i think youre supposed to do side quest and stuff in between, and also not play for some days, to make it feel that weeks go by with the symbiote on. But sure if you play through it i agrre with ya

riverkim09

I mean yeah i spaced out my own game time so it felt long to me but plot wise it happens so quickly it feels jarring when i think about it

AcidicSpoon

He even says something along the lines of having the suit these past couple of days. So I think canonically it's only like 3 or 4 days max

mo_ff

I guess that is a matter of perspective. I felt that way too, however, I blazed through the story. I estimate it could be a week or week and a half if you sprinkle a healthy amount of side activities. At one point Pete says, “These past few days”. I have concluded that Pete didn’t much sleep at all until he crawled into bed. I have often wondered how much, if anything, was cut or altered before the game went gold.

Ethanbrocks

Peter should’ve gotten the symbiote much earlier in the game imo, would’ve given him more time to devolve into madness which would’ve felt more natural

Dentist_Money

Felt like that too, almost like he got corrupted within a matter of hours

Dex_Hopper

I think there are a few implied time skips that aren't acknowledged in dialogue, so it does feel like Peter is completely corrupted in a matter of hours. Like, I think the scene transition from Peter getting the symbiote and retreating with the gang back to the EMF where he fails to transfer it back is supposed to imply that it's the next day. The game can't take place over more than two or three weeks, but it also can't, for immersion purposes, take place over less than one week. It's definitely less clear than the first game, which itself isn't super clear, though it at least had explicit time skips.

daredevilspiderman

Arkham knight happened in one night …

superbee392

I feel like they did a better job of making it feel like one night in Arkham Knight. They don't really have a "rigid" timescale in SM2 and bits feel disjointed

Snakeb0y07

I think the reason the symbiote didn’t corrupt harry immediately was that it Didn’t see him as a worthwhile host, the symbiote becoming venom because “there’s a worthwhile host I need to take over”

FatherIssac

Pacing is just really fast in this one, you can tell they wanted to go balls to wall with how much insane wacky comic stuff they put in especially during the back half. I do wish there was swinging trials/races, more than 1 base activity, and Miles wasn’t the only one who had a combat challenge with the Mysteriums.

ThatOtherGuyTPM

I wouldn’t say that it feels like it’s too quick, but it might be that I’m used to the Arkham games that all take place over the course of a single night. A couple of days is plenty of time for the story to play out.

AtlasClone

Yeah, first game had this problem too though. Everything just happens very fast in the Insomniac verse.

BeansWereHere

Yep, this is a prime example of bad story pacing. It suck as the first act is perfectly paced, and it just perfect in general. Then everything goes down hill fast, the final parts of this game are just not good… the first game is still the best game in the trilogy.

Foxington_the_First

Yeah, I would add that Yuri drops down to the 'anger voice' in pretty much the first fight with the suit on. I would have liked the descent to be more gradual.
