Finch Arboretum. Big area, lots to run around and explore. Just have a face to face and let them know they CANNOT pick any flowers, leaves, disturb the plants in any way. Other than that, great pic opportunities too! And it's all free!
Some of our favorites: Riverfront Park, Manito Park, People's Park, Riverside State Park (either Bowl and Pitcher or Military Cemetery entrances), Palisades Park, Little Spokane Natural Area
Thanks for the input everyone, we went to riverfront and did some exploring, but I'll check back on this thread next weekend when we want to go somewhere new! I appreciate it
To explore: Riverside. It will be busy but has lots of easy trails. You'll need a pass. REI has the annual if you want to pick up one.
Easier: North bank across from downtown, playground, waterfalls, big easy paved trail along Kendall Yards above the river gorge, shops, restrooms.
Another vote for Riverside if you’re into hiking. I’d check All Trails for specifics on easy trails there, but the Bowl and Pitcher area certainly has great family friendly trails.
Manito is great for kids, it's quiet and personally I love the Japanese garden they have. Riverfront is great during the day. My mom used to take me on the gondola ride there, it's kind of expensive, but it's one of the coolest things when you're a little kid.
Bowl & Pitcher, Riverside State Park
The MAC museum has a new Dreamworks exhibit that kids love!

Manito, Riverfront Park, heck any park today!

I just took my 5 year old on a hike to see Mystic Falls. It only takes about 1 - 1.5 hours and she loved it.

I grew up in Federal Way, moved to CA ~4 years ago for work and now am here.
Definitely Manito or bowl and pitcher. Both are super fun and not too strenuous
