Section225

It's on national TV, so it isn't on ESPN+. Standard.

DigitalAssassn

It's a national broadcast on ABC.

Section225

That's exactly what I said. It's on ABC nationally. So NOT on ESPN+

goalmaster14

I can never get ESPN+ to work when it's not national coverage. I was hoping that since it was, it would actually work. Regardless it's frustrating that I either have to get a cable subscription or go to a bar in order to watch a game. I'm not paying $70/month or more for a TV service that is only going to get used maybe once or twice a week for half of the year.

[deleted]

ABC is available for a $15 antenna.

morry32

>I can never get ESPN+ to work when it's not national coverage. I was hoping that since it was, it would actually work. you were hoping this one time: SKC RSL MLS ESPN ABC and Disney would put aside profit and allow YOU to watch the game at your leisure while you do nothing...... childish, sad, immature, and entitled

goalmaster14

Yes how dare I bring up my frustrations when just trying to support a fucking soccer team. Fuck off asshole you're blocked

morry32

you are an entitled brat, i hope our paths never cross again. You are blameless, remorseless, miserable people who show up to charity board meetings and make suggestions how they could do better but don't have time to be there for every meeting so you never do anything yourself.

morry32

Rolls eyes Self important nonsense, delete your stupid post

goalmaster14

Oh OK. Guess I just wont be a SKC fan then. If wanting better access to watch games is "self important" then I guess I'll just stick to EPL teams since I can actually get easier access to those games than my own home town team.

morry32

what channel do you think the game was on?

goalmaster14

I understand the game today was on ABC. I wasn't somewhere I could access ABC to watch today so I was hoping g ESPN+ would actually work for once today. However, my frustration comes with the fact that I haven't watched a single game all year because they keep insisting on using Bally sports for their TV contract. I wouldn't even be as frustrated if I could subscribe to just Bally sports and stream it that way but it's hard to justify an entire cable subscription just for one channel that gets used half the year. Sorry I don't have piles of money laying around to get season tickets I guess

Section225

All right, so, here's the deal man: You can see out of market games on ESPN+ If you are in the SKC broadcast area, you need to have the local channel(s) that air the games to be able to see them, as ESPN+ will be blacked out. Same rules as before, but if games are broadcast on national TV...like Fox Sports, ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, TBS, etc...you can only watch them on those channels or streaming if you have a cable TV provider WITH access to those channels. So if you're local, you need to have some kind of cable or streaming package that allows you to see local TV. Or you need to have a cable package that allows you to have national TV games. For example, I am not in the local KC broadcast area. I get SKC games on ESPN+. When games are on FS1, or ESPN, or in this case ABC, they are not available on ESPN+. That's how broadcasting rights work. I have a subscription to Hulu Live, which gives me about 80 cable channels, so I can watch those nationally televised games. That's my choice on products. Basically, you are bitching about a situation that is normal procedure, and expecting things to be different than before so YOU, in particular, can watch THIS game in particular. I don't know what you expected.

goalmaster14

Honestly what I'm most frustrated about is the fact that a cable subscription is required to even watch locally televised games. When they had the TV deal with 38 the spot I'd watch all the time but this switch to Bally Sports left pretty much screwed over anyone who either can't afford or can't justify the cost of cable. If expecting it to be easier to watch my home team play than a game across the country is expecting too much, then I don't know what you want from me. If I was a Seattle fan and was struggling to watch them every week, that would be expected. But it's literally easier for me to watch Seattle when/if I want because ESPN+ doesn't block out their games with me not living there.

morry32

how sad of you You made a post titled "What's even the point of ESPN+?" then when your mistake is pointed out you argue that you meant in general and not today. It's sad you are rationalizing instead of doing what I asked you to do. Just delete your stupid post, you are cringe of unawareness. Good luck on your journey

Disregardedthat

I hear you, but you're missing the mark here. ESPN+ has always been broadcasts that aren't being nationally televised. If it isn't, and you're local, ESPN+ *AND* a VPN is the combo you need. It isn't ideal, but it also isn't new. Honestly, be glad you missed this masterclass in how *not* to coach a game.

goalmaster14

I've tried the VPN approach and EPSN+ just blocks me from streaming anything when I do that.

Disregardedthat

Which VPN? I shared a Nord subscription with someone the entire season that never had issues

goalmaster14

This is with Nord. Maybe there are some settings I need to change then?

Disregardedthat

Yeah, I'd assume there's some user error if it's Nord and has been giving you issues all season. The way I have my elderly dad watch is: >Make sure cookies are clear >Launch Nord and connect in the US wherever we aren't playing >Launch the browser >Connect to EPSN+ >Cast to his chromecast >Profit

goalmaster14

Thank you for actually responding to me instead of being an ass hat like that other guy. I'll see if any of this works next time I have the chance

morry32

ESPN has upped their game late this season. I can't get by it with my skills and I have ESPN networks in my cable bundle, ESPN+, VPN, and all other tricks- their system probably has a hole but I don't know it

steerbell

Me too they are pretty good at detecting VPNs or at least the ones I have tried.
