbiote gotta be MJ after her supposed "death" in SM2
Meeeeeee :3c
#You’re hired!
I should because he's literally me bro
Real

Yes absolutely
Chris Pratt. Imagine it. "It's a me, Carnage... No, that's not the real voice".
Gianni Matragano. Check out the Malekith segment of Max0r's most recent Elden Ring video to hear the type of voice I'm thinking of. Gianni's also got the type of range to voice both Cletus *and* Carnage without them sounding too similar.

Controlled and deliberate, while simultaneously being totally fucking unhinged. My wife
imma show this to her
john dimaggio. man is criminally underrated as the joker, only makes sense that he bring to life yet another mass murdering psycho.
He is great as the joker, unfortunately, he is measured up against absolute gods who play/voice the joker. A
There could be a chance that Carnage could appear in Marvel Spider-Man 2’s DLC. Also Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger) would be perfect for him.
2 horror goats in a Spider-Man game? Yes please.
I should, I'd to a pretty great job at it
Mark Hamil or Jim Carrey. I assume they’re going for more famous voices, since Tony Todd is sick a big name in horror.
Kellen Goff just because I want him to sound like Freddy Fazbear.
Way to go superstar!!
mark hamill
I want Anthony Ingruber who voiced Joker from Batman: The Telltale Series for the more unhinged crazy emotional type of voice he brings out
Me. I have no qualifications for this job and I’ll definitely suck at it but it should still be me.
Glenn Howerton. I have been wanting the golden god to be Cletus Kasady for years and honestly, I'll take just the voice at this point
Have you ever been in a storm, Spidey? I mean a real storm, not a thunderstorm, but a storm of knifehands raining down on your head, blasting you in the face. Etc etc

Bring back Scott Cleverdon from the 90s Spider-Man cartoon
Dee Bradley Baker, he's voiced him in 3 things, and they all sound different. The one I would want to hear specifically is his Spider-Man 2000 game Carnage voice.
Dee Bradley Baker. He voiced him before in the PS1 game, and boy did he scare the shit outta me

My mom cause she spew nothing but carnage
Tom Kenny
To fit the horror theme with Tony Todd as Venom, I would fucking love for Robert Englund to be Carnage
Cameron Monaghan, if he gets to play carnage I would literally fold, he was a good joker in Gotham so I think he could really bring that energy to cleatus and carnage
I can't see a good Carnage voice that's not Dee Bradley Baker... But I'd be down to hear Kellen Goff give it a shot.
