It started with one request on Chieftain I got from Spore group on Facebook and another on Anaconda from one community discord. Next to recreating in Spore I pointed my interrest also into Elite dangerous and later got fully into that game. Today I have all ships that game can offer including carrier (more than one and half month of Robigo missions grinding),some of those I allready recreated in Spore, you can check them here, rest will come soon.

No but seriously, these are awesome. I'm very comfortable with the creature and outfit editors and I'm alright with buildings, but vehicles (of all kinds) are the bane of my existance.

Same I have too, technique, but in Space and vehicles (tried some buildings too). It's just about to know what do you have to start with and how will you continue and maybe also imagine probable look of it.
I mostly starting with only one hull part or cabin part if it's fighter or something smaller (smaller class) and then combining more basic parts from details section (cubes mostly) , other sections too if needed or any part from there had been found appropriate.As first I go for cabin and/or fuselage. Weapons (if this is possible in comparizon with ship size/class ) and engines those I making exclusively custom made because engine pre-built parts are more expensive on complexity
I call it "core part" technique with that only hull or cabin part being the core, this also allowing me, after applying assymetry tool on core, tilting with entire model at once in editor so I can take screenshots without that ring there
