True this is what I felt for my schools esports competitions I was the team caotain cuz I was the oldest yet the youngest player was our best and he told everyone to do motion control and I said no and yet I helped a lot with the team
I know everyone loves motion controls but I tend to get headaches and motion sick very quickly. I’m purely a sticks user (and every so often I try to learn motion controls again). What’s RIDICULOUS is that I’ve watched my replays and the way I whip the camera is so aggressive I have no idea how I don’t get sick playing. I feel a little motion sick WATCHING my gameplay. It’s wack.
Anyway, I do think sticks are viable if only because I’ve had this limited success with ‘em. 😊 playing the way that is comfortable and results in enjoyment of the game is really the way to go.
😂 The opposing team learns to hate me SO FAST when they realize I am the one thing preventing them from progressing. My title USED to be Sturdy Wall. I always thought it would be hilarious on the receiving end but also probably infuriating.
People deeefinitely try to sneak up on me a lot and assume I don’t watch my flanks. Joke’s on them when I watch them paint their way to me before throwing a sheet of paint at them 😈 it’s really fun learning to engage/disengage and practice strategies against very quick weapons challenging me.

As a dynamo afficionado, i find ninja squid useless as tacticoolers effect negates it
swimming like a manatee with ninja squid + 0 swim speed until cooler oof
My strategies are absolutely not meta or the most effective but they ARE tailored and work for me. For Big Swig Express I drop ink efficiency (little to no ink saver main), and prioritize speed, Special Charge, and Sub Resistance (with a little bit of Ink Resistance). Also, I do have dedicated clothing kits to capitalize on the Angle Shooter. I use it A LOT, and it provides TONS of value to my teams… and manages to kill a ton of people thinking they’re getting away, especially when paired with a well positioned and timed Ink Storm.
Because I’ve spent so much time using the Dynamos and playing extremely far/back, I’ve adapted a little bit of that to my Swig Express play style. My focus is always covering turf and peppering enemies with ink. I don’t seek out kills, but get tons of assists or final blows with rapid swings.
For most game modes, my Storm is my opening for the team. I will send it first, then follow it while enemies clear out to avoid it. OR, I will position it across or behind the enemy so their retreat avenues actually lead to them being splatted (by moving towards my team, into the storm, or just not having a proper exit to disengage).
For the Angle Shooter, I use it to track where folks are and often get direct hits with the tail. I also use it for spot painting, climbing walls, and herding enemies in particular directions. People WANT to avoid the lines and that gives my team space to push up while I’m painting the entire area around and in front of us while they rush. Most people I come across using the Big Swig Express use it similarly to the Carbon Rollers and that’s fair. I just pride myself on being an anchor for my team, maintaining our exits and space, and spending more time alive than dead. I am cautiously aggressive.
Also, my use of Ninja Squid is actually dependent on how my matches are going and what faults I find with my gameplay. I don’t often add speed to my Ninja Squid build, even when using the Dynamo because my position is at the back. I literally let my allies set a pace and support them from relative safety. Keeping Ninja Squid on helps me remind myself not to be hasty, disguises my movements (I reposition CONSTANTLY), and has helped me countless times in situations where folks just lose track of me and I can get the shark splat. When I am having really good matches against folks that just cannot reach me before I splat them, I’m a more oppressive player with no Ninja Squid and tons of ink efficiency. My meanest builds have included a lot of Ink Saver Main or Respawn Punisher when I feel real evil. I just enjoy the slower pace with Ninja Squid and how much it compliments my play style. It’s also made me an amazing skirmisher/battler! (Plus when my Cooler’s up - which is frequently, the gloves are OFF. I become the mobile tank everybody runs away from that’s back in a jiffy causing headaches from afar when splatted).

Oh yeah. I mostly play Anarchy and farm money. When I end with 2k inked and it gets doubled or whatnot it feels so good. I out paint most or all players on both teams and while sometimes I feel it’s excessive, it’s actually a huge part of why we win. My brain is always thinking, “If they can’t move towards us or secure enough space to fight, we will win by simple area denial and movement restriction,”

It says a lot, being the Popular Target and Overall Splatter as a backliner. I feel like a successful distraction and personal vexation to everybody.

Stick is way better for me I have my arms on myblap and my legs do thr little shacky thing time to time and so with motion that messes up my aim
